I saw your Short and instantly knew I wanted make a blanket. I’ve never crochet before, so I paused and played back at least 50 times but I finally got the hang of it. I might have spend my whole day today crocheting 3 rows 😂 Don’t know why I thought It was a good idea to do a 5 ft x 7 ft blanket 😅
I love your enthusiasm 😂 Your project will be a long term one but the end result will be a beautiful weighted blanket! Definitely share your progress ♥️
@@abe3870 😂😂 It went really well. At first. It took about 20 balls of yarn for about 5 x 2 ft and I did it in about two weeks. After that I had to wait for the store to get new yarn 😂 then life happened. I got into a new relationship, started a new job with 50h work week and haven’t touched it anymore basically. Tho I did do a few smaller projects that turned out beautifully ☺️
I am so glad to come across your tutorial, your voice is calm and soothing, your instructions are clear and precise, there is no extra talk (not that it would be bad) but the way you show and talk allows me to concentrate on the stitch and the instructions. Really lovely, thank you :)
I’ve seen a lot of people saying they struggled with tutorials for this stitch. I didn’t have the chance to struggle because I managed to stumble upon this tutorial first. Learned in a couple minutes and I’m now several rows into a pretty large blanket, which is going perfectly. Thank you so much for posting this 💕
This was the third stitch I learned. It was called the snowflake ❄️ stitch way back in the 1980’s. Beautiful pattern. I’m going to make wash cloths with this stitch. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for this tutorial! This stitch has always intimidated me, mainly because every instructional video was too fast or not enough detail for my neurodivergent brain.. You have the most calming voice! You have helped tremendously!
Everything here is fantastic: the stitch, the presentation, simplicity, music and the explanation. Beautiful, calm voice, no unnecessary words. Chapeau! ❤
Loved your video, I’ve been wanting to do this stitch for the longest, but I was never able to find the right instructions, until now! Thank you. I also need you to know I love the way you edit your video the music is perfect and not annoying. Most videos I have to mute which makes it harder to listen to instructions. I look forward to more of your videos.
Beautiful stitch, tried with other tutorials but did not understand how to do the stitch, your explanation is so calm and easy to understand. Making a baby blanket now😊thanks
Thank you for explaining what to do after drawing up the loops. Holding the one strand makes all the difference! I would like to learn how to make this stitch in the round. Any recommendations?
Thank you for videos tutorial , I 'm definitely going to try my hand at it. I want to know what I can use this stitch for beside using it for making blankets 😊😊
LOVE this tutorial!!! I appreciate how you not only explain what to do, but you explain why we are doing what we are doing! It really helped me wrap my mind around the pattern, and make the adjustments needed to create a cone. Again, thank you!!!
Wow! LOVE this stitch! Just finishing watching The Lincoln Lawyer S 3 Ep3 tv series and this stitch was mentioned!! Happy that I heard of it and now found YOU! Thanks for your excellent video tutorial.. love your calm clear soothing voice!!❤ Oh, what was the name of the yarn that you used ? I am thinking of making lapghans for wheelchairs for my local nursing home. Can you share how many stitches for the foundation and size? Again, thanks so much for your help and time!😊
This is the I love this yarn from Hobby Lobby. There is a similar color way from Impeccable Yarns at Michaels. Once you determine the size that you want your blanket to be, make your foundation chain that length. Have a tape measure on hand to make that pattern easy.
Wow! This is a beautiful pattern! But it looks extremely thick. Would you use this type of stick for a baby blanket? Would it hold its shape for a bigger, heavier project?
You could use it for a baby blanket. You can use it for a variety of projects, you would just need to select the material that is appropriate for what you want to make.
Loved this tutorial!! I watched a couple others and couldn't seem to figure it out. This one was sooo easy though. Just wondering, is there a different way to add a border on this stitch?
No make the chain of foundation puffs the length you need. For instance, If I want my foundation chain to be 50 inches, I would continue adding to the chain until it is that length. You don’t have to worry about multiples.
Dear miss, do you have more stitches which makes your work looks the same at the good and the backside? I really like this stitch, but i was wondering if there are more with this effect. Love from the Netherlands Violetta
Hello! There are many stitches that look the same of both sides. I will just list a few: - The Arcade Stitch - V Double Crochet Stitch - The Shell Stitch - The Single Crochet Rib Stitch I don’t currently have any videos for these stitches but there are a ton of great tutorials on RUclips for each one ♥️
It depends on a few factors. The weight of yarn you are using and the size of blanket you are making. I suggest making a gauge swatch with your yarn of choice and then use that information to determine how much yarn you will need.
Hello. I have a question regarding the yarn. I get that “I Love This Yarn” is brand name like Red Heart. Right? Then I don’t understand “category 4/worsted weight” i love this yarn ivory tweed”. I get “ivory tweed” is the color. I’m just learning and need help understanding so that I could make another color selection other than what’s in the tutorial. Thank you. 😁
I love it! The amount of yarn needed depends on what size project you plan to make. An easy way to do this is make a gauge swatch. Message me on Instagram and I can walk you through it ♥️
Hello! This video just explains the Jasmine stitch and how to work it. It is not a pattern. The amount of yarn needed will depend on what you would like to make and the size. I highly suggest creating a 4inch by 4 inch gauge swatch using the yarn and hook of your choice. This swatch will help you to determine how much yarn you will need for the project you plan to make.
Is there a specific count on the first row (like multiples of 3) or do you create until it’s the length you want? thank you, this is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you! No, there is no specific stitch count. Let’s say you want to make a blanket that is 36 inches wide. All you would do is keep making foundation puff stitches until the foundation row equals 36 inches. (You could also calculate your exact stitch count if you make a gauge swatch. This is helpful if you want to make items of different sizes. My gauge is 4 puffs stitches x 4 rows = 4in x 4 in . So if I want a 36 inch wide blanket I would need to start with 36 puff stitches).
I noticed that you keep saying that you close it with a slip stitch and then do a second slip stitch...but those are actually chain stitches, not slip stitches.

