He isn't lying. I passed 100% and received my certificate this morning. Fantastic course, Highly recommended This means I can now legally put blade guards on my mini 2 to protect people.
One sentence that proves some of these laws are ridiculously black and white. Imagine having to do a course to allow for something to be SAFER! Blade guards should be a must for learners...
Soon after I got the Mini2 I did the UAVHUB course. Took my time, did the mock test and passed 1st time with 100%. So I’ve got my A2CoC. Felt it helped my knowledge of law and drone skills. The UAVHUB and your films are helping me fly!!!! Cheers Darren!
Thank you from someone who has jus treated himself to a new drone for Christmas. You put your message across so well My problem is that I am 83yo and you speak quite fast so I have to replay the video a number of time.. Doesn't matter really because, at my age, I have time.
Darren - Super RUclips channel - so informative and so easy to understand, you are just what we over 50's require to make like simple. Simple to understand and plain talking - I like it a lot - looking forward to the next one and keep up the excellent channel
Did mine with UAVHUB - not only a good course but support afterwards and continued help from the guys. I live in the Channel Islands and we have a totally different drone code, but the A2CofC IS a recognised qualification now.
I can also vouch for UAVHUB. Did my A2CofC with them in March and Passed 100%. I still go back to their website every week as they are always updating some of the modules as minor CAA regulations are updated.
Excellent video Darren. I did the A1-A3 first (not required) for the Mini 2 and then bought the drone. I thought it might be handy to know the rules and regulations first. I am in the Netherlands and did the course with Drone Class (not sponsored) but an excellent course. The A2 with them is basically the same price as in the UK, 99 euro. The course was easy, i finished it within a couple of hours. Absolutely loving the Mini2, it does everything i want at the moment. If i decide to go to a larger drone in the future i won't hesitate doing the A2 cofc. Thanks for all the work you do.
Why have I only just found this!!! I have tried online courses for CofC before and like you said it can be sooo boring just trying to read all this information which can easily send anyone asleep. I will definitely give this a bash now, thank you 🙏
hey Darren I would just like say thank you for all these vids /advice /tips tricks an everything else you do for us an this community , ano what sort of work goes into editing an putting all this together an it's not easy an proble mentally draining at times thinking what to create an do next. keep up the great work!!
I’m happy to hear you singing the praises of the S2 I was thinking that it was a regretful purchase for you but like you say in the videos its features really make up for having to do A2 test
Having the A2 doesn't mean you lose your ability to use article 16 either. You simply decide the rules under what the flight will take place at the time it takes place. Its just useful to have and gives you more options.
I took and passed the A2 Open exam at 7pm today, having started the course at 2pm. I got 80% (pass mark 75%) and would have got higher, had the exam not had 4 questions about batteries. The course I took didn't have any detailed info on batteries. I recommend brushing up your Li-Ion knowledge, certainly if taking the exam in Ireland.
Thanks for you video Darren , can you tell me more about "Low seed mode" . I have the Mini 2 at the moment love it. Does the Air2S have low speed mode , thanks :)
Great video,I'm interested in this,1 question that niggles me,what happens if your flying and failure of drone hits someone or something what would happens then, things do pack up
looks pretty handy way of passing, like that a lot and a bargain ! One question - As a Mini2 owner what advantage would I get from passing it? as it sounds like no advantage to me
No advantage whatsoever. Dont bother unless you have a heavier drone. The mini2 is exempt and far more flexible. I passed my A2 in Feb with UAVHUB and have never needed it. And 50m is still too restrictive. Wait for a certified drone and then get the A2
@@gimbalair Thanks for the reply, Yes Darren ahs the mini2 in shot form the start but doesn't mention at any point in getting A2CofC is of any use with the mini2. I only have a mini2 and not planning on changing as I do all I need with it. Cheers for the reply
I just passed my A2 CofC with 97% thanks to ur advice on doing the mock exams... Did them 11 times in about 2hrs and only got 1 question wrong and I knew the bloody answer, but forgot to change it lol.
Darren, thank you for this information. I was so apprehensive who I should go to and sign up. You’ve also given me confidence to do this, especially after all this awful COVID business and wondering if I’ll ever get back to theatre production. I’m turning 50 in a week, so this might just give me more choices in deciding 😃
Me too, i.e UAVHub ☆, A2 CofC 100%. I, however, have an original Mavic Air, and a Parrot Anafi, which are both under 500g, so i can fly them in the same A1 air space (but not over people) as my Mini 2. Stay safe! Ian :-)
what would i need to fly a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise for roof inspections commercial buildings like B&Q, The Range, and similar structures in the UK? do i need a (GVC) or will it be ok with (A2 CofC)
A quick question: I have a plot of land in a uk town which I have planning application for a new build a 8 apartment flats. I want to do some aerial images of the land and the surronding slope. One side across the road is a line of terraced houses, the other is trees with a slope going to allotments. If I am on my fenced off land (where the building is going to be built and send my Air 2 S up for the aerial shots, would having a A2 COFC cert cover me if the police decide to come and question me, or would I also have to apply to CAA for flight permission for the day?
*Hi Sir can you enlighten me with the main restrictions on the sub 249g and 249g and above drone restrictions which you mentioned. I have the Mavic Mini. I also have my Flyers ID which I got 3 years ago and also have an Operators ID as well. Please I need to know why and what will be difference when I’ll get an Air 2S regarding the distance and other restrictions…*
been braking the law and flying close to buildings/people doing fpv and didnt even know it! thought registering and putting the ID on my drones was enough but seems not. glad i saw this video after looking for commercial drone license info. crazy coincidence that i just bought a air 2s off ebay used lol as i want to do paid work at events with it combined with my fpv drones. so does the a2 cofc let you fly commercial and get paid for work?
Does this include the air 2 Darren at the moment I'm living near a military Air base at I'm only flying the mini 2 yet I got the air 2 and it's hardly had any hours in the air so really interesting just hope it's easy because I've got a brain like a cif but I have got common sense 😁 definitely check this out nice one Darren 😁👍👌🇬🇧
Yes it includes that drone , it’s basically great for any drone over 250g ! Honestly legally I cannot show you but the mock tests are spot on, if you do then 10 times for examples, you will pass trust me
Thanks for the information, but can I ask, what will happen or what will it mean once the s2 becomes a legacy drone? Will that mean you will no longer be able to use it? Many thanks, Ryan.

As you say it's only for 18 months, lot of money for a little time, once legacy what will it be worth to resale. I did my A2 with UAV hub can't recommend them enough.
You will still get around 600 for it once legacy . The new Air2S would launch around may/June 2022 so I would sell once that comes out and upgrade hopefully to a c stamped version.
I still never earned a single penny on flying my mini 3. I am going to get the A2 license so I can maybe sell my pilot services to someone else in the drone business because finding customers seems like impossible.
