The nasty rumors that went around in high school about his death, the things I believed as a kid back then, I'm disappointing in myself. Proud that they are all from my city. What a beautifully directed piece. Thank you Kevin Ferguson.
Me and one of my buddies met Kimbo at a Belator event not too long before he passed away and he was nothing but respectful and friendly. He was as real a it gets and when I told him I was a Jr black belt in Tae Kwon Do his response was "oh so you're a kicker huh" and I said yes and he was like "I know for a fact you could out kick me" and I was maybe 140 pounds at the time and I couldn't believe how pure he was for a dude growing up brawling in the streets of miami. When he passed away I cried like a baby because of how friendly and just pure he was with me and my buddy, two random 20 year Olds. Rip Kimbo. Thank you for being the way you were. They say you had a large heart, and that's 100 percent the truth.
I remember being a kid on the EARLY days of youtube when you had to watch anime episodes 7-8 mins at a time. Watching those early Kimbo fights was the only entertainment we really had on this platform and it felt unreal. He was like a mythical Black Super Hero. Being a huge MMA fan, I was super excited to see a literal street fighter make the transition to MMA. In another universe I would have loved to have seen him in boxing which suited his strength better. RIP
@@speedracerjeff So what that he sucked? He's still a combat legend. First one to make it mainstream on the internet. Considering how he late he became pro, so pretty missed many years of basics/fundamentals, his career was ok. But what makes him a legend is his legacy.
It’s ironic how wholesome the man was. You’d expect him to be this hardened gangster who was cold blooded, ruthless…but from all accounts, it seems that Kevin was one of the nicest guys ever. And that makes me so incredibly happy.
its ironic that you think he was wholesome. he's a good dude. you could say he had some lebel of morls compared to street contemporaries, but saying he's "wholesome" is bs. go watch some 700 club or family matters if you want wholesome.
@Wesley Hempoli This is one of the dumbest comments I’ve ever read lol. If you watched this entire video and didn’t get ‘wholesome’ vibes, something is wrong with you, not me. From his loyalty to and consideration of his friends, as well as, the dedication he showed to his family, the irony is in the fact that the vast majority of people who didn’t know him expected him to be some sort of ruthless monster because of his fighting style coupled with his hardcore physical presentation. “Some lebel of morls”? Gtfoh with your no-spelling self 😂
Wholesome doesnt mean timid. Ive met Kimbo im from Miami. He was approachable and treated us like he knew us. he was a huge man but extremely extremely humble and approachable. I met him b4 his MMA debut so he was even bigger
When Mike talks about the only time he ever heard Kimbo mention being Scared....that really tore me up inside . Those 2 had such a great and beautiful friendship. Very inspiring. Fills you up with so much Happiness inside.
Kimbo you were the original Top G. I remember watching all of your fights in 9th grade tech class on ebaums world in the early 2000s. We used to make up stories about you man. You will always be a legend and inspiration to us all.
I mean whoever is the producer and people behind the scenes this is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen and this guy was just awesome we all seen him grow up late in his career and we all hated when he died. It's just amazing he's surrounded by family and friends while he was on his adventure I think that's the best part of all this.
Kimbo Slice had a profound influence on us in our late teen years. One of the boys in our neighborhood looked and fought like him. I named him Kimbo Slice. Will never forget how he ate those shots from Big D. So sad a warrior has to pass on so soon. He will forever be in our hearts and minds. Would have loved to see him in comic books, merch and films. RIP Kimbo Slice. Much Love form Accra, Ghana to Mike, Baby Slice and his Mom.
I love that you can hear Mike yelling "FERGGGG" in his street fights because he was one of the old school friends who knew him way before the Kimbo days. i loved Kimbo, so sad he's gone. He truly was a legend.
You see those big scary muscular dudes looking vicious and seeing videos like these you realize how he was not only the legendary street fighter but he was somebody's little boy, somebody's everything and the sunshine in their life. This video in the first 60 seconds made me tear up RIP king always will remember you and you're legendary fighting and insane charisma and good heart.
I remember stumbling onto his early street fight videos from RUclips when I was in college... as somebody who did a little fighting myself I was impressed. Its weird, the guys who are the most brutal in the ring are the most humble and kind outside of the ring.
