You live the high life John! Man that hotel exudes luxury! Thanks for taking us with you at the wax museum, its been ages since we've been to one. We agree you slightly look like Leo D 😍 Seems like life is normal-ish in Beijing despite the pandemic. Oh that effin bike! haha Keep touring us in China! travel safe!

After staying at numerous hotels around the globe I'm really proud to say we're really hosting one of the very best hotels right in my home city. Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing is truly phenomenal.
honestly you never get alone for yourself when you're live in china especially Beijing because there are safe no matter what time you are going out door even at 3am 4am there are everywhere people walk across and all store are open mostly for 24hr in main city resident area even a mall too that is insane
That's so cool that the toilet senses you and lifts up like tha. Such a beautiful place the garden looks lovely. Cool part of town :) love those arches. Enjoyed exploring the city with you. Cool to see madame tussauds
MANDARIN ORIENTAL!!!!!!!!!!! Love that you connected with your community and ended up letting them choose what you are doing! The walking around the Beijing is by far our favorite because it is just so nice to see! Especially with a lot of it changing so quickly. Never been to the wax museum, but we heard some creepy things of them moving! HAHA. OMG, I can't believe you cursed! Can't imagine you doing it. HAHA.
Ah travel. I remember when either Dean or I had a tour and the other would try to out do the by showing who's room had the best amenities. Happy Travels.
@@JohnThomasAbroad honestly i haven’t stayed in any hotels here ) but i heard “Shangri-la hotel Qingdao “ is good) but not sure , if you come here , better stay in that area, near by May 4th square, and better come here during weekend so you can watch night light show )
@@JohnThomasAbroad Hi John, I miss Xian a lot. I made a choice 30 years ago to come to US to make my American dream. I have done well. Married a wife the second year after I came to US and we raised two children, both in college now. I am a cop last 24 years. I also was able to go back collage while being a cop. My agency paid 80% of the cost for my 9 years full time student to gain my doctor of pharmacy, just a plan B option. I am 57 now, at finishing phrase of my career, where will I go after retire is a real question. I visited China 4 times last 30 years and last one was in 2018. I have some knowledge of China. Still too far away and became foreign to me. Thank you for share your life in China. I like the way you speak, very clear to each word. That is beautiful.
Wait is that the old street that had all the different little shops and Scorpions on a stick? Did they tear that down??? That’s my favorite part of the street!
Wow Madame Tussauds looks really fun. I had the chance in 2008 to go in one in London but the queue was too long 🤭 the music also fits very well and nice Transition at the start 😁👍🏻
@@JohnThomasAbroad yes that's right, normally you would think that it's a risk of damaging them. So the trip was really worth it 😁 I think a Roadtrip with the own car would be also nice to Beijing.
No worries! Always happy to be in Beijing. I think it’s a new process. You could tell that a lot of bikes are stored in only certain areas. Very clean but very challenging to find a spot close to where I was going. 😆
I was one of the very first tourists to have visited Tissauds Beijing🧐 I remember something went wrong to their ticketing system on day one🤣🤣 So we went in without printed tickets😂 BTW I also encountered the same parking conundrum when the e-parking system was implemented and i ended up spending more time than usual to find a legit parking space🙄🙄
Really?!? One of the first. That’s cool. When was that? The parking was so frustrating. I’ve not had that experience in Tianjin. It’s nice to keep the streets free of bikes but they need more spots for sure. I wonder if it has something to do with the Olympics next year. Preparing now.
@@JohnThomasAbroad The musuem was open in 2014 and I remember I got up early that day to see the opening (not gonna do this now🤣) . The new parking rule has to do with each city's municipal regulation. First tier cities have been more stringent on this.

😂 Thanks for confirming my look alike. Life is getting back to normal here. Beijing is most strict at the moment. But it feels great to get out again.
Hi. Good video. very good upload. I like it. awesome. like64
it’s so cool how you used the community posts choose-your-own-adventure style! taking notes... 😎
now we’re so curious who the wax figure with the guitar was!!!
It was so fun!
Now I’m trying to remember who had the guitar 🎸. If it was with Madonna and MJ than it was Chinese celebrity.

Thanks for your recommendations. I checked out the Bird Nest hotel in Sanya and it looks amazing.
