    Thank you for demonstrating the delay of pushing notifications. I am also wondering how much the delay, if any, for starting the recording once a motion is detected.

    man you were so close to actually show how the 2 way talk works, but you stopped after pressing the button. Ive been searching for a video that shows an example of the popup on the app to show how to accept a ring. Nobody films it, all reviewers skip over it, but in my opinion is just as important as the whole recording.

    No subscription fees sounds great until your camera malfunctions after a year and Eufy customer support refuses to do anything about it. That’s exactly what happened to me and several others that have written similar reviews. Out the money and camera. Really wish Eufy/Anker would help their customers out instead of leaving them out to dry. Be wary when looking to purchase one of these cameras!

    Euft sent me a link to your video as their version of actual tech support. I have a different version of their doorbell and their setup instructions are completely different: set up the chime, then set up the doorbell (which then asks you to set up the chime again). Their tech support is terrible. It's been five days over email and two online chat sessions and there is still no solution offered, except watch your video about a different product.

  • @oldkid6

    I've had one of these for over a year and it's great, and I use mine with battery power only. Eufy has the best line of cameras on the market, I don't know why Arlo and Nest get so much hype by comparison.

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  2 года назад +1

      I love mine, also I love that they also have cameras, locks, alarm systems etc that all work together. Someone Arlo and Nest don’t have.

      @@DoItYourselfDad You got that right. I feel like most tech reviewers are on the take with Arlo and Nest because I rarely ever hear anyone talk about any Eufy products. Eufy never even makes any top 10 lists.

    which specific model did you use? i'm trying to see which of eufy's model will actually ring the mechanical chime. i have been emailing support for 2 weeks now and they are still giving me confusing information. they say NONE of the wired 2k cameras will ring the mechanical chime, only their homebase/wifi chime and if i do want to use the mechanical chime i need the BATTERY 2k. can you comment about this?

    My apartment came with a eufy video doorbell that set up and worked just fine when I moved in. But, once I had upgraded and changed my wifi, it now won't connect without having a home base or wifif chime. Is that normal? I didn't need one to set it up the first time.

    If there is a power outage, does it continue to record since it has a battery? Assuming the home base and wifi will also be out during a power outage, will the camera record and then upload the video to home base once power is restored??
    Also if there is backup power to the homebase and wifi, but we have a power outage (aka doorbell will be working off the battery), i assume it will continue to work as normal?
    Thank you!! Great video!!

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  Год назад +1

      If the power goes out you would still need power to the home base. I have my Homebase powered with a USP for that reason. It will continue to record even if your Wi-Fi goes down though.

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  2 года назад

      This is the battery version, it can be wired up to the doorbell wiring and your existing chime will still work. If you use the non-battery version you have to run a jumper in the chime which bypasses it and disables the chime.

      5ghz is faster but lacks range and penetration which is why a lot of these devices don’t use it or are dual band.

    Hello, I am currently testing a video doorbell, but will probably return it due to latency issues. It’s too slow. However, it’s head to toe view is great and I can see top to bottom when the person is at the door. I can see packages left right at the door. I’m leaning towards this Eufy and want to know about it’s views. How much can you see of the person at the door?

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  2 года назад

      If you really wanna wide view, wait a few weeks. Eufy’s is coming out with a new doorbell with two cameras on it which gives it in extremely wide view. I should actually have it on the channel in a few weeks as well.

    • @ednahartranft5710
      @ednahartranft5710 2 года назад

    • @DoItYourselfDad

      It looks like it does, they made them to show the doorstep (so it could see packages) and also see high enough to ID people. I should have mine setup soon so I’ll let you know.

    Very helpful video. Do you have any recommendations regarding height placement with the eufy? I kinda felt yours was placed a little on the low side, but maybe that's the idea: to capture everything on your porch, etc. Very new to this stuff, so pardon my ignorance.

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  Год назад +1

      It really depends on your application. If you place them too high, you get the tops of heads and not faces, too low and you risk them getting tampered with. Ideally I’d want them just out of reach, but at an angle that you’d be able to make out someone’s face. Sometimes, like my front door, that isn’t possible. The one over my driveway is around 10ft off the ground and that seems to be about the highest Id want it.
