That left foot action of playing the foot cowbell and hi-hat alternately while executing poly-rhythms around the kit is extraordinary!!! He also uses that foot cowbell to play different Claves while playing complex patterns around the kit too...the man is GRUESOME...RESPECT!!!
He's a freaking master. At the same time, I hope that people don't shy away from the clave or from Latin music because of how difficult it can be to play. Horacio grew up playing this stuff in Cuba. He went to music school there and studied this material in depth. So what we're seeing here is years and years of practice. The rest of are capable of playing at this level too.
