I was in tears as I watched this excellent short film. Education is in crisis in almost all parts of the world and desperately many children are falling victim to pointless requirements. There are not enough and appropriate teachers to discover and support individual potential. Perhaps parents could give their children more care and love if they, the majority, were not struggling to make a living while others ( the exploiters) are swimming in money.
Academics are stressed over skills, out of misplaced notions of success. Parents are right to guide their kids into careers/jobs which will sustain them financially, as opposed to those which while they may be soul fulfilling have no reasonable prospects for providing sufficient income for a family. Yet, parents are not guided themselves, to see that academic course work is not the only path to such jobs. So, we have, like in our politics, two poles pulling our youth and their parents, neither of which for many is the healthiest path forward.
As the mother of a son who did take his life, I say love them, believe in them. Watch them to see changes. What you think can never happen in your family, happens. Life is never the same. Corey I miss you my beautiful son. ♥️
I am very sorry for your loss. May you use your very sad experience to show others parents what they must focus on in their dealings with their children. It is so easy to lose sight of what is most important. I wish you strength. ❤❤❤
He is in peace. He wants you to be liberated off the burden. Just tell "God my son is with you for he is well" Guide me too Father and make me free. Aum peace...
I'm a pre-med graduate. Honestly my entire college life was never fun to me. Why? Because it mentally drained me. Also it's not my line of what I'm good at and my parents chose this course for me. I have no choice but to obey them. I just counted the days till the end of graduation for it to be over. Good thing that there's my friends who makes my life fun but when I return home, I became sad again. My dreams and passion is opposite to what my parents want. I love art and anything related to creativity. Even if the piece I make is being done in a month, or year, I didn't complain because I simply love what I am doing. Now, I'm healing and heading towards my pursuing of my artist life!!! Academics is not the only way to succeed in life. Everyone has different talents, abilities, & hobbies. Don't chose the way for which you are not made for, it will lead you no where. And don't listen to toxic societies that brings you down. Just breathe in, breathe out, believe in yourself and never give up!!
I am sorry but you don't have to "Obey them" when it comes to your life selections. You are the one who is going to be stuck with a carrer you don't like. I work in IT. My co-worker finished med school to please her parents, and then went to work in IT security because she hated the medical profession. Don't waste your time. Pick something you are passionate about, else you will be misserable doing something you don't enjoy.
Very well thought you have. I am, too, suffering with same problem. I don't like academics. Parents are just forcing every children to get high score in exams, and the feeling we feel is very robotic and heart colding. We just do is to scream silently.
C + E = O The challenge and the effort are more important than the outcome (success or failure). Many successful people have only succeeded once, but failed many times. They found joy in the effort (pain, suffering, sacrifice). The obstacle is the goal.
I love the fact that the cinematography matches the mindset of the aspirant and what he is going through: "The simple joys of life that blends with the scenery when he outside, doing what he loves and forgetting his problem. The sudden dark setting that depicts his mental struggles at home." The constant show of ⏰ time running out, a mother's love and words of a father who puts his insecurity into his son rather than encouraging him is such a recurring theme for those who give competitive exams. This video is in itself is like a Pen to me that teaches us to expand in our abled field instead of following the queue and to go forward. Beautifully captured and created. . . (To my dear aspirants: do give your best but please remember that no exam is ever bigger than your mental well being and that there is plenty of room for improvements+success in the fields that one can fully understand or enjoy doing the most! Just be a good creator, observer, smart and hardworking enough.)
Beautifully produced Jonah. Our society need people who understand and support child psychology and potential not just in academics but also art, entertainment and sports like the magical pen in this short movie. Cheers and congratulations! Thank you!
I'm a student of 12th class and everyone knows that how much important a pen in the student life and not only in the student life but in our entire life. A pen is capable to change the whole future of a student as well as a new generations. I'm always grateful for this and today because of your art today I really realised it. We are strangers but your emotions may be same towards a thing and that's the amazing. I hope that you would like that message and be inspired to make new films like that. Super amazing.. Lots of respect Sir!❤
We're all good at something. It takes a lot of courage and strength to pursue your dreams. So many obstacles... Both real and imagined. Draw your sword, face the demons, And slay the dragons! There's nothing to fear but fear itself! 💪
Used in any manner, Pen is always mighter than sword. No person is a born loser, but society's distractions make him a failure. As said, woods are lovely dark and deep, the same way inumerable avenues are present beyond academics. Sky is the limit! Never discourage any person to move towards success. Well-made Short with equally deserved award.
awesome raising of awareness ... so much suicide comes from family/societal expectations. Encourage children's talents, let them blossom in their own time and way. We are all precious
My tears came out I thought the boy died. in that scene, I can cop with him I love the narration and the script is beautifully written. Hats off to this gem I genuinely appreciate your work. The last scene just makes me happy the director comes himself and gives the film a life❤️
Beautifully said buddy . Thanks 😊 But the mysterious guy at the end is my youngest brother , the actor from all the best 😄 . It’s okay people often get confused him with me 😁
I just want to tell everyone one thing. Be easy. Success is nothing but it just the something gives us excitement during our journey. Have fun, take it easy and enjoy every second of our life. And one more thing is that never try to give up if we fail at something for thr first time. Even myself, I have gone through such period too at several point of my life. I tried so many to escape from the problem without even thinking a second but later I found that if i had a chance to calm down myself and thought of it, i could have easily solve those problems. Just a few days back, I was about to give up my project just because i had no clue what am i doing. Then one of my teacher told me not to give up even if i could not make it, i still can say i did something. I felt good and start my project from the point where i left. So guys, have fun and take it easy. Just do what you really love. Enjoy it.
Such a wonderful work... Your work is so underrated you deserve much more success... And this short movie is well deserved for the award 👍👍👍 congratulations to all the cast and crew members of this master piece...

