It’s funny how when I first started watching this channel a year ago, I immediately watched all of the super yacht videos, and didn’t pay much attention to the smaller boats. Now, a year later, I have developed a huge appreciation for these smaller boats, with their unique configurations and creative uses of space.

Outboard engines - hmmm. Once all the clobber from inboard (onboard) engines have been removed thanks to the outboard motors, one gets something amazing on a boat - MORE ROOM. But rather than just put loads of GRP spaces below, real design has gone into the below deck, new found "voids". Three staterooms and a spacious head with separate shower area to start. And loads of added storage. Roomy inside and easy to get around in, this is a proper extended cruising boat. Nice. Thanks again, Nick for bringing us a broader view of under 40' boats.

The helicopter made me actually laugh out loud, I do enjoy your random silliness! Lovely practical boat, not sure about that starboard cabin though, I'd wake up thinking I was a carrot in somebody's lunchbox. Lots of accommodation for this size of boat though, and a nice open cockpit on a single level with HUGE windows. Cracking video again, as always, thanks Nick!

I've never been a big fan of outboard motors. I always felt like they made a boat look less...finished, I guess. But there are two huge advantages to them. 1) cost: it's amazing what this boat offers for this price, especially when compared to one with inboard motors; and 2) maintenance and upgradability: something wrong with the motor? Remove it and fix it or replace it. Good luck doing that with a Penta 360. This tour was an eye opener for me - thank you!

Great little weekender cruiser! I would have it as a 2 cabin layout if that is an option. It's too small a boat for the 3rd but if you've got 3-4 kids or a couple of couples, you'll be crowded but functional. More and more, I'm attracted to the space savings you get with outboards and you don't seem to sacrifice performance. Gotta get past the prejudice that inboard engines make it a real boat! Space onboard for a 7.5kW generator...you know I need my 220V offshore! Wonderful, affordable and practical "bit of kit"!

I had to laugh when the helicopter showed up and you commented about it. When I was in college, my PolySci prof was fond of teaching class in the gazebo next to the class building. One day a big Pennsylvania National Guard Chinook helicopter flew by and in mid sentence talking about the US Constitution could be amended he shifted to talking about the Chinook and what it was like to fly in one. Memories.

Personally I'd hate to sleep in cabin 3, it's not for even the mildest claustrophobic, but you are getting 3 doubles for your cash. With the void in the rear of the boat, youd think you could reconfigure a bit to gain that headroom somehow.

Seems like if you take the big chunky engines out, and replace them with simple , easy to service engines you can save quite some amount on a three cabin boat. Noticed that you do loose on the bathing platform but there can be design to cater to that problem.

Nick - we have the Beneteau version of this boat, the Antares. You should do an overview of that line - they are great boats! We love it here in southwest Florida. Just ran down to the Keys on it for a week!

How about a tour on the smaller but very popular Merry Fisher 695 and 795 ?

Nice boat, there were one or two features like the fire extinguisher in the main cabin that I didn't like, but it's a fine design overall.

Not a great fan of outboard but they really boost the internal space.

Love the content. Are there more sailing boats coming? It has really surprised me that I prefer them.

Hi Nick, Have you got a Sealine F530 lined up any time soon. There is a motor boat and yachting one but it was first off the line and had faults that needed fixing. Also motor boat do not poke about like you do.

Great tour as always Nick 👍
Personally I’d give this one a miss, preferring a Beneteau Swift Trawler of similar size but am sure this will appeal to a lot of people, it’s very good.

I love this style of boat - the 895 or Beneteau Antares 9 would be a better cost / size ratio for me. But my biggest gripe is I don’t want petrol outboards - and the videos I’ve seen on ownership show on the 895 you’re going to be getting a real life burn of 55 to 75 litres an hour for the 20 to 30 knots range. Marina petrol prices (assuming you can find petrol) mean that that consumption rate will be v expensive…..I don’t mind losing a big locker under the cockpit for inboard diesels - and the greater capex of diesels is easier to accommodate than a large increase in fuel operating costs (higher price of petrol X lower efficiency)…….a great video Nick btw!

Outboard motors, Hmmmm, I'd be worried about having them nicked, good storage though.
    Excellent tour, thank you. 👍👍👍🚢🛥☠⛴🛳🏴‍☠️🚤⛵⚓😎

I wish I had your magic fingers! If I had a dollar for every time a retake was needed due to noise interference while taping I’d have enough to buy every boat you video!
