So I'm trying to play this game too right now, and I apparently made the mistakes of both leveling up a lot quickly and putting it to the stat that gives you more which fire, as well as leveling up gnosis. Both of these things increase game difficulty scaling significantly, so i did all the things that make the difficulty harder while not doing much to make my offense better. Best to not level up gnosis till you have to and just focus all your efforts on upgrading everything at the mirror. So apparently metanoia is counterproductive because the difficulty goes up, whereas I think you get health regen stuff so Max health is a good choice and obviously stamina