Not as easy as it looks!!! Its about keeping tension in the right place so the chain stitch stays tight and your loops dont get pulled short!!
Tension can be tricky but it comes easier as you work this stitch more and more. ♥️
Id love to send you a picture of what ive created. But dont know how
Beautiful stitch, tried with other tutorials but did not understand how to do the stitch, your explanation is so calm and easy to understand. Making a baby blanket now😊thanks

This looks like it takes an insane amount of yarn!
It is 100% a yarn eater.
You make it look so easy and fun. I wanna try to make my daughter a baby blanket for her baby and I like the yarn you chose too. Wish me luck

Oh just beautiful thanks for sharing this stich ❤ I've have so many ideas for this which one too start first. Sincerely Tracey.
This is so beautiful! Could this be used to make a beanie and matching scarf?
You surely could! If you find the fabric to be too thick, you can reduce the number of yarn overs in each “petal” to create a thinner fabric.
I love this! Thank you!
I love this stitch. Do you have a recommended boarder stitch for a blanket made with the jasmine stitch?
I think a shell stitch would make a great border🧡
beautiful stitch. thank you for the tutorial, it helped me a lot!
You’re welcome 😊
Hey Human, one of my children is thinking about babies of her own. I promised to make her babies blankies. This is the perfect stitch...ahsante sana.

I’m working on a purse pattern that you could adjust to make a tablet case. It will be posted on the channel this month.
Amazing tutorial, but I need Help!! My loops keep tightening as I pull up the additional loops. How do I get them to pull through smoothly?
How beautiful is the jasmine stitch! I would like to make this stitch for a handbag. How do I proceed then?

Beautiful✨
Can we use this tutorial to create a carpet? If yes what fabric should I use?
Do you have an estimate on how much yarn is needed to use this stitch for making a throw blanket?
A real yarn eater, but really nice, especially for smaller projects. 👍🏼
I agree! It’s great for smaller projects.
Thank you sooo very much for sharing 😊
You are so welcome!
I love this! How much yard will I need for a baby blanket?
It depends on the size blanket you plan to make and your gauge.
how to make this stitch with a previous row of single crochet, in the round without increasing?
Does the foundation row need to be a specific multiple to work? Like multiples of 2 or 3, or will any number of puffs for foundation work?
Hi! Your foundation chain does not have to be a specific multiple. You can work any number.
Love this pattern
I love this unique stitch…is it possible to use to make a skirt.
You could definitely use it to make a skirt. It would be very thick depending on the weight of yarn you decide to use.
Could I pull up one less loop to make the puffs more manageable and the overall fabric thinner?
You definitely can adjust the number of loops you pull up to change the thickness of the fabric❤️
I am so excited to try this!
I was so scared of the jasmine stitch until this video, you make it look so manageable
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this comment ❤️

Pretty cute 100% absolutely i will try this thank you so much 🙏🙏❤️❤️
So is the foundation multiples of 6 puffs? Want to make it bigger and am unsure of how many puffs to do.
No make the chain of foundation puffs the length you need. For instance, If I want my foundation chain to be 50 inches, I would continue adding to the chain until it is that length. You don’t have to worry about multiples.
So should your first row be in multiples of 3’s?

My bf is gonna LOVE the Christmas blanket I just decided I'm gonna make him 😂
Get started now! Making a blanket with this stitch is going to take a while! 😂
Is it possible to build on it?? Like add more to the width/lengt after finishing it?
You definitely can! Just rejoin the yarn at the design starting point and begin working the Jasmine stitch.
If I have a blanket in progress and have a sc row and want to do this stitch can I make the foundation stitch on top of the sc?
You could just start making the petal clusters using the sc row as your foundation.
Do you do a christmas bauble?
I plan to post a tutorial for a Christmas bauble using this stitch on Dec 1st ❤️
What’s the difference of chaining one or chaining two at the beginning?
It’s just a personal preference. It will not affect the final product ❤️

Ok. Thanks! 😁
How many foundation chains do I need? Mutiple of threes?? Or does it not matter?
Doesn’t mayter
Can you show how to do this in a circle?
Check out the tutorial on my channel 🤎
I don't have a 6mm hook.Can I use a 5.5mm hook?
Use the hook size that works best for the yarn that you are using ❤️
Beautiful❤❤❤
What would you charge to make this as a baby/toddler blanket
I am not currently sell finished items.

Love it❤
Is it possible to make this when knitting?
I have not see a similar knit stitch.
Mine constantly ends up getting gaps in it, does anyone know how to fix that?
Once you get more comfortable with this stitch touch should be able to minimize the gaps and have a more balanced tension.
I love the pattern but mine just does not look like that 😢
It will get easier with more practice ❤️
Can you tell me what yarn this is?
“I Love This Yarn”, Color: Ivory Tweed
How much yarn do you need?
How many skeins of yarn do you need? And is there a pattern for this?

Such a pretty pattern! I think I will try making a kitchen scrubby with scrubby yarn. ❤️
So your puffs are about in inch long?
Is it too thick for a scarf ?
If you plan to use this stitch to make a scarf stitch to lighter weight yarns such as Sport, DK or Worsted.

To decrease you would make a 4 puff cluster.