30min. documentary took me over an hour to watch because I kept rewinding and rewatching parts. Learned a lot more about Kimbo than I knew before. Very well done. His friend Mike is a hell of a good person and I love that he's still watching out for Kimbo's son. Hey momma, he kept that promise, he was famous!
I was living in South Fl when Kimbo filmed that first backyard fight. The video went viral before viral was a thing. I knew then he was different. The fact that he wasnt just a warrior in the ring but actually a good dude literally just trying to fight for his life makes his story that much more compelling. Gone too soon. Long Live King Kimbo & salute to his manager Icey Mike
As a struggling single father of three, trying to find where he belongs, stories like this are so inspiring. To be a true alpha, you must be tough enough to be a leader but gentile enough to empathize with the weak. R.I.P. Kimbo. You are an inspiration and a proper example of integrity.
Nah. Alpha shit is bullshit. Alphas die young b. Men raise the next generation. Confrontation is largely unnecessary, and often death is avoidable. You're a father of three. You're already more alpha than any punk, Chad , or badass. You're a fucking MAN. Go do your thing man. Look around you. This is what winning looks like.
Kimbo first blew up online my senior year of high school, I remember binge watching all his fights on RUclips at my best friend’s house, it’s crazy to see what he turned that into #RipKimbo
Same. Th rumors that went around his death were off too. Like that he got shot working security at an opalocka flee market? Why did I believe that? Poor guy.
This is a man you can feel. In your heart. In your soul. A real man. A man aspiring men want to be like. That guy. That guy right there. That's the man. Why? I don't know there's just something about him. He's got that something. That something special. When God pours that special love on you everybody knows it. Everybody. Kimbo didn't die. Kimbo graduated life. Not many men do. Kimbo did. Kimbo is special in a special way. I'm actually crying right now because he has so much love. Ahhh man.... You are the man my man. You are the man!
True definition of fighting for what you want in life. Never gave up. Willing to change up the game plan. And stayed loyal. Street fighting icon. RIP Kimbo
I remember growing up watching his fight on RUclips... ever since I have always been a fan of his. Even though he maybe gone, he's never forgotten. Still one of my favorite fighters! RIP Kimbo Slice.
This video makes me sad and makes me smile at the same time. To hear all the good things people has to say about him makes me happy. Fighting doesn’t make you a bad person. It’s just another sport. Kimbo shows how good of a sweet person you can be while being a beast in the ring.
26:22 This absolutely broke me, it really drives home why Mike is there, why he was with Kimbo. Mike wasn’t on his corner for the money, he didn’t make an appearance in this documentary for the clout, he was on his corner to support his friend, and he was in this video to honor and remember his real one☝️💯
I'm almost 43 years old. I've been a fan of Kimbo since circa the internet starting to even be a thing. That part where he said Kimbo said he was scared... ooof!!! Got me. Great doc!! Salute
Best Kimbo documentary ever !!!! This was a man among men. A role model for all men. R.I.P. Kimbo, your missed around this planet. Tears are in my eyes right now. We lost one of our best ❤
I was in the same school as Kimbo. One time a kid said to him 'you aint never gonna be 'nuttin', you aint shit', and Kimbo said 'Well, we can have it after school and I'mma show you!'... That night after school Kimbo beat up the kid with a single punch, then 3 other kids rushed him at the same time and he dropped each one. This comment will probably get lost in the sea of the comments here but yeah we knew in high school we aint gona mess with him after that.
Thanks for sharing your story with us. This was one of favorites. Kimbo was the G.O.A.T. of street fighting. Thank you for sharing this little piece of your life with us. We will be forever grateful.
He knew he was dying... at that very moment... he wanted to stand and fight and die doing what he’s always done! I remember as a kid my dad showing me his fights on RUclips! I stared watching mma a little before he got on the scene! Watched his whole mma career on ultimate fighter! To me he is a ultimate fighter! Love you Kembo!
Y'all have no idea how long I've waited for a Kimbo Slice documentary! I live in Vanuatu in the South Pacific and I remember the early days of RUclips nearly everyone in our neighborhood had a Kimbo Slice video in their phones. What an inspiration he was to all of us.
