I can’t believe no one makes a more elegant solution than this. All you need is a camera with its own battery source and the ability to connect to your phone via Bluetooth. That’s it. If I can see what the camera see’s on my phone I don’t even need a set of goggles. These cars aren’t moving fast enough to require that type of viewing.
Excellent overview of this gimbal system. I ordered a 3-axis version last night. I remember ground FPV racing on big farm dirt track with a buddy was some of the the best and most fun FPV I've ever done, and I've done collective pitch helicopter, quad, and fixed wing FPV! 6:55 - Those antennas need separation and should be mounted vertically in a V configuration. Will get better range in more conditions. You can just mount them each on a flexible thicker zip tie, one each.
Great video! From the assembly/installation to the driving and overall details. I actually searched and found your video based on wondering how these cameras connected and operated. Subscribed and glad I found your thoroughnrss 🔥
I'm coming from RC planes and drones where FPV is very popular. I was surprised to see that FPV isn't more common with RC cars. It seems like it would be hard to protect the FPV camera during a rollover. Like you said, a gimbal helps a lot with shaky video.
That's what I was looking for! I have Hominator goggles, as well as the WS WRX. Will head tracking work with them? And the second question: Does it stabilize the video feed? Thanks!
Nice! Unfortunately the head tracking is proprietary to the Walksnail Goggles L and the new CaddxFPV Gimbals. You will need both of these in order for the head tracking to work. I would highly recommend checking them out, I am actually about to put the system on my Arrma Infraction 6S 👀
@@DrewFPV to be honest I am not 100% sure as I do not have the Goggles X to confirm. When I go the their website, it does say that the Gyro for the Goggles X is n development so either it will be released for an upcoming model or possibly a software update.
@@TheUserReview@TheUserReview Great, it's good that I vent with Dominator goggles; I'll wait until a new Goggles X comes out with the head tracking. I can't use box-type goggles, giving me motion sickness. Thanks!
@@DrewFPV I would still recommend checking out the new Goggles L. I’m not saying this because they sent to me but they’re pretty awesome. Resolution is crystal clear and are comfortable (even with my big head). For only $200 they beat pretty much anything else on the market. They also support attachable vision lenses to help with eyes. I would recommend checking that out on the website
Yes believe it or not it really made a difference. With no fan it was pretty hot to the touch but with it keeps the temps in a normal range. I am using the Element Enduro Knightrunner as the truck!
Awesome build, brother! I need to get one of these ASAP that stabilization looks better than when I'm using. Do you have any yaw-jitter issues when going higher speeds?
@@ChaddRainsFPV thank you very much! There’s some but not much. I haven’t gone insanely fast with it yet so I can’t really give a for sure answer. I plan to put it on my Arrma Infraction 6S here in a little bit to see how it will do at higher speeds.
@@TheUserReview Right on man! I did a review for the HEQ Gimbal and they've made some solid attempts at fixing the 'yaw-jitters' at higher speeds but it's not easy. I've got some work arounds but it would take headtracking on the yaw axis out of the equation. Subscribed can't wait to see a follow up 👏🤙
This video pinpoints a lot of stuff that a newbie would have no clue about. I know the 3-axis gimbal is ideal, but can somebody just rigid mount the camera system to get started and do OK? It isn’t clear how you download updates and other things needed to get this up and running. All in, if you do the 3-axis gimbal, you’re talking about $600? Thanks.
Hi Kodak! Thank you for the comment and I would be happy to help. Yes, you can just direct mount a camera to your RC car and be just fine. The issue with this is that without stabilization, the camera feed is extremely bumpy and can cause motion sickness and overall non-ideal viewing pleasures. It really all depends on what you want in the end. I have had FPV systems before without stabilization and I could only last about 10 minutes for I got a headache and had to take a break.
@@TheUserReview Is the range realistic on the ground? I have a RadioLink transmitter controlling my buggy and have gotten 1200 feet before my video broke up on my cobbled together system. It supposedly has a 600 meter/1900+ feet range. As far as cost is concerned, you can buy a DJI mini 4K and get a ton of range, with a FlyMore kit, for $400. It’s cheaper to fly, but I have to contend with windy conditions most days.
Hello! The head tracking function can be turned on or off from the goggles itself. Even with head tracking turned off, the gimbal will still be functional.

I can do that 👍

That gimbal was shaking all over the place. So much jello in the footage. Gyro flow will absolutely destroy that gimbal in a comparison
Are you able to control gimbal without a cable from goggles to transmitter?
Hello! The head tracking function can be turned on or off from the goggles itself. Even with head tracking turned off, the gimbal will still be functional.
Whats the range of this??
Ground level without any interference is around 0.25-0.5 miiles
How to record video from FPV cam?
What rc car is that?
Element Enduro Knightwalker/Knightrunner would be what it’s modeled after. But it’s primarily the Enduro Builders Kit V2
i wouldn't say "worlds most advanced" i think it would be way better if you had the body on and that camera gives drivers view with interior
The gimbal was so bad tho? So much jello and shakiness
Good Range with Rc Cars it's not simple, there are too many obstacles and interference. Half a mile it's all I could get.
Can i get this on online
