Dear sir tomo arigato for this wonderful video. I know this anime made us dream about how attacks would look in real life and this was superb job and performance. I know throwing ribbons or streamers at artists is a sign of respect and appreciation from the audience so this deserves 1000 or more.
I heard that Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu really existed once in Japan It was derived from the Real life Kendo Shiten Ryu The person who learn it was Kawakami Gensai, unfortunately he was executed
I thought Kawakami Gensai disappeared after the war. He’s the epitome of a killer. Dude would chop off the heads of his enemy, laugh about it and showcase it to his fellow warriors. I highly suggest everyone to read the book Samurai Revolution.
4:40 is also a good strike, if you think more in a "war-like" situation. You have motion to kill one and clean your field of vision by putting that one on the ground faster , knock out other comming to you with the tip of your saya and still have body motion to deliver a strike on that same second or on a third person.
Nice demonstration lol. Loved the reenactment. The only (reasonable) thing shy is that the ougi is supposed to be a two staged attack such that the first swing might miss, but a full 360 rotation with the sword coming again (as opposed to the sheathe follow up in Ryu-Sou-Sen) if the first attack is blocked, parried, or misses. What would have also been a hilarious move to show was in the anime filler arc - Ryu-Mei-Sen -- the sword of light that blinded Kenshin for a while.
Well done good sir. I’ve watched samurai x and the rurouni kenshin anime several time since I was a child. Have even tried doing some of the techniques when I was a teenager. Glad to see what a properly trading person can do. Thank you.
👏👏👏 I've just recently posted a video about Kuzuryusen too 😝 what a coincidence!. But of course Warakiri Battosai Sensei's Video & many years of Skills is always so good to watch. Reproduce Anime techniques is great! maybe I will do more of Rurouni Kenshin Techniques. btw who is excited for the up-coming Rurouni Kenshin Anime?!
That Souryusen was very impressive. Kuzuryusen looks really hard if not impossible. As for the Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki, maybe a bigger target is needed tp see if its really powerfull. Overall a really good and enjoyable video.
Kuzuryusen is literally impossible, because it's supposed to simultaneously strike all 9 vital spots on the foe's body from a normal kendō stance, not consecutively like the video shows here.
Who else is excited to watch the remake anime series that's started? So far, it looks like it's sticking closer to the manga. I hope we finally get the full Tenshu Arc animated this time. So far they're blending the comedic style of the original anime with the more serious tone of the OVAs. Regrettably, this seems to mean no 'calling your attack.' Otherwise it's looking good so far.
Rurouni Kensington is the anime that got me into anime. It is my all time favorite. I loved the live action movies. I’m also enjoying the new anime. This was a great video. Makes me want to learn!! Thank you!
Very nice.I started watching Samurai X TV series anime at the age of 30 .I love that show even till these days.I have recorded all episodes and saved them
since hiko said the best hiten mitsurugi's attack is kuzu ryu sen (9 directional attack), amakakeru ryu no hirameki is defence stance that surpass every incoming slash of the enemy, no matter whoever your enemy is, if your life depends on 1 single blow, boosted adrenaline and will of living gave u strenght that every human have inside them.
Kograshi and Arashi are aerial spinning attacks with the sword Ryu Son San (the Raid attack) 9 vital areas targets 9 areas at a high-speed almost simultaneously. Kuzu Ryu Sen targets all 9 vital areas so fast it is simultaneous
that ryumeisen look simple but for me its look like the hardest move from all of it. need a super precision to sheathe katana with that speed. hats off master.
The Tsuikohen OVA has some pretty good grounded interpretation s of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. Hiko's Kuzu Ryu Sen in the beginning of the OVA is a good example. Reminds me of my friends and I trying out Kenshin moves back in the day!
So ryu Sen is a battojutsu technique that leads with the saya So ryu Sen Ikugsuchi is a variation of that battojutsu that is a double-draw leading with the sword rather than the saya.
The Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki looked really Good even at normal speed! Only thing I would have wanted to see the Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki with the double strike variation. (Flying dragon’s fangs and claws). Very impressed, that I am.
looks different in real life… but great job, btw!!! you don’t get close to me with a kitchen knive… or long nails. is like every thing got cut. my enormous respect!!
I've always been a huge fan of the series and always understood that all of those attacks are fantasy. However, I gotta say, even recreating them IRL they look deadly!
It is interesting to see the final technique to be a dashing slash from battou stance, unlike in the anime where he does it standing (zero?) stance, into a batto jutsu with an extra step. Also, a good additional bonus would be the Souryusen-Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki combo, or the double Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki, performed in the anime during the final battle with Shishio
according to the manga, ryumeisen was the technique that defeated enishi..it caused him to puke and he breaks his own ear to try to overcome the effects but it was too late..
My eyes saw samurai's clothes in your left side. Would you like to tell me, is it really samurai's clothes? Or what kind of clothes it is? I am so curious 🤔
Great job! If I had to nitpick something, I'd say Arashi and Kogarashi Ryuu Kan Zen are aerial attacks and that you missed the second part of the Ougi.
Naturally we would never get to see Amakakeru ryu no hirameki since its fantasy attack so blindingly fast it took shishio a master swordsman to learn the hint of Kenshin´s footing to even be able to counter it. Everything else was amazing an on point, could see them easily being used
Of all these techniques, Ryukansen and Souryusen actually make sense even at normal speed. Amakakeru ryu no hirameki could even work provided that you could fool your opponent into thinking you're ending the attack on your right foot instead of the left.
It'd get really awkward to try and adjust the timing of the sword draw, though. Draw at normal Iaijutsu speeds, and you may be too slow, draw too quickly, and, unless you have a Sakabato, say goodbye to your left femoral artery.
Kon'nichiwa Warakiribattosai sensei, it would really help if you insert some video clips from the anime and then shouting it while performing ... just saying and hope it helps... now I'm wondering, can we request RORONOA ZORO of one piece.
Aren’t all of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu Battojustu (they are all done from with having the sword being drawn as part of the technique)? Then again this question comes from a non-iaido/battojutsu student/practitioner
This was so unrealistic! You didn't yell out the move names before doing them!!!! And where was the dragon wind on the amakakeru ryu no hirameki??? That being said, awesome video! Kenshin holds a special place in my heart as well! And from what I just saw from Episode 1 of the reboot, it's going to be even more amazing!
Runouni Kenshin has a special place only for special shows in my heart the show was just different than others
I’ve watched too much anime. I imagined that after every re sheathing of your katana that more delayed damage would be done. 🤣
His technique is so advanced, additional damage came 2 weeks later in the mail. ***opens envelope.bits of wood.found additional damage***
holy sht i almost died laughing
Hey, I support this It needs to be in a RPG game.

