HARD SYNC! This looks deliciously designed. Loved the more wacky parts of the demo, the ones you called it a synth voice. Very interesting addition for clangorous sounds in generative patches.
love getting a new module and then consulting the accompanying divkid video for even more patch ideas! love the feedback example plus the "modular in a module" stuff you had going. masterful!
Thanks a lot, appreciate that. Yeah the channel feedback stuff is nice, some odd and interesting behaviours to find and then just the sheer range of the thing is pretty huge.
I was really impressed by this. Of course the demo is tremendous as ever :) when you point out the fact it has the tone generators, the vcas, the filters. Making these tones this with individual modules would be pretty nuts. I remember making the Roland cymbal for the splice in living 808 pack in made with jimmy Edgar. It’s a bitch to get that 6 osc blend right. This module has a lot of power. The choking really did it for me too. Great stuff
I remember talking to you about the living 808 pack as you were doing it, a mad amount of work and lots to remake and replicate from those circuits. Thanks as always! :)
17:00 was my fav patch, but Im bias! The multi trigger clap was so cool tho...but Im a sucker for most metallic sounding stuff...another module to add to the list, really like SSF stuff!!!
That AJH Multi Burst really helps get all those cool clap like things (that's a video to check out if you haven't ruclips.net/video/mFDIAxJl5Lk/видео.htmlsi=_0bYdcZyd2xeBCxE - not to push it). Thanks!
Also classifying any of the SSF Entity modules as “drum” modules deeply understates their depth, complexity and breadth of features. Andrew has made some real masterpieces, small synths in their own right.
they just sound RAW , i have slowly , but surely , been changing my attitude towards Eurorack Drums - to a point where im trying to "Remake" these strange metallic sounds on my Digitakt - i guess im hooked on these SSF modules - its hard not to like , when DiwKid´s finger gymnastic has been all over those pesky knobs ! 👍
finger gymnastics! haha. I haven't tried a Digitakt yet, but I did work with Elektron on sounds for the launch of the Digitone, that was fun and percussion was a fun road to go down with it. The SSF Entity line up (and in all fairness Andrew's work in general) really does just shine.
synthesising drums is always fun but it takes a load of modules to do it, the Entity range are a great set of flexible percussion voices that can all be bent and twisted into various things. Andrew (SSF) does great work!
I love the little visual jokes in your vids 😂 as for the MP, yeah I think it’s cool, but maybe not quite unhinged enough for me to buy. I’m currently looking at the Blue Lantern CMOS FX which is also percussion focussed, but with a battery-starved XOR design…whatever that is, it sounds exciting 😂 I think a blend-able external in would have been good for this module, to offer a free VCA/Ringmod.
Thanks, a bit of silliness for the fun of it. Glad someone else (beyond me amusing myself in the edit) likes it :) An input or two could have been fantastic, good idea. Ring mod, dual multimode filters and VCAs etc - always welcome. I have the Blue Lantern Mini Shimmery which does the multiple square wave cymbal thing, but it's nowhere near as flexible, I don't know the CMOS FX, I'll take a look.
Yeah the Mindphaser has been great, I'm preparing for a deep dive on that one in the future. SSF is on top form, really smart stuff in the line up and lots announced for future releases too.
Oh, so the B voice gets a different oscillator signal from the A voice. So would I be able to use A as a hi-hat (with CV controlled decay) and B as the other cymbal?
A&B pull out of the core oscillator set and waveshaping of those differently. Related but different. Then they go through their own filter and amp signal paths. So yeah you can use it as two sounds. But the top 3 controls for the oscillator cores will adjust both and A and B sources.
those triggers are from my sequencer, with a ratchet on the last steps so you hear that rhythm speed up / change rather than just a steady clock like pattern. Put the triggers in a VCA (VCAs really are the backbone of so much, totally important and overlooked, despite the "sayings") then use an envelope or LFO to control the VCA CV. That way the envelope or LFO determines the level of the triggers over time. As a means of trying to make this sort of thing simpler and nice to work with SSF realised the Impulse Dynamics (video here - ruclips.net/video/UKNRix1wUb8/видео.htmlsi=G0ykKjd76tlqY7tb ) which might be worth looking at, but I encourage patching these things up too.
@@DivKid Thanks so much for the great reply! I just realised it's the same sort of effect in that Boards of Canada song. I'm looking forward to mucking about with these ideas!
we're different, coming from different places and I think we're all better off having more of us be ourselves. Joey is a better Joey than me, I'm the bigger Div! haha
haha thanks for the shout ❤🔥🖤🧡❤
happy to
That dynamic trigger response is so very neat
Yeah a really smart addition to the few SSF modules that now do it (really nice of the gate module)

I can imagine you'd get lots of out this.
your videos always poetically break down the module. wow, this thing sounds magnificent and you're doing really cool stuff with it.
thank you, really appreciate that.
Its sounds are BEAUTIFUL! I am simply smitten. Previous demos I’ve seen gave me hope but this one gave me understanding.
What a lovely thing to say, thanks!
That "rag it around" jam was sick 💥💥💥
haha thanks

Thanks for the demo!! I learned a bunch of production techniques that will feed my recording and performing!!!
Excellent, that makes me very happy. I'm always hoping people can take away ideas to apply to anything they have from the videos.
Nice touch with the Yelle video. Good memories!
Glad you enjoyed it
Been waiting for this one since it was announced. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Great demo as usual Ben. HARD SYNC
HARD SYNC! I've been looking forward to it since the first hints of something coming too.
Yes!! Giving Blush Response a run for him money!!! This module sounds rad!
haha
I think I'm in love! This sounds great!
Thanks, enjoy the romance! :)

excellent demo, and SSF nailed it again!
thank you
hitting that soul coughing "blame" beat around the 21:00 mark. so groovy!
nice! thanks.
Your videos just get better and better!
Appreciate that, working hard and enjoying it.
That little snippet of Yelle inside DATA at 17:00 and in the intro sure brought back some memories
Hopefully good ones.
@@DivKid great ones! That was the heyday of Tektonik!

absolutely agree, I make this point regularly.
That's another one on the wishlist !

Very impressive.
Thanks, Andrew does great work.
I’ve been holding off building a dedicated drum rack for so long and this module makes me want to change that haha

@@DivKidHard synch nothing of it 👍🏼

FANTASTIC JOEY IMPRESSIONS 🔥🔥🔥
haha thanks
such a broad range of sounds. Some very real sounding drums and some very "electronic" ones too. AND a killer synth voice. OOFT
I expected a wide range, but I wasn't thinking I get snare like things and those chunky filtered back hits. Really nice.
Sounds great. SSF kills it always but especially recently. Off topic but Mindphaser sounds incredible.
Yeah the Mindphaser has been great, I'm preparing for a deep dive on that one in the future. SSF is on top form, really smart stuff in the line up and lots announced for future releases too.
nice, cool as an electro style
Indeed!
Well this might ease the thirst for a Machinedrum .

@@DivKid It's called Gyroscope, from the album Geodaddi. The song also includes numbers stations, which is a bonus!

it's all analogue, no secret modes, button combos etc.

So hard not to get two
thoughts of making a specific SSF drum machine modular rig keep coming to mind.
Your demos always sound like they come from a complete track. Any chance you do a vid on Basimilus Iteritas Alia?
@@DivKid do itttt. I’m nearly there but, I chose the jomox instead of ultra kick.
What's the black mute module?
Vortices expander
SSF V-MUTES
Unobtanium at the moment (the mutes).
