My new favorite person to watch! I recently discovered you on social media and then RUclips and I’m sad I didn’t find you sooner but I’m so glad I did! I absolutely LOVE your channel and this video was EVERYTHING! So articulate, beautiful, chic, stylish. Just the epitome of Black Girl Magic! Love to see it and thank you so much for sharing with us.
That was such a great video. I love how you’re assertive about YOU yet so aware of your privileges as well. That’s a quality people shed as they make it “big”.
I appreciate your transparency. Your content is so warm & inviting. I leave feeling motivated & so happy.. Happy to see another Black woman thriving with style!!! Yassssssss hunni 👏🏾
I think you are amazing! I wish people could understand that poor does not mean uneducated or having a lack of pride. I love your story. You are the American dream that some folks are realizing can actually include any one who is able to work hard, which is ,of course,a privilege. Your parents did not raise you to see you yourself as less. I wish we as Black people would raise our kids to love and believe in themselves. As a Haitian American, I was raised to take pride in my appearance, to reach for the stars, to treat everyone with respect and to know that I am the decedents of those who survived mass abduction, torture, and because of them I can be or do anything. We as Black people are amazing! We are not perfect because we are human, but we should be in awe of our grace! I live in nyc as well. I hope to run into you. I love to travel as well. Can you talk about traveling during the Pandemic.
Your family sounds like mine💕. I grew up in Detroit, in an neighborhood call Black Bottom. My parents are from Montgomery, AL. I went to MSU in Lansing MI. I grew up in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Majored in Police Administration. Worked for a police department and a fire department. We have to teach our children their history ( truth), and push education. Those are the important things that help us thrive. I love dressing well, looking good and I learned this from my mom and the ladies in the hood. To always be “done” when you step outside. Look at travel as education.
Africa is in the house yesssss , I’m from Mauritania 🇲🇷 west Africa but lives now in USA My oldest daughter is a RUclipsr as well and advocate a lot for social justice and I love it. My first time coming across your channel and love it
As a Minnesota girl this warmed my heart. I definitely can relate to having a geographic soulmate Puerto Rico is mine specifically El Yunque in the mountains and Loíza (minus the mosquitos lol).
Thank you for sharing ! I really loved what you said about 20 something's have so much more access to luxury names they may not have had pre- content creation/influencer era- it can really be a bit much and feel like you got to have the latest thing (in an unsustainable manner too). It's just a reminder that 1) ppl we follow can have 5 -10 yrs in life experience on you and 2) it starts of small, by focusing on the things that matter to you personally, everything soon comes after . Thanks for sharing some of your story Tenicka!
I love how you said luck played a part as well! For us working hard is a must, but success is not always guaranteed with how things are systematically unfortunately. But we should definitely continue to strive for success!
WOW! I love everything I heard about you so glad you shared this with us, am so happy to know you more, You're living a purposeful life, from childhood having a well Guided, Grounded & Smart parents have really shown who you are and I can tell you love everything about Africa and its authentic Blackness. Much love 💓💞
Thank you for sharing. I think sometimes people think when they watch You Tubers that they do not have a life outside of RUclips. Thanks for showing that we all can reinvent ourselves and do things that we really love even though we are still paying for our previous life through student loans. It's nice to see someone who looks like me , with a similar background with HBCU roots, spread the love of fashion and lifestyle. You have earned it!! I am not a You Tuber just yet but I am on my way . I love your channel and thank you for being a great representation of a Queen. I live in the Mid - West ( Chi- Town) but from Tennessee. My father graduated from TSU. I went to Lane College ( down the street, lol) .. therefore you get the fist in the air from me,lol!! Great job and nice getting to know you:)
THANK YOU so much for sharing more about yourself. I started following you on Instagram bc I want to elevate my style. I have a very similar body shape... small waist, curvy hips. I love that fact that you don’t try to cover up your shape or stray away from colors. Far too often we see influencers buy designer and the audience doesn’t know their backstory or where the inspiration comes from. You working for the ACLU is so admirable!!! look at you leaving your mark on the world in such beautiful ways. GO girrrllllllll! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Wow your background in race and policy is inspiring! I just earned a graduate degree in ethical studies surrounding the urban community and hearing how other Black women move throughout the field is great to hear and learn from.
