A big Dang-It for me as a Penguins fan was definetly the game against the Avalanche where they tied the game just to get scored on 20 seconds later not once but twice.
As an Avs fan, those were both a huge relief for me. The Avs have blown too many leads this season. They tend to win, but occasionally they end up losing. Often it is way too close though and no lead is safe. The Pens were playing too well for me to feel comfortable about the Avs giving up an inch of lead against them. Steve did miss Rust's own goal in that game though. There were two own goals, although Devon Toews' was more of a dang it.
As an Oilers fan, I’m surprised you didn’t include the Kings scoring 2 goals in 15 seconds before they could even finish announcing McDavid’s 100th point.

The Arizona Coyotes arent an nhl team, youre right. Theyre the team you start with in HUT. A random assortment of AHLers, dudes from europe, and a CHL arena.
I watched the game highlights for FL-NJ without knowing anything about the game and going into the third I was wondering why the Devils always got trash talked. Jump cut a few minutes and I could recall it with a stunning clarity.
So is Cal Peterson giving the puck away and getting scored on 10 seconds into the game not a dang it like what are your standards here Drew and Steve idk how you could dang more it’s than that dang it
Kind of went unmentioned but Eriksson sort of took care of Zegras after he got that check in the back, like he saw it, knew the guy was hurt and tied him up from the other guys on the ice and held him back when he was trying to get involved, separating him from the group and chatting him down. He probably saved him from really aggravating a possible worse injury.
Watching Allen for years in STL, he is the last goalie I'm scared to see behind the net. He is probably the best goalie I've ever seen when it comes to puck handling outside of the goal. The problem here for him wasn't that part of the game. The problem was that his job isn't to handle the puck outside of the goal.
Steve! I'm surprised you didn't mention Toronto blowing the play dead during the Bolts/Hawks game last Friday for a NON GOAL. Not just a non goal, but a non goal that was hit NOT in with a high stick. They actually reviewed this and said hey that warrants stopping the game dead in its tracks. 🥴
"...for a 2-on-0 featuring Cole Caufield." I knew Producer Drew would bring that part up.😅 Biggest dang-it has to go to the Philadelphia Flyers for their handling of Keith Yandle though.
so a dang-it should be given for sitting a player who has been atrocious all season and not letting him continue his iron man streak? The Flyers paid him to play defense. He hasn't done that. Letting his streak continue would be a literal participation trophy. He's done in the NHL and the Flyers need to bring up the young guys to see who can play next season.
No, no, you have this all wrong man, the thing people have a problem with is that Beagle broke the code. Terry didn't want to fight, still had his gloves on, and Beagle was beating on him relentlessly. Fighting is one thing when a guy agrees to it, but just beating on someone who doesn't fight, and isn't interested in fighting that is different. There are exceptions. Thinking way back to "fight night at the joe" That was something that was brewing for a long time and McCarty jumped a guy well known for fighting (Lemieux). Beagle should face a big suspension for intent to injure man. That was just bad all around.
Massive overreaction from Jay Beagle. Fair that he fought Troy Terry but to beat the brakes off him after he’s already done (he looked lifeless before he even hit the ice) is absolutely wrong
Terry didn't even drop his gloves. Total BS move on Beagle's part. Kid literally went in to tie up a guy, as you do in a post whistle scrum, and ended up getting dummied by Beagle. If I'm the Ducks, Beagle's getting jumped by one of my tough guys in a scrum next time they play. You don't do that when you're a fighter...especially not to a finesse player. If you did that to a young finesse player in the 80s or 90s, you'd have a guy like Semenko, Domi, Probert, Crowder, or Twist taking your head off at the very first chance they got.
@@pale_saint in some ways...yes, but we also know the price that a lot of those guys paid in that role, so while I miss the accountability that they upheld, I'm kinda glad that there aren't guys out there whose sole roles are eating and serving knuckle sandwiches until their brains are mush.

My opinion with fighting is that it needs to be allowed until the refs can make the right calls (or at least the same calls) consistently and reliably. Fighting keeps players in check where the refs might not. Fighting when a player is better than you for the simple reason that he is better than you is unsportsmanlike and doesn’t belong anywhere near a playing field/rink.

beating up a guy because his skill embarrasses you is embarrassing in itself. Seriously, dude, grow up. If you wanna fight someone because they made a bad hit, or are poking at a covered puck, or they've been trying to get you to fight all game, that seems fair to me. But if you want to beat up a guy because he's better at the non-fighting side of the game... go do MMA or something. Or don't, because you're probably not ACTUALLY good at fighting either, just better than guys who put their effort into being good at hockey.
