    Media, especially down South don't ever seem to get it. Scottish Independence is not about just one person or party.

      @@josephnye3088 Scottish independence and the SNP are now dead because Scotland and the Jocks need to grow up and realise that Scotland can never become independent as we will never allow it as England gives the orders and Scotland must comply or else, such an uneducated, Lazy and work shy lot who don't want to work and live off us English Tax Payers giving them Generous welfare benefits, housing, NHS, and free University, It's time for Scotland and the Jocks to grow up, for goodness sake Scotland stop voting SNP and start voting someone else such as Conservative or Labour, the SNP have done nothing, LEARN 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

    We may share the same unelected head of state and a unitary authority in Westminster but the reality of Scotland and England being two different and distinct countries (and cultures) has existed for nearly two thousand years. The trivial problems of one single political party in 2024 isn't suddenly going to change that.

Plus, fun fact: The nobles who sold Scotland out to the English back in 1707 immediately regretted it, once they realised their mistake, and tried to end the union.

      England was founded in 939AD.
      Scotland around 1040.
      Barely 1,000 years.

    A very interesting point was raised during the interview. Why is Scotland able to provide free university places while people, such as my daughter, in England have to take on crippling debt.

      Does she have a second degree. Did she borrow from a bank?
      My sister is about to finish uni. She will pay from her salary. It's not really a debt.

    What nationalism will die first British nationalism or Scottish nationalism.
    Let's have a couple of British Nationalists pontificate on the subject.
    England needs to realise that it must stand on it's on two feet, rather than continually feeling the need for the sweaty socks to give it legitimacy.

      She was Nicola Sturgeon's chief of staff (essentially her closest advisor) so she is a part author of a lot of what's going on now. I don't think anyone should be rude to her but tough questioning is fair.

      @@skykid3 the uk was never actually asked in he first place. Ted Heath took us in without a vote as he was worried he wouldn’t get he answer he wanted. We were assured it was for trade only .That was 1973. The referendum in 1975 asked if we wanted to stay in h common market. and so the deception was perpetuated. Heath even admitted to the lie shortly before he died. Follow by successive governments.

    I am curious to hear the independence case for ending the current free trade relations and flow of capital with Scotland's largest economic partner, England.

      Yeah? I'm sure Scotland and Wales would really like to hear how England would plan on generating solar, wind power and where they are going to get 60% of their drinking water from. Hint: It is all imported into England!
      England has never had what it takes to make it as a big name alone. It just knew how to control and take over other countries that had what it needed!

      Wow. Talk about false equivalence. Brexit is about burning bridges. Plus, it's not technically "independence". Scotland wouldn't be independent of Great Britain. Scotland would be dissolving Great Britain.
