But I wonder what are the benefits of the nord grand vs nord stage? All the sound we could also have in the NS3/4 right? Is it „only“ the Kawaii Action?
Yes, that is correct, I think. One benefit might be that NordStage(s) are significantly heavier (or so it felt when I had the ‘pleasure’ of moving one of each around during one weekend last month). So your back might thank you for a Nordgrand :)
@@svenk.4102Can’t argue with that. There must have been some context in each case, as I definitely remember Nordstage as the heaviest of the two. But it probably wasn’t. It was a Nordstage 2 or 3 and a Nord Grand 1, but guess the weight of each is likely similar.
Ok. The question is: how it run in the live mix at big PA... It's about stage or? I like both sound. Korg is a bit korgy. But it was always cutting through during performance. Nord is super realistic, which likely be fine for headphones, but will be a questionable during live show.
You make solid points. But I am actually not that worried about the Nord. It draws on the same sound bank as the Nordstage series, which has proven to be very capable in almost any live sound context. Curious to hear the new Korg in a realworld setting. :)
I actually played a gig a few weeks back where the keyboard player (I am a bassist) brought a Nord Grand (not v2), and it sat very firmly in the mix. That said, it was an in-ear gig so the sound was - as you mention - on headphones/earplugs. So, I don't know how it actually sounded in the house.

It was announced just before NAMM in January, and they showed a prototype at the show, which was the one I tried (and recorded). But it has not yet shipped. I don’t think they have set a shipping date yet, as some dealers have it listed, but with a note that availability is several months away.
I personally don’t enjoy the sound of the Nord, yes it’s easily identifiable but it just doesn’t sound acoustic. It’s like you’re listening to it out of some really good Klipsch speakers 🔊 and the problem that I have with that is that it leaves no room in my mind for some authenticity of my own. If you close your eyes with the Grandstage, you could be anywhere but when you close your eyes with the Nord, you may be playing somewhere else but you still know you’re just playing a NORD. I hope that made sense and if it didn’t, who cares; it’s just the way I hear sound!! 🤷♂️
i own the kawai mp7se that uses the same action as the nord grand and i often switch between that and the nord stage 3 at my Church and there is no comparison, yes the nord has the fire engine red that everyone and their mother seems to want, but my Kawai mp7se is built with actual metal and the sound of the shiguru sk grand will out perform and sound way better And more authentic than a nord.
I have both of the previous models of the Nord sit 10. Korg sit 9.9 This is just my opinion for the money. Of Nord they should have more memory you should be able to put all the newer Nord piano in now that’s just my opinion
Between this two - NORD, for sure. But my favorite is Viscount Legend 70's [Wood], very happy with it!!!
Ich hab auch den Viscount Artist W und bin sehr zufrieden!
Nice
I prefer Korg by far. I have the Nord and is overvalue.
Me too.i prefered all the korg sounds

I also prefer the sound of the Korg. However, its action is said to be inferior to the Nord Grand 2.

Yes. The keybed is one of the most important things on a piano.

You can always turn the sound to „bright“ to make it more firm or edit its curves - but you cannot just add all the depth and nuance to the Korg

The Battle we’ve BEEN ALL WAITING FOR: ‘FIGHT’ 😂
Please rest assured that no pianos were harmed during the battle! 🙃
Nord- Close mic and compressed. Korg- More mid mic and less compressed. Both good depending on what you're looking for. Nice demo.
Thanks!
It sounds the opposite to me...nord mid micd...the korg close micd
When was Korg gtrandstage x relesed? I need this info...please❤

But I definitely like the look of the new grand stage
Yes, it sure looks sweet indeed. 👍
Enorme calidad del NORD GRAN 2.

That is totally cool. We all hear things the way we do. They are different animals for sure. :)
So all the pros who use the Nord and there are a lot of pros who do don’t know didly swat about how an acoustic piano sounds but you do.

I've never had the pleasure of trying that keyboard. Sounds interesting and will definitely try one out if I come across one in a store someday. 👍

Use the mp7se with a nord 6d on top or a yc61.
Nord by far… at least on the headphones it sounds IDENTICAL to the recording of a real piano - I mean even the damper sound 😮 insane!
Yes, it is very life-like in sound, but also feel when you play it. :-)

Korg all Day

korg has a better feel and piano tone sound quality is way better don't talk about the EP 🤯🤯🤯🤯
