      I like it when we find a lot of different things too. Of course a butt-pile of silver is also pretty nice from time to time.

    Very nice finds, GA, a 90%, and 40%ers, including a 1965 which in my opinion is the hardest made for circulation 40% date, I probably find more 1964's than 1965's. The clad proofs are neat, amazing how many end up in circulation. I have a few theories on how they ended up in circulations: 1.) many of the proofs sets from the 1970's and 1980's had little premium over face at times, simply no interest, and the coins were purposely spent. 2.) dealers buy entire collections to get a few coins (maybe 90% silver) and figured in improperly stored or mishandled proofs at face since they have little collector value. 3) big time coin resellers (think like newspaper/and non-collector mags) buy up hundreds to thousands of sets in bulk and turned in mishandled coins. 4) the mint dumped thousands of left over proof coins or imperfect proofs (QC pulls and collector returns) into circulation.

    Pretty good hunt, my credit union now doesn't order halves, dollars or $2 bills anymore. Have to drove to my other bank that I use for personal banking and get them there.

      @@GASilverHunter I know, it's getting harder to get them. Thankfully my other bank will order me 2-3 boxes a week, but I've been getting lots of new 2022 D.

      @PineCreekCoins 2 месяца назад +2

      And it's not the bank's fault, it's the armored car companies that don't want to bring them. They also limited me to two boxes of each regular denomination so that's what I do now. Stupid Garda World.

      I get all my CWR from the bank. You could check gas stations or grocery stores. you can try other banks in your area if your main bank doesn't sell them.

  • @robbernath

    5:50 - pretty sure the red "x" you discounted as some sort of damage is a mint rejection mark to indicate this coin should've been destroyed or perhaps it was done by a teller at a bank also to indicate the need to return for destruction. Either way, that's not damage or indiscriminate disfiguring. And it would be foolish of you to use acetone to remove that marking - would be taking away additional value. That's up to you, though.

    • @GASilverHunter

      You apparently didn't watch until the end. Mark is already gone. Also don't believe the mint writes on coins if they are going to destory them. They just destroy them.