I am a huge Samurai X and Rurouni Kenshin fan! This was a great video! Very entertaining and well done!
This was an amazing demonstration. The spinning sword draw was incredible
I expected amakakera riyu no hirameki to be two strike and also generate a black vortex after the first strike :P
You don't know how much I have been looking for a video like this to analyse the technique! 😍😍😍 you arw a completely genius!
These are really very well done. I'm quite impressed!
龍巻閃系の技なんであんなに回ってたりしてるのにしっかり物落ちで切れてるんだ
マジで藁切りさんの技術すごすぎる
5:26 That movement was certainly at god's speed
I though it was really nice too

Sugoi. Thank you for the wonderful video.
I heard that Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu really existed once in Japan

The person who learn it was Kawakami Gensai, unfortunately he was executed
It apparently combination of fast pre Parkour movements and kenjutsu.
The lost art, Shiranui-ryū
Gensai was so skilled that he could assassinate multiple people in broad daylight
You guys forget he’s cutting all of these with a reverse blade, impressive
I thought Kawakami Gensai disappeared after the war. He’s the epitome of a killer. Dude would chop off the heads of his enemy, laugh about it and showcase it to his fellow warriors. I highly suggest everyone to read the book Samurai Revolution.
awesome content sensei samurai! thanks for sharing with us! Samurai X really cool anime!

You did an amazing job. 👏

本当に素晴らしい!!
Takeru Sato is able to imitate Kenshin's actual run like in the manga-anime.
Thank you for showing us the reality of how ridiculous and unconventional theatrical fights are.
Edit: That cutting at 4:10 was damn good tho
4:40 is also a good strike, if you think more in a "war-like" situation. Do you hold any more knowledge on the style or any other styles? I wanna start training
The only martial arts technique fast enough for that would be escrima.
Can i ask something
The back edges sword of the movie of samurai x
It is real or no?
Greetings from Mexico! Nice touch of the english subs.
You can really see the difference between the Zan and non-Zan version of Ryusuisen. The former is truly a murderous technique.

This guy is amazingly talented, and hilarious 😂
"It's over Anakin. I have the high ground." "Don't try it." 😂
A an old school sucker for the samurai movies and a nerd, I did watch it,
So ryu Sen is a battojutsu technique that leads with the saya
So ryu Sen Ikugsuchi is a variation of that battojutsu that is a double-draw leading with the sword rather than the saya.

How come my laptop volume seems broken? There's no more sound
This was really good, the consecutive slashes and the sword draw are so fast
bonus映像はナイスでした😂
Balls of steel folded over 1000 times to jump off that little stool with the katana unsheathed
yeah seeing the attacks in real life kinda... makes them seem to be pretty bad xD
but loved the anime, specially the 4 "origin" ova's
Were you expecting him to jump above 5 storeys into the air and a dragon in the background? Lol.
The Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki looked really Good even at normal speed! Only thing I would have wanted to see the Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki with the double strike variation. (Flying dragon’s fangs and claws). Very impressed, that I am.

What a coincidence, when the "bonus" part came up, I immediately thought of Doryusen, and would you know it, it was the bonus move! :)
Very clean cuts!
As expected from an anime fighting style, you'd be dead against a proper user of the katana.
This is about the style, the man is clearly skilled.
Naturally we would never get to see Amakakeru ryu no hirameki since its fantasy attack so blindingly fast it took shishio a master swordsman to learn the hint of Kenshin´s footing to even be able to counter it.

Where’s the reverse blade?
