Great tips. Lately, I have had that very problem happening intermittently and it is caused by Win10 updates :-(. I install the update, (KB whatever) > I get the problem. However, I can generally boot on the 2nd or 3rd attempt , I then remove the update > all works fine... It only seems to happen on HP notebooks and the official explanation is some HP custom security layer that conflicts with some of the Win10 code. Usually, HP comes up with a fix within two weeks... I have a Spectre X360. Cheers!

What can I say? You are my hero. You just helped me fix my customer's laptop. Thank you. Honestly, I thought about changing the bios settings back to default, but talked myself out of it. As soon as I saw it in yours, I went ahead and did it because all my hardware tests indicated no errors. So it had to be something more simple.

Hi @YesiiTells when you do the confirmation like the 5222+enter...you need to make sure that you inserted an external device or usb drive that has the bootable windows.. so when it restarts it loads the bootable windows from the usb /external drive then youll see the option to fix your windows or install clean hope that helps