Comparing the Jay beagle incident to Shawn Thornton years ago I don't know how beagle doesn't get at least 5. At least orpik did something illegal and Thornton asked first.
Protocol in the NHL is supposed to be in a fight if one of the players goes to the ice the fight is over. That should be the way it is when someone's laying on their back or on their side they're defenseless.
I don't know where people are getting he didn't stop fighting when Terry went down. You can see clear as day, as soon as Terry goes down, Beagle is still standing and wrapped up by the linesman, but breaks from the linesman to go after Zegras. There were ZERO punches thrown at Terry after he went down.
Surprised that Brad Marchand braining Andrew Peeke (directly in front of an official) so bad that Peeke was asleep when Debrusk scored a few seconds later wasn't here. Jumping into a check to the head, no penalty, no fine, no suspension. And the real kicker, Marchand would go on to punch Larkin in the back of the head the next night. Both should be Dang-It's.

I like to imagine that when Eriksson is containing (bear hugging) Zegras, he whispering in his ear "keep your hands down and you won't get hurt" then when Zegras start trying to escape Eriksson tells him "stop it I'm trying to help you". Or at least that's what I think when I watch that clip.
Jake Allen's dangit was not remembering he is Montreal Canadien's goalie and that he should never trust anyone on his team to do something correctly, especially not a defensemen.
Hi Steve did you say that when he plays a N.H.L. Team?Let me when The Montreal Canadian is in the League😂lol.Thank you for that bit of fun with this ok 👌 Go Habs Go
Steve made a good point about Trevor Zegras doing the Michigan against an NHL team one day. On a side note, imagine the Toronto Maple Leafs loosing twice so far this season to a non-nhl Montreal Canadians.
Yeah I'd say that commentator really did not make Arizona look good, in fact honestly I think that commentary buries them. Feels like he's basically admitting they have no talent and are deliberately using players to play a dirty style to stay relevant. Espeically when your 5 Nil behind too. I get you wanna take home even a small peice of celebration but admitting you can't hang against another team is kinda sad.
Some commentators are (well a fair chunk of them and it makes sense) complete biased. Now maybe it's worse when your team is historically bad so anytime someone makes you look dumb you take it very personally (hell seems like the players on those teams do as well). It's like this in a lot of sports, players compete, no one likes losing. I don't considering scoring to be hotdogging it at all, Now maybe you can argue someone celebrating on their into the endzone for a touchdown in a blowout game as hotdogging, you can probably say a batter just admiring his homerun in a blowout to be hot dogging it and it is to very minor extent. End of the day though....If you don't want to be embarrassed....maybe and this could be a tough logic for a lot of these bad teams (or sometimes just bad days for a team) DON'T LET THE OTHER TEAM SCORE! Not letting the other team score solves a lot of these problems. Be better.
I don't know what people are talking about with saying beagle kept hitting him when he was down. He literally doesn't do that, he just stands back when Terry falls and then starts to swing at OTHER people. Steve your clip doesn't show that and I even went and looked up the clip elsewhere and could not find a moment of him wailing on him while down. If anyone has the clip of that please let me know but to me it just looks like people hating on beagle for fighting a better player (which isn't why he fought him). Dang its typically does break downs and slow mo's on its clips to explain things but this time they don't and I assume its because what they are talking about doesn't happen.
That last Dang-It...reminds me SO MUCH of the Bruins-Wild game on ESPN where Trent Frederic landed THE CHEAPEST of blindside hits on Kirill Kaprizov, injuring the latter skater, and the commentators practically CONGRATULATED AND ENCOURAGED the Bruins to make the same kind of hits! They were biased ALL. GAME. LONG. Horribly, HORRIBLY unprofessional commentary during both games. That's not a Dang-It. That's a YOU'RE FIRED! I'd rather listen to Joe Buck wax poetic about his man-crush on Aaron Rodgers, for crying out loud!
I can't put Allan fully in the wrong on that one (it was the defenseman who lost the puck), but the thing I've always learned while being in Juniors as a goaltender is to follow where you pass it. Go to that post because you'll be in position in case something like that happens. When he goes to the far post and has to come across the crease he isn't ready for that shot when it's turned over. Now don't get me wrong, he really wasnt in the wrong for the major dang it of turning it over, but he very well may have saved the goal if he'd gotten there a fraction of a second earlier.
This time the Montreal goalie actually made a good move going out of the net and made a solid pass to his teammate, the defensemen gets the dang it for passing it to the other team

15:25 Terry tried to straight up punch Beagle in the face, failed horribly and suffered the consequences. He didn't manage to drop his gloves but it seems to me that he was the instigator anyway. But let's not make it any more dramatic, the commentator gave the beating a totally wrong reasoning.
