- A better day in the workshop today as TWC the Invacar lends a hand, ferrying me to @CambrianClassicsLtd as I attempt to fix my Citroen GSA. More on that next time!
TWC is an Invacar Model 70, a blue three-wheeler built for wheelchair users in the 1970s. The design is by AC and they were classed as invalid carriages (hence the name Invacar).
TWC merchandise, and other lovely items, are available at HubNut.org - thanks.
The increase in price for Invacars is probably due to some bloke on RUclips called Ian making them interesting!
😂

This one made my day Ian, TWC finally out having a play on the roads again following an extended role looking after the unit. Along with Elle she's my favourite of the fleet, she has so much character. Many thanks for sharing.
Whenever you drive TWC I always just think of being a kid and riding your bicycle for first time without stabilisers Ian and your parents behind you saying “ keep going, run free “ 😁
Always enjoy seeing TWC's outings! 🙂👍🏻
TWC was the reason I watched your channel when you first collected it, we need more TWC.
Same here - one day when I was bored, I googled "invalid carriages at 1970s football matches" and one of the top hits was HubNut ;-)
We do
Such a cool mobile haha. I’m beginning to love these things.
Nice to see you're in a better mood today Ian now that you're in TWC. take care. 👍
I love these videos with TWC. It is such a basic car, from a completely different era, which makes every drive an adventure.
Great to see TUC getting some fresh air Ian. Very fond of this Machine!!!!!
Every time I see you drive TWC it fills me with awe for your bravery.
TWC the car that gives you more smiles per gallon than almost any other!
Good to see TWC back in use again 😉👍 !
It's always great to see TWC going off on adventures.
ahh, great to see lovely little TWC again
Everybody's day is cheered up by TWC!
That’s what you need TWC to bring a smile back on your face.
Blands garage in Scarborough used to service these. They fascinated me. Funnily enough I bought my first motorised transport from them. A mobylette moped...also belt driven!
When driving old cars, you always have a list of stuff you still need doing. Happy times.
Really enjoyed that video, not so much for the Invacar, which was fascinating but the route down to New Quay. Whildt my late daughter was at Aberystwyth University one of our favourite day trips was down to New Quay particularly in the winter when it was quieter, lovely memories
she really is a wonderful little car ian, I can fully understand why you enjoy her so much
Loverly to see TWC out again. TWC was one of the first things that got me addicted to your channel when you first bought her and had all the problems with the original engine.
Wonderful to see TWC out on an adventure. It was TWC that hooked me on HubNut in the first place, and I just loved how driving TWC completely changed your mood; that's what cars like TWC are all about, and why we own and drive them! We have nothing fun like these here in Canada, sadly, as I'd love to own one. TWC has the most fabulous engine sound (love air-cooled engines), thank you. This made my day.
It was TWC that got me onto your channel. Always makes me happy to see you out & about in it!
They really are something else to drive. I really enjoyed my shot of TPA , exactly a year ago in fact, and it's such an odd experience but one I'm so glad to have had. Morrisons car park was all I was brave enough to drive round though
I'd forgotten how much i use to love watching TWC barrel down lanes at such speed and carelessness, great video Mr HubNut.
Great to see TWK out and about ,project TWK got me into hubnut and I still think you can't beat a Twk video ❤
Nice to see TWC again!
I always love a car or anything that might help anyone with less mobility to have an active life. Tuc was the beginning of a life of freedom for a lot of people and for that they should be cherished.
Always good to see little TWCs happy face on an adventure. Who wouldn't smile seeing her pootling past? Great to see New Quay...loved it when I visited several years ago.
When you bought TWC I thought you'd seriously lost your mind, and I hated it. Now its my favorite member of the fleet. It just looks like oodles of fun to drive and it comes across just how much you enjoy driving it and how she cheers you up, and cheers other people up. Even that idle sounds makes her sound like a contented guinea pig chewing dandelion lol.
That's the spirit TWC,lend a wheel 🛞🤪😛🤟!!
This reminds me of my Mk1 R5.
Realistically, the low city gearing gets frustrating in an everyday 21st century setting.