I remember watching his fight videos on RUclips as a teenager and thinking how bad ass he was and that he just looked absolutely terrifying. But then as he began to get some more mainstream popularity and we seen him in interviews and then on the ultimate fighter with the ufc we started to see and learn just what a humble a nice guy he really was. He seemed to be such an awesome and kind dude. We lost him way too soon.
Kimbo lifted his entire family up and left them set up to do better in the future... most... that should be the goal of everyone... especially a father... even a son wants to lift his family up.... so Kimbo can rest in peace, mission success 🙌
I remember watching his videos like "man I wish I could be like this guy!" Watching him helped me develop the courage to stand up for myself. I thought "if he's not afraid of nothing, why should I be?" I watched all of his RUclips videos in middle school. I know that I don't know him or his family but I'm appreciative for the contributions he made to the world. And I miss him from the standpoint of a fan. I never had a father figure in my life, so when it came to figuring out how to navigate the world and stand up for what I believe in, I looked to Kimbo. I was pretty timid back then and got bullied for being the skinny guy with big glasses. I'd watch and imitate what I saw Kimbo doing to defend myself the best way I could. RIP Kimbo!
First I watch Patrick Gavias' short doc about the injustice done to Kamaro Usman and Father that brought me to tears, then, the algorithm throws this in my face...Man, there's something about seeing the relationships between Kimbo, Mike, son and Mama that made me feel like I lost a beloved family member named Ferg. Genuinely brings me to tears. I can't believe The Lord took him from us like that. I'm gonna keep following and supporting Baby Slice till we're all dead and gone. One love, everybody

The nasty rumors that went around in high school about his death, the things I believed as a kid back then, I'm disappointing in myself. Proud that they are all from my city. What a beautifully directed piece. Thank you Kevin Ferguson.
@GSP UFC and stuff your name is andrewtategoat you meat rider 🤣🤣 imagine having to use another man’s name as your own 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What was the rumours?
What was the rumours?

Gay.

@@balocke2063 its a joke, son. That was a pretty cool story about meeting a famous fighter.
RIP
👌👌
I forgot about that. Chunin exams, AMVs, Kimbo fights and smosh
He made me really love fighting. Those early RUclips videos of kimbo and those world star days
Especially when you think that he was already in his mid 30s when he started going pro an learn MMA, that’s huge.
Imagine if he was trained from an early age.
RIP Kimbo 😞 Always loved never forgotten
A warrior, a teacher , a father, but most of all a good man. RIP KIMBO
Im shocked that this hasn't blown up. The production is insane.
i mean UFC is partly a media company but yes it was a very good docu
Edit: Zuffa rather
He sucked when he turned Pro. Was only good against Bums on the street.
226k views in 2 weeks for a channel with less than 6k subs is decent. In some years this will hit millions.
@@speedracerjeff
So what that he sucked? He's still a combat legend. First one to make it mainstream on the internet. Considering how he late he became pro, so pretty missed many years of basics/fundamentals, his career was ok. But what makes him a legend is his legacy.
@@speedracerjeff have him over anyone in a streetfight
It’s ironic how wholesome the man was. You’d expect him to be this hardened gangster who was cold blooded, ruthless…but from all accounts, it seems that Kevin was one of the nicest guys ever. And that makes me so incredibly happy.
its ironic that you think he was wholesome. he's a good dude. you could say he had some lebel of morls compared to street contemporaries, but saying he's "wholesome" is bs. go watch some 700 club or family matters if you want wholesome.
@Wesley Hempoli
This is one of the dumbest comments I’ve ever read lol.
Not what ironic means
@@wesleyhempoli5548 it's not a competition
Wholesome doesnt mean timid. Ive met Kimbo im from Miami. He was approachable and treated us like he knew us. he was a huge man but extremely extremely humble and approachable. I met him b4 his MMA debut so he was even bigger
KIMBO AND HIS FAMILY ARE SUCH GOOD PEOPLE.. The world misses Kimbo! Bless his friends and family. Thanks for the memories
They also have a Judo Olympian in their family tree. Gifted athletes.
This is one documentary that can just make you teary-eyed. RIP Kimbo
Wow, I just wanna give Ms. Clarke the biggest hug possible. Much love from Albany New York.
I knew Masvidal was a street fighter, but never knew he was discovered by Kimbo, that's crazy.
Real recognizes Real.
