Notice that they had him fooled twice into thinking something was what it actually wasn’t so when he goes to take a drink and the girl tells him it’s blood he assumes it’s another joke and takes a sip.. only to realize it’s in fact blood and he has now begun the transformation into a vampire. Slick setup by the vamp clan
Also 12 when I first watched this. We're all around 50 now. Greatest movie, greatest actors, greatest soundtrack. We all know the Corey's story for what happened next. But at this time, on VHS. We knew every word.
This is still my favorite scene of the movie. It sets up the vampires as truly accepting Michael into their clan and it showed by great acting by all, especially Kiefer, that they cared about each other and the brutality was only shown demonstratively when they were forced to feed, where the real beast inside you is taring its way out of you and you have no choice. Pretty much the coolest vampires ever, other than Jerry Dandridge in Fright Night 1985, he was boss and the pack in Near Dark 1987, they were cool.
CHRIS SARANDON, RODDY MCDOWELL AND AMANDA BEARSE FROM MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, I REMEMBER WHEN ME AND MY SISTER RENTED FRIGHT NIGHT FROM THE VIDEO STORE, FIRST TIME WE EVER SAW IT, AND I MEAN BACK THEN, I DONT KNOW WHICH GENERATION YOU ARE BUT I AM GEN X
Me too, this, Fright Night 1985 and 30 Days of Night 2007 are the best vampire movies ever and honorable mentions for Near Dark 1987, Blade 1998 and Vampires 1998.

Note: David (Kiefer Sutherland) was the name of J.M. Barrie’s brother who died at age 13. He would stay “young forever” thus being one of the first inspirations for Peter Pan. The Lost Boys being loosely inspired by Peter Pan.
Starr and Laddie, although bitten, hadn't made their respective first kills yet, so there was still hope for them. As for the others, I'm not so sure. However, I think that if the Head Vampire, Max, had been killed before they died, then all of them would've had their curse lifted off of them, and they could've been saved. If I remember my Vampire Lore correctly, that was the only way, that a victim could've been saved.
This is basically Point Break but without vampires, undercover/crime aspects, instead of surfboards it's bikes, the gang in itself are bad but they not completely immoral, they are just what they are (vampires) they have to feed to survive but they seem to be tight as a crew as in Point Break and just an overall feel these two films evoke from you is simply nostalgic. I mean you can say the same thing about Near Dark (Which is also a film made by Kathryn Bigelow).
Knew it! Knew it was a movie reference of some sort. Just saw the south park reference last night. And i went to look up the song I was like nah there has to be more to it then just the song. With south park its always deeper. So i type in Lost boys cry little sister scence and here we are 😂😂😂😂😂
They parodied this very scene where Randy Marsh injected Ozempic into him and the party guests were chanting “Randy! Randy!”. This is why we love 💗 “South Park “ because it’s great at satire.
this movie was about 82% hair…and a 100% masterpiece
This is about 110% the best comment here 😅❤
@@amoistudioandlabs even HIS hair was on point.

Still one of the greatest films ever made!
I agreed
Definitely
Absolutely perfect
Agreed. I'm hoping they don't remake it. Leave it alone
The 80s; best movies, best songs...
I think this was Sutherland’s best role ever.
This or Stand By Me...
@@stevenbeoethy4049 Flatliners too. Those are my top three Sutherland roles. Lost Boys, Stand By Me, and Flatliners.
I agree... Kiefer played the charismatic David Powers convincingly.

I remember watching this by myself at age 12 in the middle of the night I Loved it!!!
Literally had the exact same experience at the exact same age. And it was awesome.
Wow this sounds like one of the best memories for a 12 year old. I had the same experience with the movie 1985 “Legend” when I was 8.