But for the experience out and about, listening to the engine sing away, feeling the comical body roll on corners, it just lights up your face ❤
About time you got TWC out! The perfect antidote to French electrical woes :-)
It's so cool being a virtual passenger in this IC...
The old style window rubbers, the switch gear, the old warning lights.... and the ride akin to a welsh bus...
All magnificent... :D
I love that car Ian. I've no connection with them, or memories, never seen one IRL, but it just wins everytime. Thank you so much for getting it back on the road and showing it to the world. All your cars are great, but TWC, my goodness it's brilliant.
As a wheelchair user and disability rights activist I very much appreciate the way you think about the terminology regarding the disability carriages and disability Ian
So good to see TWC out n about! A mood lifter for you AND us! :)
Absaloutly brilliant video Ian ❤👍 lovely seeing tuk out always beautiful brilliant
Lovely to see TWC in action again. My favouite vehicle in the HubNut fleet. 😎
Excellent so glad to see twc is back on the road . Nice 1
Everytime you go out in TWC with a camera you take thousands of people with you!
I love Tuk. I think the Cushman three wheeled car is the closest thing we had to Tuk, here in the states. I also get stares and pictures taken of my classic beetle with a twenty four foot extension ladder and a six foot step ladder strapped on top......😂✌️🇬🇧🇺🇸✌️
i really enjoyed the outing .. thank you
I saw the Ebay'd one finished at around £2k!! Last week. That little one improves everyone's mood! 😄👍
"Sweaty Mullet"! Terrific video, love seeing TWC out and about.
TWC , the car with the most joie de vivre in the whole fleet ,lovely little thing.
I knew that TWC therapy was in order! If she can’t put a smile on your face then check your pulse. TWC and the smaller roads of mid Wales is my idea of complete perfection.
Seems I am not alone😂
My thoughts on everyone of these TWC videos are the same. Its great to see her on the road but it frightens the bloody life out of me😂
This has absolutely made my day! Back in the 60s/70s my paternal Grandfather had one of these following a WW2 injury. My Dad has fond memories of crouching down in the front while being taken to school on rainy days! I'll have to send him this! I'm a wheelchair user and I have a highly adapted 2022 Ford Tourneo Custom that I drive using hand controls and a tiller not dissimilar to TWC's though the brakes are operated similar to a set up on a push bike. So it's great to see a very distant ancestor of my van's up close. Big fan of yours and if you're ever in Lincolnshire/Humberside, I'll happily show you all the adapted bits on the van.
Lots of smiles when you're out in TWC - both outside the car and inside it. And the biggest thing it does to help the GSA is to improve your mood enough to go back to working on it.
From the day you chucked Twc into the back of that van with the other one , and drove it home , we had a great time watching you get her going again , the little train at the bottom of the garden , George as Forman and supervisor, and Rachel’s amazing strength lifting the engine in and out , lol happy days
Everyone loves TWC
It's lush to see TWC back out to play and she really seems to be enjoying stretching those little legs again! Wonderful little car! Maybe my favourite of the fleet? Definitely my 8 year old daughter's fave!
Nice Mullet incoming there Mr H!!
My favourite little car 💙
You didn't need a meter to check the oil pressure switch function; just ground the wire to the switch and the light should come on. If it does, the switch is the culprit, if not it's bulb or live supply.
I see the au falcon in the background there. I just got my ed falcon on the road again for my boy to learn with, after ten years in the shed. It goes so well if you can keep the fuel up to it. Next I have to try to get my vw fastback on the road again. All that's missing is motivation.
Two, running well, foreboding!!!!😮
Not possible to see a happier guy in his car
Awesome Ian. I live in leeds and in the super market car park this guy came up to me and was asking about my Renault Kangoo . Molly stand's out a mile in any car park really .He noticed Hubnut sticker on her and said wooow your subbed to Ian's channel so am i small world.
Fab TWC-venture. I smile everytime that I look at my little model TWC, thank you for making such smiles happen. Every HubNut/Ms Hubnut/HubNotes video notification brings a smile and anticipation.
I'm sure that it's because many of us like to live vicariously through people like you. "You guys" (please read that with a suitable accent) make life more awesome.. Thank you.
