Yup will be just like this. They are risking a player who can go as high as 20Cr even more than that which depends on when he comes in the auction but retain dube who won't even go for 14Cr. He can bowl that doesn't mean he's a proper all rounder. There will be good indian middle order batsman in auction so getting dube will not be a problem. Pathirana in auction will surely be a bloodbath.
Stop calling CSk one of the most successful frnachises. They are without doubt THE MOST SUCCESSFUL IPL FRNACHISE EVER. they have same titles as Mumbai but have appeared in more finals and have never got wooden spoon which bambay has got twice. Also CsK played two seasons less and mumbai won only when csk not thete and bambayd never won 10 team ipl tournament

Jadeja was retained for 16cr in 2021 auction. Why would he go for 14cr in this auction? Here’s how my retention structure would be like:
Ruturaj - 18cr
Dube - 14cr
Pathirana - 11cr
Jaddu- 18cr
Dhoni - 4cr
Jadeja worth is not 11 cr also you are giving him 18 cr

Jadeja is a marquee player and is vital for CSK for winning home games. He will be the 4th retention at 18cr. Gaikwad at 18, dube at 14 Pathirana 11 and Dhoni 4 will be retentions for CSK
CSK won't go for 4th & 5th Retention. Jaddu, Rutu & Pathirana + Dhoni as uncapped & They go with 2 RTM going into auction with a good amount of money.
@@Sivajay10 the new RTM rule of raising the bids will weigh heavily in the minds of franchises. Every franchise knows which player will get RTMed to who and teams will utilise that to raise the bid to astronomical figures. CSK will get Dube even if the bid is raised to 16cr. KKR will get Narine if the bid is at 15cr. So retain and plan the auctions without surprises

@@kaushikka Even if dube goes for 16 Cr you'll save 2 Cr which is the amount to retain a player in 4th slot. So it's always a win win situation in case of dube going to auction.

18 Cr for Dube is ridiculous to be retained. He will go into auction pool. If CSK needs to be smart they should go with Jaddu, Rutu & Pathirana as 1st 2nd & 3Rd retention + Dhoni as uncapped. They should use 2 RTM in Auction. So they will have enough money left to go into action. Remember they should build a squad strength of 21 to 25 Players in total.
