Depends on where you want your source of light to come from. Have a family member stand directly under the room light then look at their face. Then have them move to the left or right and look at the shadows and highlights.
I literally watch all your videos and take notes. I also did some practicing and I screen recorded me doing everything you’ve taught. Can’t wait to post it on my yt to show how much I’ve learned!! Thank you so muchhh
Trying to get a hang of using Adobe Illustrator & am working on a drawing of Goku for practice, then I come across this tutorial lol. Thanks man. :) Love how you always get to the point!
bro your vids are the best. you get straight to the point. I learn so much more and faster with you than anyone else on youtube. Thanks man. just so you know you make this S**t look easy tho lol
I'm coming from 2 years later but this is so helpful, thank you! 😭🖤 I for some reason learn better when its taught like this too - chill vibe, no complicated explanations/words + a splash of meme lmao Tysm 🙏🏽
this is amazing, this is exactly how I do it on photoshop. I make a copy of lineart and keep at the top, then the base colours at the bottom, and shadows/highlights in the inbetween layer! Wow you just made things seem so much simpler and straightforward.
What am I missing - when I right click, it says isolate paths - I then choose Group and then I can choose isolate group - but I it doesn't select all the parts like your video. It just selects either the background or the the lines.
I don't have isolate selected group but isolate selected path. Every time I click isolate selected path, the whole rectangle box is that colour and not the image behind it. This is after I merged too. Please help?
whenever i try to merge the colour with the lineart, it just all converts to black. (trying to do the step at 3:20) is anyone else having the problem? how do i fix this?
Love this video and love how he explains things at a normal pace. Some of those tutorials having you speed your work just cause they know what they are doing. Dope stuff
Bro says he’s gonna get to the point and literally doesn’t add a single color for 3 minutes 😂 - great tutorial though and nice drawing skills! Keep doing your thing! Thumbs up!
this is a real dope step by step video. I'm just beginning getting into adobe illustrator. does this concept still work with the updated version of illustrator and without a pen?
I swear illustrator is insanely complicated for no reason

OMG THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ILLUSTRATOR TUTORIALS , I HAVE BEEN STUCK FOR DAYS TO COLORISZE BUT THIS IS DOPEEEEEEEE
The only problem i face is deciding where to put shadows
Abdullah Al-Mulla I know right? I have one of those art figures but I still have problems with face and clothing shadows.
Depends on where you want your source of light to come from. Have a family member stand directly under the room light then look at their face. Then have them move to the left or right and look at the shadows and highlights.
I followed every step exactly and it works great for me! So much faster than what I've been doing before. Thank you!!
I literally watch all your videos and take notes. I also did some practicing and I screen recorded me doing everything you’ve taught. Can’t wait to post it on my yt to show how much I’ve learned!! Thank you so muchhh
