I agree that they did an incredible job with that scene. The story is discussed often by Christians-especially women. Their take was super believable. We forget sometimes that there are more context and details than the Biblical writers have time or space to give us.

In fact there were three different mentions of a Gaius in the New Testament. There is no guarantee he is one of those, but there is no reason why it couldn't be.. I think the point is....there is more than one Gaius who converted and followed Christ. Who knows what future projects could be for Dallas and or Kirk.

I loved all of the moments with Gaius. As hard as it was to watch Thomas grieving, I appreciated two moments where he went to Jesus and was held and when he was walking along Rayma’s body and was staring at the back of Jesus…Jesus turned and looked at him and it was like he said just keep following me.

I love your channel! You guys do such a great job! Gaius comforting Jesus completely tore me apart. I have no problems with the extra Biblical stuff. The Chosen has done a great job of being plausible. Thank you for always sharing your insight and your reactions and your perspective. I feel I've learned more about the Messianic worldview from you guys. Thank you for helping me grow in my understanding of the word. I even downloaded a "Tree of Life" translation of the Bible! Thank you guys for sharing about Jesus in such a unique way! ^_^
    Question?...
Isn't Gaius the name of one of the only men Paul baptizes in 1 Corinthians 1:14? "I thank God I only baptized Crispus and Gaius."
Doesn't Paul travel with a man named Gaius in Acts 19?
In Romans 16:23 (ESV) Paul tosses in a greeting from Gaius who is mentioned as "being host to the whole church" (this could be alluding to the fact that he was a man with stature enough to have a house big enough to host a whole church)
In 3 John 1:1 (ESV) Gaius is mentioned as being beloved and trusted.
I'm not saying all of these "Gaius's" are the same person, but it could be that The Chosen is doing what they have been doing for the whole series and mashing people together. Gaius could eventually become one of these people. 🤷🏾‍♀

One of my favorite parts was in Episode 6, when Jesus and the group get news about the death of Lazarus. Jesus decides to go back to Bethany, but the Apostles are reluctant, all except for Thomas. I can't remember the line from the show verbatim, but in John 11:16, he says, "Let us go also, that we may die with him." I am so glad they included this line! That line in the gospel is so powerful for me. Even though Thomas has no idea what he's talking about, and he obviously doesn't understand Jesus' message about raising Lazarus, he is still willing to die for Christ. Plus, the death of Ramah and his grief gave that line a bit of sarcasm and bite, which makes things more dramatic. It's the little things like that which make the Chosen stand out to me.

I'm a Seventh-Day Adventist, and so you know we keep Sabbath/Shabbot. Most of my fellow Adventists are not as versed in Jewish culture, but then I grew up in North Miami among a lot of Jewish people, so I'm more inclined to keep Hanukkah instead of Christmas, or Passover instead of Easter. I really enjoy your program, and how you teach with lighthearted banter that helps in some ways to remember what is said around that. I didn't mind hearing about the spoilers because after watching the third episode, I was so stunned and felt so upset, I could not watch it the second time and turned in my ticket and went home. I decided I'm not going back until I know what I'm getting into. I expect the intensity of moving closer to the time of the cross, and I know that the next seasons will be violent, but I didn't expect to see this level of loose freedom of interpretation of Scriptures and the character of Christ. Also, I hope they will clarify that JESUS IS THE ROCK, and not Peter (Petros---"stone;" Cephas, "a loose stone"--unstable character, a flaw in one's character. Same as Boanerges--James and John,) Not a promotion or elevation over the others--just a reminder of his weaknesses. Because guess what---after he's called Peter, he's just a few verses away from being called Satan.

There's no theatrical release whatsoever in my country, so I'm just (im)patiently waiting for the episodes to start streaming... In the meantime, I have to hold off watching your reaction videos to avoid spoilers 🙈🙈🙈(unlike in previous seasons where I would *immediately* click on your reaction vids as soon as you posted them). #Soon

I loved what they did with Gauis. I loved the olive press scene (especially because it reminded me of a teaching the pastor who led the tour of Israel I went on in 2022 comparing the process of making olive oil with Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane and the crucifixion) and I love your interpretation (another RUclipsr I follow had pretty much the same interpretation). I wondered if you guys were going to mention the story about why there's eight days of Hanukkah. Every time the Messianic Jewish Congregation I go to celebrate Hanukkah the fact that story might not be true is mentioned.

I absolutely loved how they depicted the walk the mile Roman scene. It was my favorite so far this season. So well done. The impact on the soldiers view was so thought provoking. I noticed how the head Roman removed the hat from Jesus. Wow.

Episode 4 was my favorite. Especially the ending! The symbolism and the embrace between Jesus and Gaius...😭
So looking forward to your in depth reactions when the episodes release on the app.
Oh, I was on set in the background with the whole stoning scene. It was so much fun to be part of that!

You’re absolutely right that we will all be one family in the end. But there is evidence that after Jesus‘ resurrection, he visited people on the American continent, and he also visited people in Russia. He could’ve visited other sheep in other places, but we only have evidences of those two, so far.

    8:00
    My favorite modern-day preacher
    (Isaiah Saldivar)
    said it perfectly :
    “The Chosen is NOT !!!
    AUDIO. BIBLE.
    Yes, The Bible says :
    ‘Don’t add or take away
    from The Bible’ …
    IF. YOU. CLAIM :
    ‘This is The Bible’
    but they’re NOT !!!
    claiming to be
    ‘THE BIBLE’
    They literally open
    The Very First EPISODE !!!…
    of
    The Very First SEASON !!!!
    by saying :
This is not 100% a depiction of Scripture.
    This is INSPIRED BY Scripture.
Events and words are added to fill in the gaps.
    But nothing will ever go
    AGAINST
    the Harmony of Scripture.“
I pray Christians would understand this.
I’ve seen so many Christians hate on The Chosen…
    and that baffles my mind…
    Because…
    THAT SHOW…
    has brought
    Sooooooooo
    Manyyyyyyyy
    people TO CHRIST !!!!

Also, read 3rd John as well. It is a letter to a friend named Gaius. It could be plausible that the “Gaius” character on “The Chosen” is based off of this actual person that John the Apostle wrote to.

The “box cart” of rocks could easily have been from some construction going on in the area. After all, there are a lot of rocks in that area of Jerusalem and there are a lot of earthquakes in Israel.

In the Catholic bible, the Books Of Maccabees describes Hannukah, so for those who want to kniw why Jesus describes Himself as the Light of ghe world during the Feast of Lights, which is Hannukah, I suggest you pick up a Catholic bible or read the account online, because that is a foreshadow of the antichrist in the Book of Revelation, of the Greek ruler Antiochus who descrated the Temple by sacrificing a pig which is described as the abomination of desolation. In the book of Revelation, the antichrist will also desexrate the temple and before some act that will be described as an abomination of desolation and will proclaim himself as god. Please study up on this, the Book of Maccabees is such an important book.

25:43 the story of Hanukkah is absolutely in the Bible, First and Second Books of Maccabees. It’s not in your bibles because these books were removed by reformationists in order to confirm scriptures to their ideas of what God should be, not who He really is.

@grafted he doesn’t miss… he cut off his ear to disqualify him from Temple service according to Torah. Anyone with a disfigurement like this is not allowed to serve. Yeshua giving the ear back is allowing him to not have his calling stolen because of a moment of rage. 😊
