  • Ingredients
    Black chickpeas - 2 cups
    Onion - 2 nos
    Ginger - 1 nos
    Garlic - 6 to 7 nos
    Curry leaves - 3 to 4 sprigs
    Tomatoes - 1 nos
    Grated coconut - 1 cup
    Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
    Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
    Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
    Pepper powder - 1/2 tbsp
    Garam masala - 1 tbsp
    fennel seed - 1 tbsp
    Salt - 1 or 2 tbsp
    Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
    Method
    Firstly we have to crush ginger and garlic ,set aside.
    Then soak the chickpeas for one or two hours.
    Then dried the soaked chickpeas and set a side.
    Heat oil in a pan Add green chilli ,curry leaves and chopped onion .
    Saute them well.
    Then add salt and saute till the onion become transulant.
    Add crushed ginger and garlic mix,saute them well.
    Then add some curry powders like red chilli powder ,coriander powder ,pepper powder ,garam masala ,crushed fennel seed and turmeric powder
    Saute them well for few minutes.
    Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they become soften .
    Then add soaked chickpeas and saute them well.
    Pour sufficient amount of water and mix them well.
    Cover and cook them well.
    Take a bowl add grated coconut and water ,Squeeze them well .
    Drain and keep aside.
    Remove the lid and check whether the chickpeas is well cooked or not.
    Then add coconut milk ,mix and cook them well.
    Add some curry leaves,green chilli and salt ,saute them well.
    Remove from fire and set aside.
    Serve the tasty chickpeas curry with appam
