  • Soke Inoue Yoshimi, Rika Usami's legendary master, explaining the importance of distributing the body weight onto the heels while standing. Indeed, shifting weight onto the forefoot results in the body leaning forwards, and consequently in loss of balance and lack of speed. In this video, Soke Inoue demonstrates this concept by performing the initial sections of the kata Chatanyara Kushanku and Bassai Dai.
