Your straps are installed upside down.

Some cool ideas. Can the safety straps be used instead of pins for partial lifts where you start lift from down position?

Hi Nordic , yes the safety straps can be used be used for partials. The only limiting factor is you can't do really low rack pulls unless you connect them to some rack pins at the top and use those as your anchor points. . I believe the straps are 5 feet long.

I'm thinking of starting my first ever garage gym... I am extensively researching power racks and safety for dismounting my squat at the bottom. This video has helped me a lot, I need to learn more! Could you please do a video demonstrating failure reps on each brother?

    Nice setup.

Thanks for your video. For your safety strap system with the J-Cups, do you have washers on both sides of the nut/bolts? And how tight should you screw the nut onto the bolt?

Hello, you are correct there is a washer on both sides and bolt that goes through it. Rogue Fitness makes them and I have had them for almost two years and never had to tighten the straps

Thanks for making this video. What Rogue model did you get?

Hello, Thanks. I got the Rogue RML-690 rack.

Nice. I've been looking at the R-490 and 4100C. But it's gotta be nice to have that many pegs to hold plates, especially since they're close but still out of the way of where you actually lift. And it must add to the overall stability of the PR

Ps. You sold me on getting safety straps. Didn't know about the finer height adjustment they enable. But that plus the fact that they're softer on your bar "if" I fail sealed the deal. :)

The R-490 and 4100C are nice racks. Since you are in the market for a new rack I am curious are you thinking about using weight trees to hold your plates, or a mass storage system or building something to hold your plates?

Is the pull up bar attachment strong enough to hold the weight in case you drop the bar?

Hey James, I think so there are several bolts holding that bar in place.

Good video. Love your setup. What straps are those? And how far do they span? Thanks.

Hello, the straps are the Rogue Fitness straps. They are 43 inches long.

Do you also own the Rack Saver Strap? If yes, is it worth the extra costs?

    • @OptimalTraining

Hello, I don't own any wrap saver straps. For my rack I just make sure the strap part is on rack and not the chain.
