Dear Foresty, you are a gift to us. Thank you for being you and sharing your adventures. You are such a great videographer, and editor. your films are top notch. The way you share your world, and the world with us, is so encouraging. We know that the world is so bonkers right now, listening and watching you gives me peace. thank you Foresty, you are making the world a better place, and my world has improved since following you also. And can we talk about Rocko for a sec., she is the most delightful terrier that has ever existed. Thank you for always giving us a moment with her, in the eye candy that your videos are. And one more thing, your dimples have improved the quality of my life. Thank you, so much.
Foresty, thanks for your images displaying the garbage left on public lands. This gives opportunity for my soap box speech and that is America now needs National garbage service and removal, complete with public roadside dumpsters. Dumpers won’t pay dumping fees at landfills so they dump in our pristine wild spaces. I have encountered this all across America.
I don’t want to fight about it as I am Canadian, but I’ve never understood how badly Americans treat their beautiful country sometimes. Let me say; I feel like I have a small right to say that. I live full time in Texas with my American wife. We live close to the beach near Surfside. I used to walk the jetty every day to watch the ships come in. Talk to the people fishing. It would just anger me to come there and see how much trash they would leave everywhere. What are the causes? I never seem satisfied with any answers I come up with.
That area is about as bad as it gets. Not a representative example of Alaska. The Jim Creek area is reserved for hiding dead bodies, dumping trash , felony’s, murder, fornication, homicide, rape and larceny..

Welcome to the “The Valley.” As an Alaskan, the illegal dumping of crap is appalling not to mention embarrassing. I highly recommend doing the Talkeetna Traverse or the Bomber Traverse in Hatcher Pass or the Tutka Bay Traverse across from Homer. Safe travels!
I was about to say the same thing. There is specific " Valley " crowd that carry the attitude of " nobody is gonna tell me what to do" and keep hating on Anchorage but the fact is that they don't like any rules, even common sense rules of mother nature and they not really better in trash department, they just hide it better by dumping in a wild. They party hard and trash the land. It is heart breaking. Between this mess and increased tourism it is becoming harder to find a clean place to boondock and peaceful place to hike due to limited infrastructure that would give you access to all that beautiful land.

When we drove to Alaska 2 years ago we couldn't believe how alaskans treated their own state with throwing trash on the ground. It was citizens doing it too.
That was a really enjoyable video. Good to see your new pack raft looks to be a step up from the old one. Paddling whitewater used to be my number one thing to do outdoors, and I was jazzed to see you heading down that river. Do be careful though, because you tend to be far from most other people. Regarding the lack of backroads in AK. There was little or no logging, like in BC, or mining, like in CO, to create those roads.
