Hi Lisa, I discovered Nancy Zieman last year. My measurements for McCalls patterns put me in an 18 but there was so much ease everything was huge. Using Nancy method I used a size 10 for the neck and shoulders then used her method to grade out for the bust and waist. I haven’t perfected it yet but already can wear what I have made. gorgeous dress! so pretty and it suits you perfectly. with the ties, ive just made the sewing therapy tie dress and Sara the designer has a cool way of sewing ties, I can't get on with turning tubes through!!

Love it! I have that pattern but not made yet. I thought it had have shirring ! Haven’t looked at pattern directions obviously 😂
Interesting on migraines and keto ,I do suffer with them. 😩

Oh as for keto and the migraines… It was kind of a fluke… I was actually just doing the Kaufmann protocol, which is low-carb or keto, depending on how you do it to help with some ongoing ear/sinus infections. I thought it could’ve been due to a mold/fungal issue… And while I was on it, all of a sudden my migraines went away. I was getting them on a weekly basis for a year and a half and actually ended up having to leave my old job because they were so debilitating! I don’t know if it would help you or not, but it really just happened to help me!

I pin the lining before hand sewing now because I had the same issue when I did my first bodice lining and it's really frustrating. I usually use a slip stitch. Your dress is lovely. I was going to try keto but it's not advised when in menopause 😢

And thank you for sharing! I was going back-and-forth with the slip stitch on this one as it probably would’ve looked a lot cleaner! And good to know about pinning the lining. I’m definitely going to do that in the future! ☺️
Oh! And as for keto… yeah I’ve heard some women in menopause do great with it and some don’t/ shouldn’t do it. It’s such a tricky thing! I’ve learned as I age I do better with lower carbohydrates. Quite possibly looking into just doing a lower carb diet could help? Im
sure you’ve probably already done your research though! I know I’ve had friends that are in menopause that have just done that and they seem to do well. But I know it takes a lot of work to really find what works best for you! 💕
