The video did say you could adjust the gap but 1/16 in my sweet spot too but for $44 I could hope it would be made of steel. One drop off a high ladder and you're old schooling it..
@MalermeisterAndy Hallo Andy, hast du dieses Tool schon mal gesehen oder ausprobiert? Was ist deine Meinung dazu? Ich bin etwas skeptisch. Danke im Voraus für deine Antwort.
You literally see the gap when they tape the window. U can’t tape close enough because of the piece itself. You will always have that gap. Those windows will have a thin line of paint on the glass.
You are absolutely right and this exactly what is needed for a perfect end result. The 1mm gap is barely visible and is needed to create perfect straight lines, make a good seal with the window pane or fill tiny cracks/gaps between the baseboard and the wall for example. The content you're seeing is dramatically zoomed in, so that you can clearly see the consistency of our tool. We'll be posting more content to show you why you should never apply the tape at zero distance!
Its actually considered good to paint 1 mm on to the glass, especially with older windows using putty. The reason is the paint on the glass and frame now means there are no gaps, therefore a perfect seal where water can't get into the frame.
The 1mm would be perfect!! But unfortunately this product will not make aperfectly even 1mm , more like 1-3mm range in reality. This product only works under oerfect circumstances , on glass, or perfectly smoooth surface. This is never the case in reality and then the product is too big and will move on the allest eneben surface and then the gap is wider and or the tap will brake
unless you are a professional painter this is way over priced to much gap from window. i understand some think its good for sealing but have never done this in my 45 years of being a painter, looks unprofessional to me and would to most of my customers, not sure it would hold up long, material doesn't looks that durable. plus i can hand mask faster than this thing. not for me
Hi! Thanks for the comment. The argument you’re bringing is more about using masking tape as a professional painter in general. We’ve been developing this tool with professionals for many years now and they all say the same; “Although we can cut in perfectly fine, we use masking tape all the time. Especially if you have to do multiple layers.” That being said, we have a tool that creates a consistent line in less time and thus higher efficiency! About using tape for sealing/caulking. By applying tape you will always get a straight line and create the opportunity to really push the product in the corner for some long lasting adhesive. Now the tool you’re seeing here was an early 3D printed prototype and the quality is not comparable with the product available in our stores now!
I really like my masking master I do high-end homes and this tool is my secret weapon I wish I had this when I started painting back in the day
So it looks as if it stays about an 1/8 from the piece you're painting, a 1/16 is acceptable but an 1/8?

Do I need special tape or can I use every tape?

A thin line is the professional solution to prevent moist entering between the pane and your wooden window frame!
