HOME STRETCH BABYYYYY!!! We're getting close to the finish line here... this next month is going to be WILD! Especially with the hardwood floor delivery ON TUESDAY!!
Hi Tara! I think it would be great if you did a home renovation advice video(your tips, tricks, advice, mistakes, etc.) when the house is done. Thanks for the amazing content! ❤️
Have you thought about black trim for your bathroom? Instead of trying to get a white that matches perfectly? The black could look amazing, especially if you’re getting black hardware🤩🤩
I was thinking the same but I think she’s wanting everything to be bright colors for the lighting... but I definitely think it would be easier and still look great
@@Marianne-F If memory serves, the white of the trim tile was a different tone than the marble, resulting in the marble looking 'dirty' - just too warm. I would honestly just use the same marble throughout, it looks so much better as you can see by the tub with the ledge, it even made the tub alcove look bigger and just has a more custom look to it.
The house looks gorgeous!!! But maybe instead of a tree by the ac maybe get a flowering bush/shrub or maybe lattice around it and feed a flowering vine threw the lattice that way the ac can be accessed just in case theres a problem later down the line. Juat an idea :)
So there’s a big creator in Texas called “off the ranch”. They’ve been renovating this mansion for a year and they painted it simply white inside the whole place, only to find that it gave off this green tint and now they have to repaint the whole mansion.
why not a concrete look for the ledge that matches the color of the vining in the marble in your bathroom? to bring a little earthy element in the space!
Tara I truly love watching you with ur parents. You have got to be the realist youtuber on line. I found you during lockdown with the crazy neighbor story times. I just can't stop watching. Sending lots of love from North Carolina. Tara keep being YOU girl it's very refreshing to watch.
I love your parents. I love how they're so supportive and always there to assist you without imposing on your vision. What a beautiful thing for them to do for their child. ❤️
Tara, I would consider doing a kinda fence around the AC unit instead of shrubs/trees. Keeping the trees/shrubs trimmed back and away from the unit is a pain in the ass, so if you could do a box and paint it or stain it a pretty color I think that would look SO nice and keep easy access to the unit and be easier for it to have a good airflow!
Love your videos Tara! I have been watching you forever and I don't get tired of them. I saw on Instagram how much hate you've received recently.. the nerve of people! We need to all come together now more than ever, it amazes me how people can make up negativity in their head out of complete NOTHING. You are def strong.. brush em off. Watching your videos sure helps with my depression, and even inspired me to make my own channel especially since I just bought a home myself! Won't have as much renovation as yours, but it has some haha.. wish I'd be as talented as you cos my videos are cringe ha.. You rock!
I think what this reno series taught me is that you have to be reeeally patient 😅 Its been 14 weeks and they have done soo much stuff already but there’s still a long way to go. Its looking amazing already, I can’t imagine how its gonna look when its 100% done ❤️
That ledge looks so good now, the person who did it did a great job! Also I can't remember if you had an official move-in date when everything is supposed to be done?
@@imtaramichelle Wow so earliest date would be in about one month, that's crazy! Seeing all the progress that is being made I would hope for you that it is in the first half of July (maybe celebrate independence day perhaps?) :)
Shelf’s inside that nook, top few shelves for cleaning supplies, bottom few for shoes for the front hall closet (like boots and such you use seasonally) and a broom/mop hanging rack on the bump out itself, you could probably store a vacuum in front of that bump out too! Looks like there’d probably be just enough space. That’s your solution! 😂😘
I kinda cannot believe it’s been 15 weeks but at the same time it flew by. Cannot wait for you to move in and get settled! And that fricking BLUE TILE MAN I AM OBSESSED!
Just please remember to keep that tiled shelf over the tub dry after you use that bath/shower! Standing water eats away at grout and causes it to fail much much faster, and will cause major leakage issues down the wall to the level below - potential for a two story leak/mold problem. I know you said you’ll use it for baths, so just remember to dry that off after each use and you’ll be alright! I have a dedicated squeegee that I store in the bathroom that have tiled/grouted areas that need water removed quickly for that extra care that needs to taken, makes it so easy and effortless! Good Luck!! It all really looks gorgeous!!!! ❤️
Your dad is just the sweetest and it’s so nice to see the relationship you have with him. You’re so lucky to have such supportive family, love seeing you guys together and doing this big project together
So a little advice from a horticulturalist down under... A/C will give off dry heat and make the soil a little boggy . You need a tree that can cope with this . I would recommend either a trellis with pretty vine or a small tree in a big pot on wheels. That way you can move it to get in for repairs. Tree ferns are my personal favourite. Ps love the doors 💜
The A/C cover - May I suggest an evergreen vine trained on a trellis. Many reasons why this is a good idea: 1.) You will not have to keep trimming any bushes growing into the a/c space. Bcuz it requires air space all around it. 2.) A tree trunk will take decades to become wide enough to cover the view of the a/c. Plus, never, EVER plant a tree that close to the foundation. And I do mean NEVER. 3.) There are evergreen vines that do not grow wild, and out of control lengths. AND quite often they have a flowering feature that smells dreamy. Such as a Jasmine, and Clematis vines. They have a long flowering season. But I live down South in the States, I don't know what will grow in your cold zone. So you'll have to research that. But even a nice climbing rose that ONLY grows 6 to 8 feet would work in that space too. One more thing, if you do choose a vine - stay away from any vine that reseeds itself. Those types tend to take over any space with their seeds each year. They are a real pain. The good news is that there are plenty of non-seeding vines. The house is looking great! 👍
You know what would be amazing...a frosted door for the bathroom 🧊🪞 Your house is already looking fabulous. The black hinges are 😙👌🏾✨ I changed all of my hinges to black and it’s def a vibe!
