- Inverness Caledonian Thistle became the 25th side to etch their name onto the William Hill Scottish Cup trophy with a 2-1 win over Falkirk at Hampden Park.
Goals from Marley Watkins and James Vincent were enough to seal the club’s first ever domestic trophy in a tense but entertaining Scottish Cup Final.
Caley Thistle went down to 10 men late on and were pushed all the way by a spirited Falkirk side who scored through Peter Grant on 80 minutes.
I feel so bad for Jamie McDonald, what an underrated keeper he is and now people will just remember him for that spill
Wasn't his fault
GarrowhillWoods I watched the goal ten times, very very unfortunate!!! Jamie should/could have kept it out but just couldn't. I wouldn't blame him....one of "those" balls.....
as a hibee i agree he is a very underrated keeper always liked him obviously not when he was at hearts but hes a great keeper
Jamie Macdonald has already experienced a Scottish Cup win anyways, 5-1 against hibs in 2012
I'm pretty sure he will be remembered as the keeper in the historic Scottish Cup final where hearts demolished rivals hibs 5-1 tbh....
One of my favourite scottish cup final of this decade
Hard luck Falkirk, don't worry. . Keep playing like the second half and you will be back in the premiership and more finals soon!
From a Caley fan.
GordonMun hahahahahahahahahahah both in the championship now😂😂😂😂😂
Sean ME At least our team has titles
Uruguai Ball ohhh the championshippp!!!!!
Sean ME What is your team?
Uruguai Ball super killie
As a caley fan, best moment of my life however, Inverness second half didn't show up and Falkirk played very well, after that cup run they do deserve to at least make the play off final, really liking the look of this Falkirk team, all the best next season
Cheers, hope you get a wee run in the Europa league
I remember it was amazing
Such a great day! So relieved that Inverness won as Falkirk were definitely the better side in the second half! Well done Falkirk and we hope to see you in the premiership soon!
From an Inverness Fan
see you in the championship you mean! LOL
Calum MacDonald if your an Inverness fan then why do you have a photo of Celtic park
Little Aaron mac he probs just supports what ever teams winning at the time
You're an Inverness CT fan? That doesn't look like the CT Stadium in on your profile pic
Brilliant game and atmosphere. Shame the better team only came away with a runners up medal. Heads up though. Next season to look forward to. COYB 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️👌
congratulations ICT, commiserations Falkirk, and weldone everybody, I was expecting a final with about 5000 fans each, great turnout by both sets of fans.
from a Motherwell fan
39000 for two provincial clubs is an amazing turnout. Falkirk are notoriously bad for breaking hearts but that's what its all about. still a great day out.
One of the best days of my life! nothing will ever take that moment away
A better watch than the Arsenal v Villa game.
More exciting.
Though clearly nowhere near the same quality.
Both teams could take Arsenal any day 😂😂😂
I was at this game when I was 7 years old. I honestly wasn’t really paying attention at the game. Watching that first goal made me cry and realise what’s terrible day that I was. All I remember was my dads friend chucking me in the air when Falkirk scored and I was balling my eyes out at the end 😭 now I’m 11
get off youtube?
Every time I watch this it hurts
Dylan Fleming ye 😕🙁
You have 2 Scottish cups, Inverness never had one before this match.
Why don't they show the Inverness display at the start? just the shitty Falkirk display lol
Saddest game I ever watched
Well done to both teams, from a Jags fan.
Tough luck Falkirk but I love that Falkirk jacket the manager and coaches wear
Why is there an England flag in the Falkirk end?
These highlights are very poor. They completely miss the build-up to Cally's brilliantly counter-attacking opening goal, a beautiful seven-player passing move commencing with Meekings' one touch interception pass to Draper (thence to Tansey - Shinnie - Ofere - Dorrans and Watkins on its way to the net). Shinnie's run crucial to the goal, but the highlights only pick up his collecting the ball, and not the fifteen or so yards he'd already run.
Highlight of my entire life
I still remember waking up and seeing COYB all over town. I was in the suite at the Falkirk Stadium. I felt cheated, ruined and i felt all of our efforts were for nothing.
Still hard to watch this Take nothing away from ICT but with hindsight Falkirk should have not went for the winner and played to extra time but we pushed for the winner and sadly got caught on the break :(
I preferred a previous cup final with Peter Houston at the helm of one of the two teams; Arabest in Europe ICT n better luck next season Houston, even if it ain't so easy when Levein hasnae built yer team up for you first!