Column A for Allen
Column C for Corey Schunemen. (Happy little accident)
Im surprised the Keith Yandle situation wasn't mentioned. that for sure was a huge dang it on the Flyers organization
"Not a lot has been going well for vegas..." and it has been oh so sweet to witness
As an Oilers fan, I’m surprised you didn’t include the Kings scoring 2 goals in 15 seconds before they could even finish announcing McDavid’s 100th point.
I'm not sure I will ever be able to take Huberdeau seriously again after hearing the commentator describe him as "Hubie-doobie-do".
He did it once in 2015 and it sticked, thats his nickname. He also does the "lets go home baby" when the panthers win in ot
@@pale_saint
👆👆👆 This guy knew about Huberdeau's nickname before you did!
...see? Nobody cares.
Gotta say I love it when team’s play-by-play guys give their players nicknames. Gives a sense of community for the viewers.
Hubie doobie doo. Where are you? We got some work to do now. Hubie doobie doo. Where are you? We need some help from you now.
@@pale_saint Did anyone really watch the panthers before 2021?
That thumbnail is EVERYTHING.
*flashbacks of last year playoffs between Mtl and Tor* You're right Steve, sweet memories!
those that don't like Zegras are mad he isn't on their team or over the age of 50. today's hockey is so fun to watch. guys have personality, the skill is unreal. we gotta stop with the "back in my day" nonsense. it's not back in your day, get over it. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for reminding me that things haven’t been going well for the kraken stop twisting the knife
Love hearing Forsland's call. None better, particularly in response to Tyson Nash hating "skill." He should never call a game again.
Man Steve nailed how NFL players have to react to plays to avoid bs taunting penalties
Nobody says that Allen is bad puckhandler. In some skills competition he would have won. He is just too risky with his puckhandling.
With wierd nhl coming out every two weeks now we can always depend on Steve for making a dang it video every week
At 12:14 to answer the question of the Sens vs Habs play, it’s the defenseman’s fault for passing through the middle.
Best part of Thursday!
Sounds Ike a 50. Cal in mw2 when holl hits the boards lol
I guess when you have to watch Arizona play all season it makes sense to be mad at people for being good at hockey.
You would just think that by 70 games in or so, they would just be numb to it by now and not even get mad about how much they suck.
And good eve-a-ning friiiieeeeeeeeeeends!
The Weegar one had me actually laughing out loud
GREEEEAAAAATTTT assortment of plays!!!
"...for a 2-on-0 featuring Cole Caufield."
I knew Producer Drew would bring that part up.😅
Biggest dang-it has to go to the Philadelphia Flyers for their handling of Keith Yandle though.
Truuuuuuuuu
so a dang-it should be given for sitting a player who has been atrocious all season and not letting him continue his iron man streak? The Flyers paid him to play defense. He hasn't done that. Letting his streak continue would be a literal participation trophy. He's done in the NHL and the Flyers need to bring up the young guys to see who can play next season.
@@dustinarnold4341 Mike Yeo has obviously not seen Jeff Petry this season when it comes to atrocious.
That was a really good JT impression haha! NO EMOTION
Eriksson holding Zegras back was a funny part
@@pale_saint in some ways...yes, but we also know the price that a lot of those guys paid in that role, so while I miss the accountability that they upheld, I'm kinda glad that there aren't guys out there whose sole roles are eating and serving knuckle sandwiches until their brains are mush.
maybe if youre too scared to throw a punch since youre a star go to the bench after the whistle lol dude started somethign and got dropped by an old dude who can barely skate.
Compare this mess with the text book old tyme "code" fight between Simmonds and MacEwen last Saturday.
@@rodchallis8031 that was a proper donnybrook, no issues with it at all. They both wanted it and there was no fuss, just two power forwards beating the hell out of each other.
Let us all be thankful the 2-0 in this dang its, finally resulted in a goal
Thank you for having mercy on Jonathan Toews with the own goal on his 1000th game ceremony night 😬 that was definitely a dangit
You thanked them for not doing it and you do it yourself..... Thats a Dang-It
@@aleszabloudil3502 I even tweeted it to them lol I was expecting it and they didn't do it, that's merciful lol
My son has named his intravenous drip after Steve as we wait for his surgery and watch his Dang-It’s and Hat-Picks to kill the time.
Penguin's Matheson accidentally face washing the ref during the scrum needs to be in next weeks dang it! So funny
@@pale_saint get over it boomer. scoring and winning isnt humiliating your opponent. its a professional sport.
