If I hadn't just bought a new truck I would buy this in a heartbeat. Such a great car, and almost never seen any more.
Those 96-97 4.6 liter Ford's were known for bad intake manifolds. Ford had a recall on them. I had a 97 Mercury Cougar with the 4.6 and had the intake manifold replaced twice. Do you know if the manifold has been replaced on this car?
back when I had one I had to replace mine and it cost me 2000 canadian.
@@squirtmcgee5992 if you paid that much for an intake manifold, you totally got ripped off. The 4.6 V8 went into a ton of Ford Motor Company vehicles. There's no excuse to pay that much for an intake manifold.

Intake was made of plastic (GENIUS DESIGN) and cracked with extreme temperature fluctuations. Coolant leaked. These cars were notorious for electrical issues/vacuum leaks. The optional Sport Package shown here should have been a Supercharged V8. The SVT at Ford designed a Supercharged V8 for the 1998 model year but Ford pulled the plug on Thunderbird production.
I had a Aquagreen 1996 V8. with cloth. Creampuff trade in I was the sale guy at the dealer. I bought it myself. Huge Torque, 210-215 HP. Overdrives are can get weak at 100K miles. Heater cores sometimes- Other than that Bullitt proof high speed cruiser. 13K well worth the money!

Reminds me of my father's 1993 t bird LX he traded his 1987 Iroc for the thunderbird which was crazy to me but it was a great running car his had the 4.6 litre as well

Had one
managed to fit a shortened AAM1150 on a 4 link under one of those tbirds, norther weather is really hard on vehicles. they get stuck driving in a half inch of snow without a limited slip axle/differential.
