I see so much potential when I look at the continent of Africa as a whole. The houses are very nice and I really like the African architecture. Please pardon some of the American comments on here, fore we tend to forget that Africa is AFRICA and not a new version of America. “Where’s all the trees, grass,sidewalks,shrubs,and streetlights” is what you will hear from us spoiled rotten Americans almost every time. America is very green in most places which is why you’ll hear concerns like that, so please don’t take offense,sister. It’s all love ❤️. Most of us African Americans envision ourselves coming to help build up the motherland so we all can witness her full beauty and potential as she thrives at the TOP and that’s our goal as African Americans. WE WANT TO IMPROVE AND ENHANCE EVERY ASPECT AND CONDITION that the motherland suffers from at this time because we want to make her #1 and we will do so, slowly but surely.

I agree with Shaahazadee Khaaliq, when I look at some of the compounds people have put in trees and landscaping. And given the ability to grow, even if I got seeds or starter plants I would landscape myself since I do that today as well for my own house. Not meant to be a derogatory remark on Africa, more from a homeowner's perspective..

These houses are so beautiful omg, when I’m ready to retire (still young so I have a long way to go) I’m going back home to Somalia and definitely want a house like this built back home. America is not a place I want to stay forever and retire and own a home

The icing on the cake would be wooden floors. They would be close to perfect, I like an open floor plan. But this is better than I imagined.
Wooden floor is not the African style, we usually build tiled floors and marbles.
@@angelozue7925 I am sure that is not the traditional style. It is either from the Arabs or the Europeans I think more earthy products world fit Africa's style better. The native trees would be a good source of inspiration.

@@drazzking22 That's what it looks like. Definitely highway robbery for the Gambia. Average cost of land in a prime location near the beach is about $9000 and much cheaper elsewhere The Gambia. Land in other parts will run from $2500 to about $5000. Average cost of building a two story house is about $20,000.00 give or take depending on who you have buidling it.

I absolutely love this house thank you very much properties like this is what brought me to Art Cathy's channel and I appreciate having a different outlet for beautiful houses as I don't agree with most of the things Art Cathy has to say about the Gambia. @@Haki713 Alocate lands for parks especially in the kombo area where there are none and, the lands allocated for construction should have some of its trees protected because not only us but other creatures need them too (Birds, Lizard etc). We destroy nature because we don't appreciate or understand how important it is.

Internet services...you can get a WiFi or use phone data. Its also not too far from the airport

Is this aimed at foreigners only? Are there monthly fees? The interiors are very compartmentalize but the rooftop is nice. Is something available that is more modern on the inside.

The Gambia is the official name of the country.
Sure there are more designs you might like. To get high speed internet, you can always connect WiFi in your house or use the local telecom data.

Land ownership isn't restricted. A non Gambian can buy and own a land on lease for 99years before renewing the lease.

I am assuming that labor is cheap and that land is plentiful does it makes sense to buy used properties in The Gambia or is buying new about the same price. In my area used home prices are driven up because of land shortages in the most desirable areas.
