I like the round date window on this. It's small, sort of color matched. What I like most about the date is that it has been leveled. Can't stand dates that are tilted giving one the urge to tilt the head slightly to read it.🤨 Totally agree about the bracelet & clasp. I'm gonna take it one step further; where's the doggone wetsuit extension?🤔 This is the first ISO Certified ⌚ I've seen without one 🧐.
I own all the Helm models and am waiting to get the white dial Ti Khuraburi and the Miyako is a true sleeper too me. I first didn't feel like I would bond with it, but it actually became one of my favorites.
Just got mine last week! One year wait. Blue. Stunning, enjoy to look at!! Only issue (if I make it one), replacing the strap with your own is a challenge because the spring bars are almost touching the case. I tried a thin leather one piece single pass NATO, and could not get it through. There are options though, so I will have to shop. There is a strap called RAF, which is a nice thin single pass strap.
I have a black miyako and a white dial komodo, of the two it's the komodo everyday and twice on Tuesdays! The Miyako is an absolute scorcher, the bezel is super tight and wears beautifully, my only complaint is the clasp but this is easily resolved by just ordering the same clasp used on the komodo. The other thing about Helm is the service, Matt is a superstar and the customer service is second to none, just incredible. I'm lucky enough to be getting the titanium kiriburi ver soon and just can't wait!
I love the date at the 4:30 position, I really love the design of this watch, It has good readability, it gives me all my hour markers, it has the date window, the hands are the correct lengths for the dial format. It is just beautiful, unfortunately the lug to lug is a little long with me if it had female end links giving it a 46mm lug to lug I would be buying one of these if I could get my hands on one. I am not really a dive watch guy but this one is a winner with the date window being one of my favorite aspects of this watch.
I have to point out how good that bezel seems to me.. I love the fact that it is sapphire and those clicks so solid, and then you have the fact that it has lume on It!
I really appreciate you covering this watch from Helm. The watch itself looks great and the issues with the bracelet a bit surprising. I have the khuraburi and absolutely love it! The bracelet doesn’t taper either but otherwise is extremely well built. I like your honesty. Well done 🥃
I have a Vanuatu Ti and this one. Love them both and I'm slowly putting together "the set" so to speak. Having said that I am searching out the perfect clasp for this one. I too feel like the clasp is underwhelming. The rest of the watch however is a work of art IMO.
I already have a Komodo and a Vanuatu and have just had a heads up email that my Miyako is nearly ready. I was a bit on the fence with this design but I'm going to get it anyway. I wasn't sure about which colour to go for so was looking on their website and discovered that as of the 1st of August 24 they have introduced a no date version using the 9039. I guess I'll be one of the first to get one.🙂
@@cultoffreedom9068 I went for the no date blue. It's nice to have the date but it's small to the point of being useless on this watch. No date also means no messing about with setting.
Thorough review. Agree about date position etc. Also agree with all the negatives. Do like the look and that they are using 9000 movements, but yes they have other nicer models. Love the back but also would love an exhibition case option. Good size for me.
Chris, if interested I have all the Helm models in my collection including 2 of the newer titanium models still in shipping packages if your looking to review the other models. Personally I love all the versions, but this one is my favorite simply because I'm a Blancpain fan.
Ive had this watch for 6 months. It was my affordable grail for a while, but ultimately im selling it. My wrist is small at 6.6 inches and the bracelet actually contributed to a shoulder injury with its lack of taper. I do love the 4.30 date window, its perfect. The design details are awesome and the bezel action is satisfying. But at the end of the day, i regret spending money on it and not just saving for a Christopher Ward Aquitaine GMT
@@younusimam-thesalamproject6340 I’m on the waiting list for this watch. I understand the later versions have a revised clasp to offer more adjustment, I think it’s available as an after sale for those with an early edition.
I have just received my Miyako, and the clasp has been changed to one with four holes for micro adjustment, and the clasp is also a lot more solid. I don't know if you got a bad watch, but I put the bracelet on, and I have to say that it is one of the easiest fitting bracelets I have ever installed on a watch. I think that you have just been unlucky, and I agree that the bracelet needs a bit more of a taper. 2mm is not enough.
Late to the party, but I respectfully disagree with your remarks. This watch I find to be almost perfect. I like date complication in a place where it doesn’t break dial symmetry, and here is in the best place possible. I like the bracelet in that it doesn’t taper down too much. I find this to be very rare. I do agree with you in that this watch needs a higher end movement. The 9039 would have been better match to this beauty! But you can’t beat that price
I'm Number 2868 on the waiting list, and loved it when I first saw it, but as time goes on, I think I may pass on it, and get the Vanuatu (5830 on wait list)
You will probably win one of the raffle's they have. I was 5000th inline for a KHURABURI, then all of a sudden, I received an email that got picked in a random raffle and bam, now I have one. I've gotten 3 Helms in about 5 years' time, so just watch out for the email, it will happen when you least expect it..
Hmm .... If they're going 50 fathoms/polaris.. Would rather not have it modernized so much..... Someone like this just be more elegant. Everything is off.... Even the huge chunk and lack of taper on the bezel kill the aesthetic for me. Now Helm Tennessee to go way to chunky for me in general. Lovely tool watches though.... So well built. But it really, really didn't work for me going with a vintage aesthetic. Thanks for the review though.
I never have the money when they have the watch I want So I always move on to something else but love the brand maybe one day I'll score No Worries Thanks for sharing my friend 👍
I've never heard of thus brand but will definitely check them out. I love this channel because of this reason you bring out so many different micro brands on here that I've never heard of. I love it thanks watchchris for bringing out the micro brands.
I have all the Helm watches. They are amazing. I have owned 4 of these. I wanted to like it but never kept. The quality of this model is not anywhere near the same. Helm bracelets are 10 out of 10. This one is terrible.
Yeah the sign part on the NATO is on the other side of the of the pin and buckle they do that so it doesn't take away from the aesthetics. I'm still taking back by your reviews and I think I'm done I don't know how anybody reviews and watch if they don't wear it for at least a couple days or a week. All you do is you say I thank this and I think that you act like you haven't seen the watch before you even start your video it makes no sense reviews are to be of a watch that you know something about you have no clue about what you're talking about you say I think this and I think that ridiculous .

The nato is free and it is signed on the underside. Really well made. So either not the original nato or has changed from the 4 I got with mine.

@Bondpit yes it has been improved. I've actually kept it! I really love this watch and I've realized it fits well on straps.
I don't see enough design ques to relate it directly to either the 50 fathom or the Polaris

Seaweed??? Those are waves bro.

HELM makes really decent timepieces...unfortunately this model isn't one of them. Not much thought was put into the design in my opinion.
A homage to a watch that it looks nothing like...
OK, that is NOT an homage to 50 Phatoms, nor Polaris. Simple as that. Badly worded
