  • The indication "Mockup" is a great tool to design a clip-on or a virtual waxup.
This workflow performs a hard cut to the model after you finish your design.
That gives you the freedom to design a beautiful thin mockup,
without needing a preparation, margin line or minimum thickness.

      Hi @taiyaki6938,
yes, just select "Pre-op model" as additional Scan under "Options and Parameters" in the Dental DB, adapt your setup to it and following the workflow you saw in our tutorial.

I have exocad 3.1 I made a mock up design my patient loves it so much I want to use exactly the same design after preparation please how should I do it? Is there any tutorial?

      @exocadvideos  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hello @a1gle,
this is easy, just duplicate the case including the tooth library. Then change the indication, save and start the design. Your setup will be imported automatically.
As you can see here: ruclips.net/video/YATl1IHJ8VU/видео.html

Once you have designed the mock up, I am confused how to ONLY print the snap on mock up and not the merged wax up on model. Could you please clarify or is there a video on that already?

      Hi @juliekwon2267,
How to design and print only the mockup you can see in this video: ruclips.net/video/y5bMsmX53YM/видео.html
How to print the mockup merged with the model we show in this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/vfjhFaXd2Cs/видео.html

can you do a mockup and export this with the standalone version of exocad?

    • @exocadvideos

      Hi @evanuijtert,
No further modules are required. All you need is the core version of DentalCAD Galway, Rijeka or higher to design and export a mockup.

      Hi @Mostafa Mansouri,
this is a perfect example of why creating a "Virtual Waxup" helps solving difficult cases.
One solution could be the following: First you select one "mockup" as indication and setup your design.
Second you reassign the indication to waxup on both abutments and restart the design to use the virtual waxup to finally adapt this one design to both margin lines.