Can always tell the people that just started watching hockey within the past 2 years
@@deusvult6920 Which one are they? I don't see a clear distinction in this thread. Maybe different age groups, but viewing experience isn't so easily quantified.
@@pale_saint So the Ducks are gonna stop playing so they don't hurt their poor feelings? Lmao it's hockey you play hard until it's over bud
@@pale_saint Oh jesus, won't someone think of the poor adult men's *emotions* so they don't feel sad about being worse than their opponent on the night. It's not kindergarten, they're not getting a participation trophy and a "good job buddy, you tried!" - if you don't want to be embarrassed, PLAY better.
That Leafs player missing the hit though was too funny 🤣
Steve, I have to tell you that I think my kids kinda hate you now. See, I've started watching a lot of your videos, particularly the dang-its, and the phrase, "That? Oof, that's a dang-it" has definitely entered my lexicon. As the Dad of adult kids, though, finding things that harmlessly annoy them is one of my life-goals (that's what Dad jokes are all about anyway), and I love that this has been added to repertoire. I'd like to unironically thank you for that.
Love the videos. Keep it up.
beating up a guy because his skill embarrasses you is embarrassing in itself.
Hi Steve It's James Stoyles yes I am a Habs fan but I'm very sorry to say that you could be right because it Jake Allan ! If he's going to play the puck he has to be 100% Right and if not then you know what happened to them.Thank you for that video 😁.Great stuff
Commentary is the worst thing about the Beagle Terry bout. But if you don't want anyone "skilling it up" on you get better and stop them.
Nothing for Gaudreau scoring 10s in the game because of Peterson playing the puck to him?
How are you not going to feature the LA Kings' Cal Petersen giving away the puck behind the net for a goal in the first 10 second of a game?
Hey Steve 👋
Great video guys!
✌🏼😎👍🏼
I like to imagine that when Eriksson is containing (bear hugging) Zegras, he whispering in his ear "keep your hands down and you won't get hurt" then when Zegras start trying to escape Eriksson tells him "stop it I'm trying to help you". Or at least that's what I think when I watch that clip.
Once the Defenseman has the puck, its his responsibility to make a good outlet pass. Definately NOT Jake Allens' fault.
Glad Vancouver doesn’t have beagle anymore,.. that was disgraceful and the commentary on top of it as well.
Jake Allen's dangit was not remembering he is Montreal Canadien's goalie and that he should never trust anyone on his team to do something correctly, especially not a defensemen.
Hi Steve did you say that when he plays a N.H.L. Team?Let me when The Montreal Canadian is in the League😂lol.Thank you for that bit of fun with this ok 👌 Go Habs Go
I'm a Portlander with family in Vegas. I've got two home hockey teams... and they're the Kraken and the Golden Knights. No matter who wins, I lose.
Steve made a good point about Trevor Zegras doing the Michigan against an NHL team one day.
On a side note, imagine the Toronto Maple Leafs loosing twice so far this season to a non-nhl Montreal Canadians.
I can't stop watching the weegar dang it😂😂😂😂
On the topic of Goalie Interference, id like to quote Mickey Redmond. "I dont understand the rules, I just read them."
Yeah I'd say that commentator really did not make Arizona look good, in fact honestly I think that commentary buries them. Feels like he's basically admitting they have no talent and are deliberately using players to play a dirty style to stay relevant. Espeically when your 5 Nil behind too. I get you wanna take home even a small peice of celebration but admitting you can't hang against another team is kinda sad.
the refs giving pat maroon and wayne simmonds 10 minutes for chirping was a big dang-it by the refs
Allen did handle the puck with such grace and finesse.
That one is on the D man.
for next week the refs in the Columbus at Detroit game were the biggest dang it ever.
Be better.
2:07 Steve reporting the social media guy to HR for harassment
OH Steve, you can say don't laugh, but it was beyond too late. The bounceback on the next one was even more hilarious!
Missed Bryan Rust's own-goal. It was almost the exact same own-goal as Tanner Jeannot's (which you did feature.)
"The NHL doesn't know what goaltender interference is!"...only the NHL's warehouse of broken magic 8 balls knows.
the Leafs blowing a lead is just a preview for the playoffs.
I really hope that Aube-Kubel's 95 MPH goal is going to be a hat pick
100% should have been that was a wicked goal! Could be happier for em
Damn that Vegas own goal. Pretty rare that you have a own goal with an assist from a teammate and no other players touching it ✌️🤣
It's interesting to note in that comeback against NJ how progressively more optimistic the goal celebrations got
Some nights I stay up late and wonder if Schneider cursed the number 35 during his time in NJ
I love Suzuki just kind of checking out, not even having his stick on the ice during the failed back pass turned 2v0
