@@hqund7816 Actually you do need two hands for full control. Even in this video, when he goes into the slide, he uses both hands to steer into the direction of the slide. Just watch it in slow motion if you did not catch that. With one hand, your range of motion you can access quickly is limited. So it’s good practice to have both hands on the wheel at high speeds like this.
It's not the rain that is the problem in this situation(well technically it is too) but it's not the reason the car got pushed to the side. As he was passing the truck, the truck blocked the wind that came from the right side for a second and as soon as he passed the truck the wind hit him hard which caused the car being pushed to the left. Same effect can happen the other way around. If the wind is hitting your car constantly and you enter the wind shadow of a truck your car can be pulled into the truck. The faster you are the stronger the effect. So remember if it's heavily windy outside and you have to drive, be careful when passing trucks. Not to mention that it's never a good idea to drive that fast, but I guess no one wants to hear that.
@@SD-uw4mq I know it's not perfectly explained there, because its actually an advertisment video, but at least it shows that this effect exists, sorry that i cant find a better one.
Well, it's also dependent on the wheels and the type of profile they have If they have several deep lanes going vertical, the tires will have a better grip in rain, because the water can easily be pushed away through them. If you got no profile on them you got a better grip on the dry road but not in rain. When the tire hits the wet road, water has to be able to escape, otherwise it will stay between the rubber and the road and then you are kind of swimming on a water surface what makes the handling of the car very difficult because you can't steer the car in any direction properly or even brake down
the issue is not only the wet surface, the driver came out of the slipstream of the lorry and the driver didnt countersteer the aprupt wind coming from the right. thus, the car swerved to the left and the driver overcompensated when countersteering and therefore lost traction. very common but dangerous cause for crashes
Being a guy that can't stand when women freak out and scream, that's exactly what I thought... She kept so quiet and calm, instantly wife material! LOL

I dont know where this was captured, but in germany i always drive about 120-130 km/h on the autobahn when it starts to rain like how it looks in the video (still good vision). I´m not driving much faster than others. Some people still drive their 200km/h in that condition.
100 kph is only 62 mph. 140 kph is 85 mph. Fast...but not excessively fast. I have a 2 door ram 1500 4wd. It has a 4wd auto setting i use in the rain. I can pretty much drive normal speed in the rain and it's as stable as it is when its dry. Of course braking distances are increased. And you wouldn't want to do this in the snow or ice...
yes he May have been speeding but its clear he aquaplaned. Losing control of that car clearly was not his fault, the slightest adjustment in heavy rain caused the car to do that.
@@toxic_pint4266 Yes, but if you get into an accident and you are over the recommended speed of 130km/h you could be held liable, even if you are not at fault. We can take a punch or getting hit by a car way better than a girl can. It doesn't mean they're any less, just different.
Notice also how he continuously over corrected while one handing it like a douche. Soon as he put two hands on the wheel he stopped over correcting. That should tell you something right there
ULTRA R12 yeah no fucking shit. He hits the shifter or “gear selector” for better term downwards putting it probably from D into 3 or if it’s a Tiptronic then he just downshifted mid chaos. Never said it was manual. Work on your observation and comprehension skills. If it was manual you would never be able to do that by accident, you could hit it into neutral maybe but never from one gear to the next.
Lesson learned : 4WD/AWD can prevent loss of traction, doesn't prevent loss of grip. ESP is to credit for most of this recovery. I have to admit, good countersteering action, you did not overdo it in panic, kudos to you. In the Nordics the third brand is Volvo (the new models). I get it when it comes to speeding, more sport oriented cars feel and are a lot more stable at 160 km/h than a cheap 1.2L is at 100 km/h, that gives the driver lots of confidence to drive faster. However when it comes to agressive lane changes, pushing yourself infront of people and worst of all tailgating, those people could need getting their teeth knocked out.

