My good friend Walter at at St Lucie Customs in Stuart Fl. will be replacing mine in 2 days. Great video, thanks, my 05 Avalon needs front bearings, the factory ones made it to 213k miles. Between 35 and 40mph it sounds real bad. Wish I was young and strong enough to still do everything myself like the old days. You Tube is a wealth of information for those with a can do attitude. Great lesson video , good job brother. And if your looking for a good honest shop, call Walter at St Lucie Customs, you'll be glad you found him.
A trick I learned wad to put my hand on the coil spring and use my other hand to turn the wheel and if I felt the spring vibrate then that was the bearing needing replaced
@@alltsab I’m sorry. I just looked at this reply lol a year later. But yea especially from a stop when I put the car on reverse and turn my wheel, the popping noise comes from the front passenger side when I back up to my driveway. Afraid to go to the mechanic , probably going to tell me to replace everything lol
bro thank you for commenting this i would've spent so much time and would've ended up buying a press just to install one bearing, now i'ma return the bearing and order the knuckle assembly god bless you
@@alltsab I probably have to change the bearings but this seems like a lot of work so I was searching for parts and found the whole knuckle assembly which I’m assuming it comes with a bearing and just slap it on and done right?
$30 dollar bearing. Yes bought press years ago for $149. (20 ton) and had a couple friends buy other tools for me for changing theirs for the tools as my payment. I have done about 30 press in wheel bearings. There is an important process as to not ruin the new bearing and some bearings have a certain side that faces out due to ABS tone ring. First one can be challenging but once you do a couple it is like manually changing a tire. There is a process that has to be followed. And having the right tools is essential. I enjoy putting new bearings on cars.
The bearing is 94 dollars. The hub is 65. I didnt see how much that whole knuckle is. Even if you buy all 3 parts new you still have to press it in. Go to oreillys website and price the knuckle part.
Simple, easy lol for who? You mean those people that can't change their spare tire. Lol. I'm Glad I'm not one of them. (3 clutch job, multiple oil change and service, countless brake job and 350z engine complete rebuild and etc.) Thanks for sharing.
Even with not all the right tools still fix wheel berrings right..way. your a smart mechanic
You welcome 🙏
Its simple.. all you need is a big ass hydraulic press in the middle of your living room. lol.. No, great video. You explain things good.
I have one, it's trying to find blocks to get those lined up straight to press is the issue lol.

Good to know that 😊 thanks
Thanks so much..great video
Good job! You make it look easy, but I know it's hard.
Same issue with by sister 2012 Camry, but the noise only come at 15-25mph and stop. Driving spend below 15 or above 25 mph is quiet.
Do the test I did to see it wheel bearing
Excellent video 👍
I think the sell the hub with the the bearing already installed
not in these models.
previous yes
Good job!
What size socket for axel nut?
I think 30mm
12 point is the key also.
Why doesn't Toyota just use a hub to make this process easier
Its engineered that way so more people have to spend money at a dealership to get it done.
👋🏾, I have a 2007 Avalon When I turn my steering wheel to the left at low speeds I hear a clucking sound. What can that be?
I guess it could be your axle. It popping noise right?
@@alltsab does that infer that it's a bad CVJ.

You welcome buddy
I rather buy the whole knuckle assembly for 80 just replace everything even the lower ball joint comes with it
That will be nice

Nice
Since you have a press you should have used it to push the hub out instead of using the hammer lol
is that a harbor freight press?
Yup buddy
@@alltsab Thank you my friend. As I do more auto repairs on my vehicles, I find I need better and more professional tools. Thanks for your video.
@@wilassguess you welcome subscribe so we can connect to help each other in future videos ok buddy
@@alltsab Im in..
I wish he showed more of the technique and precision when he hits it with a hammer
You wanna do mine next? Haha
I will do it for you. They are easy
he jumps right over what hes doing with oil sensor
Why not just replace the whole knuckle assembly costs maybe $150-$200 instead of doing all this.
Good Idea 💡

$200 is low. Just a bare knuckle can be $300+. Buy the tool once and save 10K over a lifetime. And help friends and family.