Wow! This is such an awesome video! I have watched some of your hauls and was impressed with them but with this video, Girl, I am blown away! Your essence is the real deal! I am a Nigerian lady currently living in America and you have no idea how proud I am getting to know you a bit better! I can feel the motherland (Africa) beaming with pride with all that you are!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🥰🥰
I would love to see how you store and organized your clothes and accessories in your small New York City apartment, I have an ikea pax wardrobe and I manage to carve out a small space in the master bedroom to create a makeshift walk in closet. I know your home, office and closet must be bomb because you have a lot of beautiful pieces. Can’t wait for you to share!
Love, love , love this!!! I grew up in the Midwest as well between the hood and burbs by a single mother. She took African-American courses in school and taught us the same. My Grandmother watched Malcolm X preach on the streets of Harlem. I love to see a beautiful, black woman and family living a fulfilled life. Congrats Sis! You’re a motivation.
I subbed! You DAH BOMB gurl! Your talk, your style, your wokeness, your authenticity, your personality...! It’s everything fah me! ! I’m here for it all!

I am a new subscriber and I really enjoyed this upload. I enjoyed your travel and NYFW content videos. Good luck and I know your numbers will jump to 100K this year.
I so thoroughly enjoyed listening to your biography. It was heartwarming, entertaining, super interesting, funny and relatable. I believe I saw you during NFW on another influencer's channel and possibly IG but never stopped by your channel. This particular video you were doing a Q & A and I decided to check you out. Listening to you talk about growing up in a working class family and your circuitous path to NYC brought back many memories for me 😊. You love living in the City and I remember praying to God if He let me out I wouldn't come back lol. I was a flight attendant there and it's a long story. Anyway, one thing is for sure. If you can make it in NY you can make it anywhere in the world. The ACLU does great work and I contribute from time to time via the texts. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments. And exposing your daughter to the invaluable experiences of travel is a wonderful gift to her. Looking forward to more videos from you and will check out your other ones. Thanks again, a new subscriber 🥰.
Midwest Gurl 💙 City Gurl….every year in the winter, I say I’m leaving Chicago but then spring/summer/fall comes and there’s no place I’d rather be for more than a few days!!
Wowwwwwww I’m currently making that transition from just me to having a baby and being in a deep relationship lol he’s an introvert too lol lol I was so afraid of the whole once you have a kid you lose yourself concept so the fact that you decided to find yourself through it is really amazing. Between trying to build my RUclips channel and build my brand and now being a new mom I’m like man will I have to sit down lol lol. I love that your doing this. So much inspiration. Everyone story ain’t the same but hearing each other’s really helps motivate and push us to do great things! I love this! I love your education background. Amazing!
Thank you so much for being so transparent, you're so amazing, I truly enjoy watching your content and I also follow you on Pinterest, I really appreciate you letting me in and sharing.
Queen, I feel like I’m stalking you. Lol! I first started following you on TikTok, and Instagram. Now, I’m here with you on RUclips. I love your content. Great representation. ❤️👏🏽👏🏽👑💐
I'm new to following you... found you on tik tok! I love your style. I would like to get into luxury as well specifically bags and jewelry/accessories. In my mid-40s, have no kids, 2-income household and do fine financially, but I still feel guilty for some reason for spending on luxury items. Not sure if it's b/c of student loans or if it's just a mental block of some sort. Anyhoo, I'm glad I found your channel!
I enjoyed this! New subscriber! I love your rooted realness in your culture , the fact that you’re sharing , and how your upbringing was not a victim mentality

I love you even more now! I totally get it, born in NY + I miss it every day lol like I said you make me miss the city 🖤
Queen, I feel like I’m stalking you. Lol! I first started following you on TikTok, and Instagram. Now, I’m here with you on RUclips. I love your content. Great representation. ❤️👏🏽👏🏽👑💐
I appreciate it!
Love me all of Tenicka. Keep flying Queen ❤️❤️❤️
