Your videos are so amazing. No other bird channel comes close to having such detailed, high quality video (and audio) as your channel.
We had a pair of Mockingbirds visiting our deck this past spring and summer. They have such beautiful long legs. I would watch them for so long…..beautiful birds!

@@BirdsWalkingDown I usually use the Panasonic DMC-LZ30. Good zoom, but only decent quality. Just got an old Nikon D90, probably an upgrade but still getting the hang of it 🙂

We have a family of Mockingbirds around our backyard. Always get the young fledglings chirping and hopping from tree to tree in the Spring. And their parents chasing off the neighborhood kitties 😅

He’s an aggressive noisy bully! and wakes me up summer mornings if he’s around lol. The only bird I ever had fly at me threatening when I was trying to sit in the yard where he didn’t want me .

In my limited experience, I have never heard any of call in Mockingbird call repertoire that matched any call of any other local species. So I am not really comfortable with idea that Mockingbirds are mocking any but other local Mockingbirds...and instead have their individual "Whale songs" which are either their own personalized songs maybe influenced by what they heard (most likely their parents' songs) while gestating in the egg. Iow, they are not mimicing calls of other species. It is obvious that the males are trying to intimidate other Mockingbird males, not other species, who might encroach on their territory.