This is SO heart-rending!!! I have a beautiful son this age and it really pulled at my heart and made me cry seeing this guy's anguish. Parents STOP expecting the world and burdening them and weighing them down with pressure and expectations and cold hard negative comments that ring in their heads bringing them shame, how dare you. It should NEVER take your son nearly losing his life before you finally open your eyes, NEVER!! See them with your HEART not your flippin intellect for goodness sake. Let them blossom with zero pressure, it is NOT about you, it is about them finding worth and value and identity.

Very Heart touching!! Each one of us probably relates to this as we neared exams and carries the expectations of frail shoulders!! Very well written, directed and executed !!
This story is quite relatable with students and young people nowdays. I have also gone through this phase when you are trying but everything arounds you scares you to death. like while I'm driving i suddenly loose focus, while cutting fruits or veggies i don't know how knife goes too close to my wrist and many other things. eventually someone supported me alot, the person also don't know how much he helped me, but I'm really grateful for having them. I cried watching this because this is completely looking like my story quite a months ago. But one thing that is different and about no one talks is that there are some children who only knows about study. from their childhood the only thing they have done is to study. i myself a student who only knows about study and nothing else like I'm very poor in sports, singing, dancing, cooking, art, or any other activity. But when you start failing in the only thing you know, you don't know any other alternative. I was a topper till 10th but from 11th my grades fall drastically and the fear is not failing but what to do after failing because i don't know anything else. and this fear just makes your heart heavier and heavier.
@sunitachoudhary4685: Hoping desperately you'll come back to check responses to your message .... Some suggestions: horticulture, childcare, working with animals, caring for the elderly, needlework/sewing, apprenticeship in a trade (eg shoe making, watch repair) .... even working in a shop can bring satisfaction and contentment. You could also talk to a sympathetic teacher because it could well be that underlying anxiety is precipitating a sense of failure.
@@vivicohen199Thanks for the suggestion but you know that these things in india are not much considered and seen as failure. It is so sad when a soul decides to end this beautiful God given life.due to outward harsh circumstances .There have to be more compassion kindness and love so no one feels so pressurised May your brother who took this drastic step be in light and peace.🙏🌺
How can you console a parent or say kind words who has lost their child. Nothing is enough. As parents we only want the best for them and forget they are fragile and trying to navigate their own challenges. This short film shook me from within. I hope all of us as parents understand our children better and learn from this film.
Inspirational short movie ..... By the symbol of pen, people can understand many things ..... Failure is not end of life but it's beginning of success!!
❤ this is just so beautiful. A reminder that we live in a world that is slowly losing its humanity to all kinds of things and social pressure.. School is not the definition of success. Support is what defines success, especially from parents to their kids.
Superb video in every respect. Depicting the inner and external struggles young people face. Showing the result of his decision to keep on anyway is a masterpiece. Greetings from Scotland. 🎉🎉🎉
Very heartouching film. I am watching from Europe Italy. The most important thing is to support our kids in what they are strong, not looking what the neighbours daughter or son does Our children should love what they do in life. There is too much competition in the educational systems and the parents minds worldwide.
What an Awesome film. The message is heartbreaking yet necessary. As a mom of 3 young adults I’ve always encouraged not discouraged them to be who they are. And to pursue the careers that they are passionate about. Again, well done!👍🏽❤️🎬
Watched many times and still it brings tears in my eyes🥺... Thank you Jonah bhaiya for giving me the opportunity and believing in me that I'm capable for the role. It was a great experience working with you and the team... I'm overwhelmed 😳 Congratulations 🎉💥❤ WE NAILED IT 💪
It's a mistake to try to put everyone in the same box. Not everyone will fit in and some will feel broken and feel like they are a disappointment to those who had certain expectations of them. The only thing parents should expect of their children is for them to find the box they DO fit in and do their best in it. It's important to know that not all in the box will be the same and achieve the same level. True success is finding one's place in life and being content there. It never hurts to strive to become better at something, but it DOES hurt to think that if you don't become the best in your box that you're a failure. Good work on your film. Well written and acted.
SUCH A TOUCHING STORY,SO BEATIFULLY NARRADED AND EXECUTED. TO ALL THE PEOPLE OUT THERE:UNLEASH YOUR PASSION WITHOUT DOUBTING YOURSELF. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS THE PEN'THE DREAM'THE FURURE'THE HAPPINESS 💚💛🧡🌞