That looked great fun. Can't beat simple motoring.
I miss TWC videos🥰.
Always nice to see you driving TWC.
Tuc‘s blabbing sound from this Steyr-Puch engine… adorable! Thanks for the short trip, Ian. See you soon…
My great uncle from London had one of these and 3 times a year he would drive it down to Ramsgate Kent for his hoildays, One way trip was over 80 miles in that lttle thing he would start out at 6 in the morning and arrive a 8 at night.
Amazing little cars and fantastic to see it put a smile on your face Ian.
Every time I see TWC it takes me back to when I was a kid in the early 1960s, seeing a disabled ex- pilot in his blue uniform and cap, medals pinned to his chest, proudly driving his Invacar on his way to the Rememberance Day event in the Kent village where we lived.
Whereabouts in Kent are you as I have similar memories of these sightings from my younger days!
All TWC vids, are good vids!!!
So nice to see TWC get an Italian tune up.
1:31 takes me back: the intent expression of someone starting a car with carburettor and manual choke, on a warm day, knowing it won't need much choke, and listening to see whether a smidgeon* is enough or whether it still needs a smidgeon and a half. Kids these days with their EFI. I shudder to think of what it will be like when they apply AI to engine control.
* This is the way I spell it but the spell checker objects; I see Shorter Oxford lists it under "smidgen", whilst recording spellings "smidgin" (never heard of it) and "smidgeon". BTW, my optometrist, Chinese originally from Vietnam, when making fine alterations talks of adjusting something "smidgeonly." I enjoy having my eyes checked.
And not before time either!
My favourite of the fleet and, in truth, one of the most reliable.
My Favourite on the fleet
Omg thanks Ian I now know I’m one of the “older folk” looking forward to my holiday now the kids are back at school! 😮😂😂😂
I was old before my time. Before there were children in my life I was a huge fan of a September getaway!
@@HubNut I know me too really having no kids I always holidayed when they were at school. But now I’m the same age as “old folk” 🤣🤣🤣
This is the old Hubnut we all know and love ❤👍
Smiles all the way 😁
TWC - surely the ultimate happy car. Never fails to bring a smile.
It always makes me smile when TWC gets held up my modern cars!
After losing our dog this week, this has given me a lift! Happy TWC! 😊
Sorry for your loss. Never pleasant.
Massive smiles and the need for a change of underwear
Such a cool vehicle.
It's a Good Day when little old TWC is out still going not to bad for a 52 year old little old lady
helped out as much as you realised, getting parts, pffffft. putting a smile on your face.
You can't beat a good old TWC video! Smiles and giggles are guaranteed!
TWC always lifts my mood too! Such a great little car!
Yay TWC. Love this little motor.
Lovely little car
Yay! TWC - the sure antidote to the ‘because French’ blues!
Helps if I spell TWC correctly!
However many times I watch you driving the blue streak it always makes me laugh it’s great 😂, nice to see you at Hellingly Fest of Transport Ian 👍.
Always happy to see TWC in action - the Invacar series is where I discovered Hubnut!
lovely to see good old twc well done ian
Pride of the fleet, great to see the old girl out again 😊
Nice to see TWC out and about one of the most interesting aspects of NHS History. Replaced by motability scheme for those on high rate disability benefits which is an amazing service.
I guess the enthusiasm of one Ian from hubnut and the rarest of vehicles
Great to see twc out i hope you've decided to keep the gsa now you've slept on it such a nice car great video as usual ian cheers 🎉
I’ve said before, I’d be way way more excited than a man my age should be if I saw TWC in real life
Absolutely marvellous to see twc out for a spin. This has made my evening. Thankyou for all of your great content. Its all good times.
Ace video, always nice to see TWC.... cheers ian 🙂
Good to see twc out love her so.
Good ol' TWC. Loving the rattle of an air cooled twin. Very glad to hear you haven't beaten Giselle into a pulp too.
That little steyr engine in these is such a peach 👌👌 - always love a good TWC vid
Nice to see TWC out again and see speaking so passionately about her, defo a good mood type of car!
