  • America Intervenes as Tea Controversy Brews in UK | Vantage with Palki Sharma
    Storm in a teacup is brewing in America and Britain. An American scientist brewed controversy by offering Britain advice on its favourite drink. Chemist Michelle Francl suggested that salt be added to tea. The Brits found this appalling. After all, tea is practically a cultural institution in the UK. The nation drinks about 100 million cups of tea per day. Eventually, the American Embassy intervened to resolve the controversy. Should salt be added to tea? What does this hilarious tea war say about cultures and food? Palki Sharma tells you.

    This reminds me of my Italian neighbor. He got pissed when he tasted Filipino spaghetti. Who adds sugar to spaghetti?! That's exactly what he said. I told him "You are not in Italy my friend" 😂
    If the Americans want their tea prepared differently then so be it. Why the fuss? It's still tea.

    I have been drinking tea for yrs. But more recently (about a year ago), I found the secret to brewing the most healthy cup of tea! The optimal brewing time is 2 min. max. for the lowest acidity and highest amt of caffeine. I sigh over throwing out the tea bag at 2 min, but it is the smoothest ever -- totally worth it! I will never go back. And it is wonderfully strong. By the time you're half way thru, you will think to yourself -- this is actually strong tea!♥

      We over here throw everything { milk , water , sugar , some spices ( sometimes ) and tea grains } in bot let it boil . There's no time limit how long you boil . You boil or add tea accordance to your desired color and strain it and eat and tepeat the freaking process . Never in my life I have used tea bag in home and found it weird when I once did in outside setting lol

    • @michaelcolors
      @michaelcolors 7 месяцев назад

      @@itsbonkerjojo9028 Thanks. There is no wrong way. The tea plant is more delicate than I ever thought possible. I do know that many yrs ago when I was young I used to squeeze the brewed leaves (regardless of what was used as a brew container, i.e, pot, bag, ceramic), and I became so sensitive to it that I could not drink tea for months. This is one plant that does not take brute force to be healthy. And, when brewed at 2 min. max, it has no acidic taste, and can be enjoyed w/o a lot of additives. Anyway, it takes courage to test out this info, esp. if you've been doing something the same way for many years. Best to you, ❤

    • @michaelcolors
      @michaelcolors 7 месяцев назад

      @@shantanusingh7600 tea bags have changed a lot since several decades ago. There are many brands on the market that have high quality standards, and many brands that are organic. Some brands now do whole-leaf. In the past, I have bought loose whole leaf tea. I do the bags mostly for convenience. If u want to read some interesting info on how the tea plant (from green to black, etc) is processed, then this can be found on Wikipedia. They use a fruit ripening chemical compound that turns the leaves darker and gives it a longer shelf life.

    No salt in my tea, if I want it "less bitter" I steep it for less time (e.g., green tea). Yes to squeezing teabags (not too tightly or they will burst); and no to brewing tea in a microwave. That noted, what is with the petty commentary? The English/British Isles and Ireland may make tea in whatever time-honored way they want. Americans msy follow and if some want to follow a silly trend like "add salt to tea to make it less bitter," so be it. 😂😂

    I don't drink Tea, Coffee ☕ Unnecessary
    I drink Tea only when too much Cold 🥶 or i am Sick 🤢 with throat
    Tea has both medicinal properties (Specially when used with Ayurvedic Medicine) & harmful substance also
    It should be consumed within limits only when needed (in Ayurvedic Way) or if too much cold & other Natural Drinks are not Present
    We should consume Fruits according to body type Specially in Morning or Afternoon, Dry Fruits - Raisins, Soaked Almonds, Chickpeas, etc
    Switch to better options Instead of Tea on Regular Basis which gives more & beneficial energy & Long Term Profits
    As study says Tea is originated in China, North East Bharat
    But i will say if a product is good then there no problem in consuming it but here product is a medicine it should be taken only when ill 🤧 or other type of medicine are not present or too much Cold 🥶
    Mostly Europe has Cold Climate so they don't have much options in Food
    That doesn't mean we should follow them blindly
    If we have better option we should use them
    On hating with Britishers i will say when quit india moment is going on this thing is good but now don't do it uselessly on everything
    Adapt what is good for you, society, environment
    Ditch what is bad for you, society, environment
    Forgive them but never Forget
    🙏