When we were younger, most of us experienced this kind of life, especially if you’re a love child, your parents meant they’re advising you the right way for your future life, the love and respect for them you’ve followed what they wanted you to be, the realization was too late enough to follow the path you wanted to be, you just go on and figured it out that you can please them with what they wanted you to be. The maturity will give you the chances to do what you love to do, it’s not too late, just think “life is full of surprises”. Beautiful story, thanks for sharing. God bless.
i just wanted to hug him. hes an artist which is automatically a success. hes already succeeded. whoever instilled in him that only school success will lead you there also designed the failure that is the american school system. Academics need a revolution. where arts music and health come first and foremost. an artist is the most successful person on earth. we would still live in caves without art. art is the wheel....
Great story, great message, great acting, great cinematography, great bgm. Everything is exceptional. Loved that blue bench in the beginning so picturesque.❤ congratulations to the whole team.
Nobody should give so much power to another lifebeing. If you let your self worth on the hand of someone else, you will never be able to give enough love to your own mind and spirit.
One of the best short films I have ever watched . To have such a deep emotional toll in me in just mere 15minutes really tells how good of a artist you are . Beautifully crafted . Thanks for making such good short films .
Tears rolling down as I type these: The message this movie wants to convey is sooo deep that People who really faced or went through such situations will find themselves crying buckets of tears. Lucky are those whose parents recognise the potential in their children letting them decide their future rather than giving lectures on how poorly their children have performed in the academic field. I really wish our education system to take a turn and give space for thé unique talents and skills. I wish every parents to see the potential of their children not only in academic fields but also in extra curricular activities. To all the people out there: Unleash your passion without doubting yourself. People might mock you for the grades you score but they would be wowed in future when they’ll see you shining💜 Never give up on your dreams ✨ Note: Suicide is not the only way out✨🫂
What a beautiful, necessary film. My love to all who contributed to making it as well as to all who will be painfully relate to it as part of their personal story. Many thanks! This earth life is designed with many challenges to bring us to our own hearts despite confusion and the lack of support of others. We are here because we are supposed to be....may we realize that and never forget it.
We fight this every single minute of our lives... Keeping him ticking every hour ... every minute is so so tasking... i don't know when I will give up... Life has become so bleak... hugs your way guys...all of you...out there...all of you tat suffer...that scream silently..... .. a mom...
Hm.. This shows the Truth of how Love is important and how lack of Love inside Family can ruin someone. Love each other, never become opposite. It was a pleasure to watch this. God bless You All.. 🙂❤️
That was great. I must put a lot more work into my videos. But more to the point, I must not pressure my children any more, they are already doing ok even if not exactly what we hoped for.
Hard truth as to how the world works 💔
Academics are stressed over skills, out of misplaced notions of success. Parents are right to guide their kids into careers/jobs which will sustain them financially, as opposed to those which while they may be soul fulfilling have no reasonable prospects for providing sufficient income for a family. Yet, parents are not guided themselves, to see that academic course work is not the only path to such jobs.
So, we have, like in our politics, two poles pulling our youth and their parents, neither of which for many is the healthiest path forward.
The heart is the true knowledge, from there we can all prosper ❤