I actually got emotional watching this, I never realized how much of a impact he had on me.
😊
Man I’m realizing this fact too smh RIP kimbo

I came to the comments after watching this to say the exact same two things you just said.

Rest in peace Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson 🕊🌹
I'm from the UK and loved watching those street fights as a kid, good luck to his son!
His mother is so proud of him. Truly a beautiful homage. Respect to his friend and manager for honoring his memory by standing by his son.
Have to say this is such a well made documentary and tribute to Kimbo's life and legacy. Very impressive.
💯..Real tlk
Kimbo Slice had a profound influence on us in our late teen years. One of the boys in our neighborhood looked and fought like him. I named him Kimbo Slice. Will never forget how he ate those shots from Big D. So sad a warrior has to pass on so soon. He will forever be in our hearts and minds. Would have loved to see him in comic books, merch and films. RIP Kimbo Slice. Much Love form Accra, Ghana to Mike, Baby Slice and his Mom.
Mrs.Slice is a awesome lady you can tell how sweet she is , what a great momma!!! Hugs ,kisses and love Mrs Slice
Man this hit me in my feelings. Rip kimbo 🥺
U ain't the only one
That Part 🥤
For Real Man You Can Feel The Love He Put Out & The Love Everybody Had For Him Was Such Great Energy!! Damn It Man He's Gone Way To Soon... 😔😔😔
NGL that closing music with the photo almost got me. 😪🙏🏽
@Andrewtategoat1 says a sad little man who thinks Tate is some kind of goat.
You can tell Momma Slice is proud of her son and everything he was able to accomplish.
I love that you can hear Mike yelling "FERGGGG" in his street fights because he was one of the old school friends who knew him way before the Kimbo days. i loved Kimbo, so sad he's gone. He truly was a legend.
Yeah they were like brothers.
💯💯
You see those big scary muscular dudes looking vicious and seeing videos like these you realize how he was not only the legendary street fighter but he was somebody's little boy, somebody's everything and the sunshine in their life. This video in the first 60 seconds made me tear up RIP king always will remember you and you're legendary fighting and insane charisma and good heart.
I remember stumbling onto his early street fight videos from RUclips when I was in college... as somebody who did a little fighting myself I was impressed. Its weird, the guys who are the most brutal in the ring are the most humble and kind outside of the ring.
Legendary human, larger than life. We were lucky to be around during his time, Rest In Peace Kimbo.
This Documentary is well thought out and put together. Rest Easy Kimbo!
30min. documentary took me over an hour to watch because I kept rewinding and rewatching parts. Learned a lot more about Kimbo than I knew before. Very well done. His friend Mike is a hell of a good person and I love that he's still watching out for Kimbo's son. Hey momma, he kept that promise, he was famous!
One minute in and I already love his mom
Alpha😂😂😂🤡, dude just watched a 30 min documentary about a real one and want to link it with the toxic cult of alpha males
Poor guy.
I feel honored to have witnessed his life
Blessed to have been alive at the same time and see his raw power like no one else
This is a man you can feel.
In your heart.
In your soul.
A real man.
A man aspiring men want to be like.
That guy.
That guy right there.
That's the man.
Why?
I don't know there's just something about him.
He's got that something.
That something special.
When God pours that special love on you everybody knows it.
Everybody.
Kimbo didn't die.
Kimbo graduated life.
Not many men do.
Kimbo did.
Kimbo is special in a special way.
I'm actually crying right now because he has so much love.
Ahhh man....
You are the man my man.
You are the man!
I miss Kimbo a lot man 😔 like i knew him personally
Now as I'm getting older - it feels really unique to see documentaries about some of the things I experienced (watched and enjoyed) while younger.
True definition of fighting for what you want in life. Never gave up. Willing to change up the game plan. And stayed loyal. Street fighting icon. RIP Kimbo
He's not the definition, but he is a great example.
This man was 1 of the 1st RUclips stars.... His fight videos are still legendary!! RIP
I remember growing up watching his fight on RUclips... ever since I have always been a fan of his. Even though he maybe gone, he's never forgotten. Still one of my favorite fighters! RIP Kimbo Slice.
You gotta be in your 20s because i was watching him on limewire😂
I miss Kimbo Slice. He was such a humble and kind person. Always cheered for him.
