It would be interesting to know what the LSU offer was. Before the 12 mil offer from Michigan, there was a difference of only 1,5 for four years.
I have to think that money was not the only factor. The way BK has come off the last couple of weeks, I believe influenced the decision. First all the yelling at players on the sidelines. If your name is not Nick Saban, kids don't take that from you. Then, taking over the offensive play-calling. Underwood had a great relationship with Sloan, and BK undercut him. And finally, the players-only meeting, which are usually called when players and HC don't see eye to eye.
Sure, a 12 mil offer is hard to refuse. I'm just wondering how much the gap was, and why LSU didn't match it, seeing that the recruiting year was so heavily based on Underwood. My evil side brings me to think that the LSU boosters didn't match the offer to throw BK under the bus. Mark my words: another sub-par season next year, and the boosters WILL find the money to buy out BK. Now... You better call the other top recruits and start handing out cash, otherwise they are gone too.....unless...unless... it's a BK thing!

Both things could be true. It could not just be about the money. But end the end they accept the most money. It just means that the non monetary conditions were met. Let me give you an example. Bryce was worried about being developed. Michigan no doubt addressed that by saying they would get him a good QB coach and dev him to the fullest. He was worried about Michigan being a run centric offense. Michigan could have addressed that by saying, hey if you come here we will open up the aerial offense. hopefully you can see that it literally was not just about the money. But... The family and Bryce are not stupid they are also going to make sure that they get the most possible. The first line of thinking is checkers. The family is playing chess making strategic moves.

The QB is nothing without everyone else around him. All Michigan has done is open up a can of worms they’re not gonna want to deal with. Every good player they go after will now be expecting the same payment or even more. And I highly doubt Michigan pays every single recruit 10-15 or 20 million. If they do it won’t last long pockets will run dry pretty quick at that rate. 10 milly per 25 players is 250 mil every year. In 5 years they’ll be broke with maybe 2 nattys to show for it depending on whether or not your coach can avoid getting out coached

Bryce takes what’s rumored to be an extra 4 Mil (insane amount of money not hating) to go to a place that rarely produces NFL QBs, has bad weather/Weapons that a top QB prospect would want over LSU whose produced after nuss like 3 straight 1st round QBs. Part of me wonders is he taking an extra 4 Mil now but going to sacrifice his development and a lot more money from the NFL by going to Michigan over LSU?

Go get some solid Runnbacks. Mainly powerbacks.
They do not need to be elite if running behind an Elite Line. Black Corum was not Elite and had an amazing career.

This is only the beginning, it’s a small wave. Universities who have real money, who never participated before in pay for play, are going to change the landscape. The SEC, other than Texas/A&M, can’t compete with real donors/endowment $ base. Wait until Indiana and Penn State finally say, F it, we are in. Then the shift will be a tsunami. If Harvard ever decides to want a NFL 2.0 program, they can buy a team that no one in America can outspend, including the NFL.

    • @KeepChoppin

Your point about Harvard is valid. I don't see it, but it could happen. Teams like Harvard and Princeton were once at the top of college football and they throttled down in the 1950s and 1960s because they saw this coming. History is important.
