Russia had 133 Ka-52 helicopters before the war in Ukraine. There were at least 62 losses during the war so far. With a loss rate of around 50%,it isn't really dominating anything. The main problem is the lack of smart munitions that were supposed to make the Ka-52 significantly better than older Russian helicopters. This forces the Ka-52 to be within reach of Ukraine's anti-air too often. Combined with Russia's lack of air superiority, the Ka-52 and other Russian helicopters have been shot out of the skies far too much to be called dominant. The Ka-52 could be a dominant weapon, but the failure of Russian leadership at the strategic and political level has made it a death trap.