Rip Kimbo. I showed my dad his 1st ufc fight on TUF since they were both from Miami. They’re both gone now 😢 Memories
I really like this documentary. His mom is so proud
Incredible story telling of an incredible man inside and outside of the octagon.
RIP Kimbo Slice,
Thank you for being a part of everyone’s lives
I was in the same school as Kimbo. One time a kid said to him 'you aint never gonna be 'nuttin', you aint shit', and Kimbo said 'Well, we can have it after school and I'mma show you!'... That night after school Kimbo beat up the kid with a single punch, then 3 other kids rushed him at the same time and he dropped each one. This comment will probably get lost in the sea of the comments here but yeah we knew in high school we aint gona mess with him after that.
😭thank you
Cap
Lol, wish i could have seen their faces. Before and after.
He always been a G
legendary shit lol
The Original Street Fighting Legend 👊🏾 Rest Easy Kimbo 🙏
May you rest in eternal peace kimbo slice I admire you because of your strength true warrior❤
Thanks for sharing your story with us. This was one of favorites. Kimbo was the G.O.A.T. of street fighting. Thank you for sharing this little piece of your life with us. We will be forever grateful.
@GSP UFC You're mom does tooo
He knew he was dying... at that very moment... he wanted to stand and fight and die doing what he’s always done! I remember as a kid my dad showing me his fights on RUclips! I stared watching mma a little before he got on the scene! Watched his whole mma career on ultimate fighter! To me he is a ultimate fighter! Love you Kembo!
Kimbo is like part of my childhood, he honestly seemed like a great guy. Its sad that he passed when he did.
This hasn't gotten this views it deserves. The world is a darker place since he passed. RIP Kimbo. Love.
I'm thankful I got to meet this man, and got a Signature from him. Much respect and love KIMBO SLICE
Bro..I still remember when I first seen Kimbo Slice. I was amazed on how he was stretching dudes out! Kimbo a true street legend! RIP
He was loved and he will be remembered, the greatest respect you can pay someone.
Jak dla mnie był wielką legendą gdzie był zauważony nawet w Polsce . Byłem jego wielkim fanem i nadal jestem! Spoczywaj w pokoju bracie
Y'all have no idea how long I've waited for a Kimbo Slice documentary! I live in Vanuatu in the South Pacific and I remember the early days of RUclips nearly everyone in our neighborhood had a Kimbo Slice video in their phones. What an inspiration he was to all of us.
Rip kimbo slice .. a true warrior with a heart of gold how a real man should be . God bless baby slice hope you have a amazing career
Isn't is crazy how the biggest, baddest, & toughest dudes out there almost always end up being gentle giants? R.I.P. Kimbo, you were a real one...
This Fightlore on Kimbo is legendary, great work!
‘The inner me was the enemy’
That hit home deep for me personally 🥹
Seemed like the coolest guy ever rip kimbo
RIP Kimbo. Great documentary. Thank you for showing this side of him.
Kimbo lifted his entire family up and left them set up to do better in the future... most... that should be the goal of everyone... especially a father... even a son wants to lift his family up.... so Kimbo can rest in peace, mission success 🙌
That was a true friend you can hear and see the pain he had and love he had for slice
It's so cool this guy was literally one of the first videos I ever saw on the internet. Just mind blowing how far technology has come. RIP legend.
RIP Kimbo!
What a great combination... a loving and loyal human being and a true badass warrior... R.I.P. Kimbo
What a guy,fighter,person, legend
First I watch Patrick Gavias' short doc about the injustice done to Kamaro Usman and Father that brought me to tears, then, the algorithm throws this in my face...Man, there's something about seeing the relationships between Kimbo, Mike, son and Mama that made me feel like I lost a beloved family member named Ferg. Genuinely brings me to tears. I can't believe The Lord took him from us like that. I'm gonna keep following and supporting Baby Slice till we're all dead and gone. One love, everybody
Bruh 😮. FACTS 👏🏽🙌🏽
Choking up watching this he was such a real person, down to earth and kind. RIP Kimbo Slice the King
What a legend, one of the most recognizable fighters OAT
Such a great "feel good" story. Y'all told it very well 10 out of 10. Sounds like he had a great time and made others around him feel comfortable.
