This system could make sense if they introduced more unique powers. For instance Krillins destructo disc was a serious threat for Freeza who was infinitely stronger than him. DB needed more unique techniques like that.
Not infinitely stronger besides what was krillins power level again, oh right 75 thousand or thereabouts whereas second form Freiza was somewhere over 1 million probably 1,060, 00 which is twice 530,000 so that makes the destructo disc 20 times the users power at a minimum kinda like how the Kamehameha is a 2.5 times multiplier for the users power.
They still didn’t compare to the high tier fighters nor could they fight them to a stand still.I mean krillin and the other humans were the first people to get eliminated so what he said still kind of applies.
See, this is why I like things like JoJo and Kill La Kill. Sure, some ridiculous feats still exist here and there, but in the end, the most important factor in winning their battles is figuring out the opponent's weakness or blind spot, or pulling some other tactic. Here's a good JoJo example: Polnareff and Kakyoin's battle with The Hanged Man, the Stand of J. Geil/Centerfold which seemingly attacks from within mirrors. The two eventually realize that The Hanged Man is essentially a ball of light that has to jump from one reflection to the next, so Polnareff rigs its next path to a more predictable point (the first case is making it jump from the reflection in a boy's eye to his own eye). This allows his Silver Chariot to strike it as it moves. When J. Geil/Centerfold calls a crowd of beggars to surround the two heroes - allowing The Hanged Man to jump between many eyes - Kakyoin rigs its next path again by drawing their attention to a shiny coin that he tosses high into the air. And for Kill La Kill, there's also several. But let's go with Ryuko's battle with Gamagori during the Naturals Election. His Shackle Regalia acts as an armor for the Scourge Regalia within, blocking any attack Ryuko deals to him and gaining power from the strikes. So, Ryuko allows herself to get pulled toward the Scourge Regalia as the Shackle form re-wraps itself around her, and then Senketsu sprouts blades all over himself to shred the Shackle Regalia from inside. This leaves Gamagori's Scourge Regalia open to the Life Fiber-cutting blow.
@DesertBandit EXACTLY why I dropped JoJo at Golden Wind, stands are walking asspulls and hax machines. They make everything less interesting by making a musical reference to everything, not a bad concept to make musical references but it's abused by part 4 through 8 to the point where JoJo died at part 3 in my opinion. Stands take away the hard work hamon clearly required to master, no strifes, less characterizations, less interesting villains. Dio was the reason JoJo blew up in the first place, then punch ghosts became a trend that makes no sense at all that further takes away the enjoyment of reading JoJo, it cheapens the value of JoJo all together
@@kmslyda4530 With hamon or vampiric powers you can get better with training and developing techniques and new methods of conducting hamon, but with stands if you born with awful stand you're doomed.
Naruto absolutely had a great power system at first. You had three different combat styles each one with its own subcategories. You could be a god tier melee fighter but get overwhelmed by a mentalist fighter who uses genjutsu. Unfortunately the series ditched it in Shipudden because everyone had such a hard on for Sasuke.
That's why I love Pokémon. Even if you have a legendary here you can still get beated by a lower level common Pokémon with the right element, abilities, moves, items and strategy. Being a legendary means that you have some special skills and abilities, or just a higher number, but you can still be beated if someone are using the right Pokémons.
Not even a Roshambo element of some kind to shake things up...When a story pretty much limits everything to just number vs. number, it gets really bland really fast. And it definitely hampers creativity and emphasis in skill.

"Skill means Jack S**t" Truth. Super forgot this was a thing, the fact that Krillin and Roshi are in the Univeral tournament makes this quite clear.

Tell that to part 5 and 7 of JoJo. Part 7 used sheer hax with stands
@DesertBandit Thank YOU! Stands ruined JoJo
agreed, it made JoJo more interesting

In my opinion power levels weren't written as well
Fascinating, thank you
Well this video aged well considering battle power is pointless in Super.
Jiren literally over powered time stop with battle power alone
Huh.
