    What I like about this channel is that reviews small boats and it provides me the name of the boat to see a review from some qualified channels.

    The safety also know as safety shut off is a must. More so if you are alone on board. It will become a habit if you use it enough. On the other hand if you fall overboard and the boat is in gear you're in trouble. Always use the safety devices. Experience has taught me this.

    Very thorough, once again, Dan. It's actually quite marvelous how the Beneteau Group have expanded and shrunk their basic cabin class family boat from the 695 to this 1095 with each model offering clever, utilitarian features. Don't know about Oz, but the supply of these into the States really struggles to keep up with demand. Very popular, and for good reason.

      Hi Jack, yes this style of boat has absolutely taken over large sectors of the family boating market and still has more room to grow in my opinion. They have been very clever with space utilization and offering as many features as possible in each package. I enjoy discovering all the clever ideas Beneteau Groups continually comes up with.

    Thanks Will and Dan, another great walk-thru. I'm glad you agree with me on the use of having a door next to the helm. I can't stand wheelhouse boats with only the rear doors for access, a right royal pain in the asp.

      Cheers Doan! I am actually planning to bring some sail boats to the channel as I am a sailor too. I will film the 895 Jeanneau soon which is smaller but at the moment i'm just flooded with big boat filming requests so until I can grow the channel and put a crew together I may not have capacity to expand into the little boats just yet.

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  Год назад +1

      Actually to be fair I think Sea Ray build quality would be a tad better but the price will also be more $$. In terms of amazing space utilization, good ideas and suitability for the family market I think the 1095 is one of the best boats in this class.

    Hello Will and Dan, Thank you for this wonderful boat tour. I’m a owner of Antares 9 and thinking about and upgrade :) Would you recommend Antares 11 or Merry Fisher 1095? Also you installed a gyro to Merry fisher 1095, are you happy with it? Does it really make a difference? Lastly, is it possible to install it (with generator) to Antares 11 as well? Sorry for shooting questions at you :) but no one else knows about gyros and lots of info about these boats in Turkey :) THANK YOU!!

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  Год назад

      G'day Deniz, I've only tested the Antares 9 and not the 11 so I can't give you an accurate opinion. It really depends on the style of boating and your requirements as to what boat is the better recommendation to own. I feel that 1095 was definately a better all rounder and nicer in the ocean compared to the Antares 9 however as I've not tested the Antares 11 it would not be fair to pass comment on it's handling until i've tested myself.
      Re the gyro they installed a Quick gyro in a 1095 in Queensland so I have not tested this myself as I am in NSW. However I have tested the Quick on many other boats and from a comfort perspective if you are having lunch in an exposed anchorage or if you like to drift while out at sea then yes it will absolutely make your experience more enjoyable. Regarding installing it on the Antares 11 with genset I don't know the answer.

    I have the world cat 280 DCX which is an absolute tank in 4-5’ chop and only drafts 18” but I want to size up with a cabin or 2 and the battle in my head is this 1095/fly and the Axopar Xcross cabin. Both boats have me slightly on edge with quality. On paper the 1095 wins the usable space game while the Axopar seems more sea worthy and gets you there faster. Input?

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  Год назад +3

      Yes the Axopar/Jeanneau is built to mass production boat quality but that's why they are generally cheaper. Also factor in that with mass production boats you have a very saleable boat when it comes time to sell and move into the next boat. I know Axopar very well having sold them for 5+ years and done around 500hrs on the 28 & 37. The Axopar kills it in terms of offshore handling and performance but the Jeanneau kills it in terms of liveability and space. If you want to stay on the boat at your destination then buy the Jeanneau. If you want to enjoy the ride and stay ashore then the Axopar is possibly the better bet. Plenty more variables than that but this is just my two cents.

    I owned a merry fisher, it’s an ok boat but it dose rattle a lot and quality finish doesn’t really hold up in hot climates and saltwater

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  5 месяцев назад

      Yes it’s a boat to keep for 2yrs and then sell because they are easy to sell and hold up on value pretty well. The gelcoat does not last long in tropical climates without regular attention. Same for many European boats to be fair

      @@baseballdadq8The Gen Set from factory came in a transverse position at the fore of the lazarette . The Seakeeper now takes this spot The Gen set was moved to a port side longitudinal lie towards the stern, where the motor batteries were. It’s tight, but this keeps access to the fuel tank filters, as well as the panel access at the area lying astern of the lazarette . The Gen set fuel tank now resides here. But, FYI I’ve also replaced all the batteries with Lithium. This has freed up space in the lazarette for the Gen Set. The space for the house batteries is now used for the house AND starter batteries (lithium). So it’s not plug and play. 🥲