Bhai ka yaad agya dekke.. Pura flashback chala gya kuch samai klye😊

Thank you 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤ such a heart touching story. A beautiful real struggle story
A truly magnificent film! ❤
How can you console a parent or say kind words who has lost their child. Nothing is enough. As parents we only want the best for them and forget they are fragile and trying to navigate their own challenges.
This short film shook me from within. I hope all of us as parents understand our children better and learn from this film.
No words, just too good... You guys did an amazing work... Keep it up!
Amazing. Powerful. Thank you for this film and its message.
Superb video in every respect. Depicting the inner and external struggles young people face. Showing the result of his decision to keep on anyway is a masterpiece.
Greetings from Scotland. 🎉🎉🎉
I am glad you that you liked my film , thank you 😊
Very heartouching film.
Thank you ☺️♥️

Best, I am speech less.🙏❤️
It's a mistake to try to put everyone in the same box. Not everyone will fit in and some will feel broken and feel like they are a disappointment to those who had certain expectations of them. The only thing parents should expect of their children is for them to find the box they DO fit in and do their best in it. It's important to know that not all in the box will be the same and achieve the same level. True success is finding one's place in life and being content there. It never hurts to strive to become better at something, but it DOES hurt to think that if you don't become the best in your box that you're a failure. Good work on your film. Well written and acted.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful film, beautiful message: do what makes your heart sing and life will join in the harmony. Thank you for making this so very clear! ♥♥♥
Beautiful film, very well made.
Thank you 😊
SUCH A TOUCHING STORY,SO BEATIFULLY NARRADED AND EXECUTED.

The theme and the team, just wow! Looking forward to more such good works.💌🌻
Thank you Api ❤️❤️
When we were younger, most of us experienced this kind of life, especially if you’re a love child, your parents meant they’re advising you the right way for your future life, the love and respect for them you’ve followed what they wanted you to be, the realization was too late enough to follow the path you wanted to be, you just go on and figured it out that you can please them with what they wanted you to be. The maturity will give you the chances to do what you love to do, it’s not too late, just think “life is full of surprises”. Beautiful story, thanks for sharing. God bless.
Wow❤, thank you so much that was beautiful
Thank you , I am glad you liked it 😊
I cried. I didn't think he'd survive. He did. I believe in MAGIC!
❤ Thank you for bringing this incredible story to RUclips. This was so beautifully made and such an important topic.
Wow!
Really well done!

Thank you 😊
i just wanted to hug him. hes an artist which is automatically a success. hes already succeeded. whoever instilled in him that only school success will lead you there also designed the failure that is the american school system. Academics need a revolution. where arts music and health come first and foremost. an artist is the most successful person on earth. we would still live in caves without art. art is the wheel....
an eye opener...a must see for all parents...
Great story, great message, great acting, great cinematography, great bgm. Everything is exceptional. Loved that blue bench in the beginning so picturesque.❤ congratulations to the whole team.
Thank you Caro , your words means a lot to the whole team ❤
❤❤❤❤
I wish I could hug all the people who get bullied and feel like they are a clown and not worth it. - me to me this was intense emotional.
Nobody should give so much power to another lifebeing. If you let your self worth on the hand of someone else, you will never be able to give enough love to your own mind and spirit.
It is parents’ job to teach their kids that life success comes in many forms and by million ways.
Very true 😊
One of the best short films I have ever watched . To have such a deep emotional toll in me in just mere 15minutes really tells how good of a artist you are . Beautifully crafted . Thanks for making such good short films .
we should believe in magic... very nice this short movie
People might mock you for the grades you score but they would be wowed in future when they’ll see you shining💜
Never give up on your dreams ✨
Note: Suicide is not the only way out✨🫂

What a beautiful, necessary film. My love to all who contributed to making it as well as to all who will be painfully relate to it as part of their personal story. Many thanks! This earth life is designed with many challenges to bring us to our own hearts despite confusion and the lack of support of others. We are here because we are supposed to be....may we realize that and never forget it.
We fight this every single minute of our lives...
Keeping him ticking every hour ... every minute is so so tasking...
i don't know when I will give up...
Life has become so bleak...
hugs your way guys...all of you...out there...all of you tat suffer...that scream silently.....
..

Hm..
This shows the Truth of how Love is important and how lack of Love inside Family can ruin someone. Love each other, never become opposite. It was a pleasure to watch this. God bless You All.. 🙂❤️
Beautifully written and I am glad you liked it ❤️
Excellent story. Very moving and it is very true

That was great. I must put a lot more work into my videos. But more to the point, I must not pressure my children any more, they are already doing ok even if not exactly what we hoped for.