I still can’t get over the last vlog. Carter trying be a “sneaky fam” member by trying to pull a fast one on living in the new house. Also can’t believe how quickly everything is coming together now! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever so I can’t imagine how you are feeling
If you don't want a tree/bush over your window you could just do one of those decorative garden panels - or one of those flat-face water fountains :) Everything is looking great!
I think for that closet in front of the kitchen, I think you should just do a mirror on that wall. Because that would be a good corner for cleaning supplies with a shelf and hooks. If you are going to coats and stuff a mirror would help it look for like a coat closet then a cleaning closet. I cant wait for the next up date, I am excited to see the backyard and office.
As we get to this point, I am just so excited to see what the finished house tour is going to look like, compared to what it first was. It’s going to be a literal work of art!!!
I love the whole two week in one video’s I feel like you get so much more updates lol. But anyways can y’all tell how much happier she is and more bubbly, I just love her energy and how it brightens my day. So excited for her on this new journey and I wish her nothing but happiness.
Seriously just so impressed by how quickly things are moving and how efficient the construction workers are! And to also just be able to see the process like I never even thought about how railing has to go in after the floors or how you have to do the caulking and tape and muddying in stages and how you have to paint before the floorings down or even putting the handles on towards the end.. truly enjoying the process and the final products 😄😄
Could you build shelves over to the right in the closet for smaller cleaning supplies like vacuum bags, etc? And maybe put a mirror on that wall that juts out. A hanging bar to the left and in the far left tuck the swifter vacuum, etc? But extra shelf storage fir misc. to the right will always be a good call.
Your Dad is hilarious! Pretending to be a tree to give you the visual…absolutely priceless!! I can’t wait to see it all painted and finished especially that kitchen.
My boyfriend and I bought a house in February and gutted it and we just moved in a week ago, I’m so excited for you to have this same feeling we have Tara!!
For that A/C, you should try a trellis with some sort of roses or vining plants. Then if someone needs to access it, they don't have to damage your tree / shrub.
I’m a painter in Hamilton and I’m currently doing a house in both whites you’re looking at. Once the whole space is done they are VERY similar and I promise you, especially against wood floors either way you will be happy. I have the same style as you and I’m OBSESSED with how this job is coming together. You can’t lose either way!
The little changes always make a difference. I love how everything is coming together. When everything is complete and you start decorating, this house is not going to be recognizable. The houses on the market couldn’t compare to what you’ve done. 😉 ❤️

i think you could try using a grey trim in your bathroom instead of white (something that looks like the bricks behind where your shampoo & conditioner will stand) and around the window as well! it will add a nice contrast and you probably won’t have as hard of a time trying to match it with the tiles :)
I just painted my whole downstairs chantilly lace! I love it. It is so crisp and clean. Definitely like a pure white. The only thing is it can get dirty really quick. House is coming along nicely! You have a good contractor. I think the warmer white paint color looks the nicest. Mom is so cute and Dad always so positive! Loving this 💕
What if you were to put shelves in the corner of the front closet and then you could hang you Swiffer and broom on the awkward wall that comes out? So basically switch the shelves and the Swiffer in the front closet. Just an idea! Hope you're having a great day! 😊
For the closet near the front door you should put the shelves in that little awkward area and then the cleaning things on the other side or you can also just put shelves but not to many so you have room in the bottom to put your cleaning supplies in.
Reno's are sooooo stressful, but SO satisfying! Seeing your visions come together is amazing. I know I almost died doing my first bathroom reno but it's incredible and I can't wait to tackle more!
For the awkward bump out in the hall closet, what if you installed pretty hooks? Then you could hang hats, purses, scarves, dog leases, etc. It could be a fun accent wall since that’s where your eyes will likely go first as soon as you open the door(s).
Hey Tara try a clothes bar going caddycorner in your closet by the kitchen, just fill that corner space with long coats or dresses, or caddycorner shoe rack
