I don't totally agree but you have a point. Dawson's immaturity and controlling behaviour could DEFINITELY have escalated into more if Joey didn't leave with Pacey. I would like to think he grew up to be like Pacey and it seemed like it in season 4 moving forward

They had no mystery or need for passion because they we're so close they "knew" everything about each other! So she ran and never stopped!

dawson NEVER want pacey to get jeaous, he never tried anythign to make pacey jealous, pacey was just a child that refused to grow up. and pacey was acting worse then dawson, why dawson was 100 percent and makeing her choice, he said his in a moment of anger. pacey plan his and said he leaveing the state that far worse. and dawson told her to go, and grow up in season 4, pacey was still a jealous child.
