വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ്മീറ്റർ ഗേജ് ആയിരുന്ന കാലത്ത് അതിൻറെ ലാസ്റ്റ് ട്രിപ്പിന് ഞാൻ ട്രെയിനിനു മുകളിൽ ഇരുന്ന് യാത്ര ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവസാന ദിവസത്തെ ട്രിപ്പിന് യാത്ര ചെയ്യാൻ ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ആളുകളായിരുന്നു അവിടെ എത്തിയിരുന്നത് .അകത്ത് സ്ഥലമില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ ബാക്കിയുള്ള ആളുകളെല്ലാം മുകളിൽ കയറി ഞാനും ആ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 13 കണ്ണറ പാലത്തിൻറെ മനോഹാരിത പറഞ്ഞറിയിക്കാൻ പറ്റാത്തതാണ് .ചെറിയ പുഴയും അതിനോട് ചേർന്ന് റോഡും അതിനു മുകളിലായി റെയിൽ പാതയും.....
ചെറുതും വലുതുമായ അനേകം പാലങ്ങളും നിരവധി തുരംഗങ്ങളും...കാടിനുള്ളിലൂടെ ചെങ്കോട്ട വരെ യാത്ര ചെയ്തത് ഒരിക്കലും മറക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല.

6-7 വർഷം അല്ല 12 വർഷം മുന്നേ ഞാൻ പത്തിൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് ആണ് മീറ്റർ ഗ്വേജ് അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഞാൻ ഉള്ളിൽ ഇരുന്നു യാത്ര ആസ്വദിച്ചു. യാത്ര അവസാനിക്കാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്ന വാർത്ത മനോരമ പത്രത്തിൽ വരുകയും അതിൻ്റെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം ജനപ്രവാഹം ഉണ്ടായി. കുറേ തല തിരിഞ്ഞവന്മാർ പുനലൂരിൽ നിന്ന് വണ്ടിയുടെ മുകളിൽ കയറി യാത്ര തുടങ്ങി, തെങ്കാശി സ്റ്റേഷൻ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവരെ ഒക്കെ rpf അടിച്ച് താഴെ ഇറക്കി. പിന്നെയും ഒരാഴ്ച യാത്ര തുടർന്നാണ് സർവീസ് അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചത്.

How happy they are while working! 2) From Punalur the train passes through Edamon, Urukunnu, Ottakkal where Pandavan Para is there, then Thenmala which is more important, Kazhuthurutti (or Kalthuruthi) where the 13-arched bridge was shot, etc. need a lot of details. Aryankaav temple, Palaruvi the famous tourist spot near Aryankaav, the different directions from Kalthuruthi to Ambanad, Achankovil, Mampazhathara, Rosemala, and the beautiful sights of tea-estates etc. should have been mentioned.
