Thank you! It was a stunning trail, and I'm considering returning to do the Alta Via 2 route! I used my iPhone 15 to film everything since I didn't want too much extra weight with gear.
What is amazing, that today nearly nobody follows the original trail at the end, which is a descent via the Forcella del Màrmol to the Refugio 7 Alpini. You might even had to stay at the Bivacco del Màrmol if you were late. This was one of the highlights of this trail. In my days nobody went down to the bus stop, this would have been the ultimate failure.
I’m glad you enjoyed your time on the AV1! I looked into that option, but it seems the route nowadays popularly goes down to the bus stop to avoid some areas on the last bit. And that’s what worked for our timing and schedule! I don’t think spending a few days in nature no matter where you finish is a failure at all 😊 Happy hiking!