Thats 54 distances of difference. 54 is a lot, thats more than half of a hundred, that means it's not exactly half, but 4 more than a half. 4 means that 2 was multiplied by another 2 long time ago, so two 2's were sacrified for one 4 wich is unfair I would say. Girlfriend. Calling her a partner just sounds stupid
AWD sucks. More weight, more things that can break, more money.
I think ur theory might be wrong
@@SD-uw4mq I know it's not perfectly explained there, because its actually an advertisment video, but at least it shows that this effect exists, sorry that i cant find a better one.
Well, it's also dependent on the wheels and the type of profile they have If they have several deep lanes going vertical, the tires will have a better grip in rain, because the water can easily be pushed away through them. If you got no profile on them you got a better grip on the dry road but not in rain. When the tire hits the wet road, water has to be able to escape, otherwise it will stay between the rubber and the road and then you are kind of swimming on a water surface what makes the handling of the car very difficult because you can't steer the car in any direction properly or even brake down
@@maximilianziegler7916 True, but if you drive a car like that you'll most likely have good profiles hahaha.

@@illlanoize23 Brought me back to high school with this comment. Even some whimpy guys would let out a squeel if the power went out. People must think they are always in a horror movie lol.

I feel that comment
thats a couple...
1.Coffee cups are both in the right place
2. He is driving while she is checking the map
3. When shit goes sideways she grabs his hand to calm/support him.
4. She doesn't scream, niether he starts laughing it out like a jerk
5. He turns the hazard lights on
Props to both of them, Hope you are still together to this date.
0:09 she checks the map and zooms-in to a slight right bend... *almost like foreshadowing..*
(I dont know if this slight right bend + rain combo is the culprit)
"Thats a great couple right there"
what do you mean by coffee cups in the right place?
Grabbing his arm was not to calm him. It was a fear reaction that almost .ade the situation worse
@@hazyy47 means this dudr has fantasy problems
That woman holding his man hands while he's loosing control was a boost to this man's driving prowess T_T
In Arab they just start doing drifting like that in 200kph+

Arab is not a country and Turks are not Arabs.
I am an arab and I drive my dad's car at age 16 and without license

@@earlwolf9414 no it's all real
That's why you shouldn't play music when driving. It makes your car want to dance to it.

(ESP) electronic stability program: Am I a joke to you?
there is a reason i allways turn it off, if i fuck up i deserved it
@@DumbHusky 🤣
first thing i do when starting my car is disable that crap
ESP wasn't going to assist them in that scenario.
If the car has a good chassis and suspension you don't need ESP.
But sadly, this is an Audi and it has none of those things :P
She remained calm throughout all of that, she's a keeper 😘
She just held his hand; this is beautiful.
good, clean family fun
It isn't... In fact that was actually dangerous
86 mph in rainy conditions in a car wearing sunglasses with one hand on the wheel and the other on the automatic shifter (for some reason). What could go wrong?
lol
What’s wrong with the sunglasses? There’s often a lot of glare on overcast days.
Always gotta be fronting with the chicks man! He's mister cool!
Smullet90 that’s what Audi And BMW drivers do
It's not 86 mph, it's 140 km/h. That means he would travel 140 kilometers in onr hour. 86 mph means he would travel 86 miles in one hour. Thats 54 distances of difference. 54 is a lot, thats more than half of a hundred, that means it's not exactly half, but 4 more than a half. 4 means that 2 was multiplied by another 2 long time ago, so two 2's were sacrified for one 4 wich is unfair I would say. And this is happening every day, people killing 2's left and right, just so they can have one 4. We need to do something or soon we will run out of 2's completely, and trust me, you don't want that to happen.
Some people say there is an easy sollution, just add one 1 to another 1. But eventually we would run out of 1's and what then you ask? Well, it would start a chain reaction leading to destruction of all numbers. If there are no numbers, there are no us, no universe, everything just cease to exist and all the progress all the beautiful, amazing things we have done untill this point are lost to nothingness. Save the 2's people, please.
Driver: oh shit I lost control
ESP: Hold my beer
Jahahahha
Hold my oil 🛢
doesnt work in that situation
@@Spandex08 what esp?
@@freund_hein y
Why rest hand on automatic shifter? Doubt that thing was being used for manual mode shifting at highway speed anyway, most likely just using drive? Stil held on to it for a long time into losing control until he got his shit together.