C'mon Cley were going to Hampden Again
tq
Well done😁😁😁😁😁
Cmonn
What a moment far me when i was at the game

Hahahaha get it up ya Falkirk.
Are the two managers the same person? 😂

ohhh jamie mac ffs
What a save from Macdonald.
"Heros, legends"... Fairlt lucky to be in the final never mind winning, what a poor goal to decide the game, shame for falkirk
Ha Falkirk are rubbish now
Caley thistle didn't even deserve to be in the final. The ref in the semi final was a joke
What? Cos your player blocked the vision of the linesman just as Meekings made contact with the ball? It had nothing to do with the referee, it was purely based on time
There was a moment in that game the Celtic goalkeeper clattered one of our lads before he got to the ball; a clear pen much like the handball. So we were both owed a pen so pipe down we deserved to be there as much as you did
Not the best cup final ever-Inverness relegated 2016/17 Falkirk what is good about them their one of the crapest 2 teams in a Cup final(by Celtic fan)
Falkirk are still better
Watching this back shows how much we miss shinnie, watkins etc... Still feel like we were lucky to win but was a spectacular game nonetheless.
This was Inverness's greatest footballing moment. What a great win, against a good side. Thanks.
I like how in Scotland they have kept the tradition of the captain lifting the cup as soon as he goes up. I don't like that thing they've been doing in the fa cup where the captain gets his medal, then edges back past all the others as they get their medals, it looks like a shambles.
I totally agree! however I think Inverness doing this in 2015 was the last time its been done in Scotland aswell :(
@@markboag6415 naw it’s no
The greatest final in the history of the Scottish Cup
1-0 Marley Watkins (31 min)
1-1 Peter Grant (80 min)
2-1 James Vincent (86 min)
I’m a Celtic fan in glasgow and my my mum and all her family come from Falkirk. We all went to this final and were all in different parts of the Falkirk end. What a final it was COYB💙
Such a bad referee, blocked our shot!
Whatever
Peter McKenzie ae
I will never tire of watching the Jags win the Scottish Cup. One of the best days of my life.
This was a Scottish Cup final that no one expected...
Yup I was at it really upset with the score line
Fun fact: I was actually at the final at Hampton
Same as a caley fan
Well done Caley Thistle!!
Lived in Falkirk for years, got taunted for being a "teuchter". Girfuy.
Really enjoyed watching this.
Heroes, legends. Best day in world's history
Vincent the legend
Where are all of the premiership teams ????
I think Rangers got knocked out by Aberdeen who got knocked out by Falkirk and Celtic out in the semis
Caley was a premiership team at the time
Sad we are now in league 1 😢
But that day was one of the best days of my life
COME ON YOU JAGS 💙❤️
This final will probably never happen again,Falkirk and Inverness aren't strong enough anymore
Aged Well😉
@@useryt205 it's a semi final
@@dylanmurphy4342 ano but still good to see them both back at hampden
The only reason they won because they got an easy team in the final
Falkirk we’re a good team then
@@charlieallison5088 Not really
Didn't even realise these 2 had that many fans they're average home attendances are below 1,000
Ahahahahhaahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahshahahahahshahshahahahahahahahahahahaahahhahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahahahjahahahajajahahajajjahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I love the bit where where macdonald fucks up and caley win the cup
was so proud to be a Falkirk fan
Deflated Falkirk jus watching highlights yet another hard luck story for us. Proud of the lads for 2nd half display and finally seeing us score a goal in a final. Caley really fortunate to win on the day but out time will come COYB. Enjoy ur party Inverness
CraigMcl001 luck was on our side, that was a very impressive second half from a young side. I look forward to seeing you in the top flight soon.
Best day of my life
Ditto! So glad I can say I have seen my team raise the Scottish Cup!
Weldone Inverness, since this is yer first Scottish Cup win then maybe you can try and catch up with hibees record which is 3😂😂
Aaron Loftus they didn’t deserve to get there hand ball on the line
Peter grant would be a decent signing for ict
No, never
Falkirk deserved to win this game. ICT played well but were very very fortunate to win.
Define fortunate
If you mean that ICT got lucky cause Falkirk made a mistake then ICT deserve to win because the capitalized off of said mistake
when Falkirk where good to beat some one
aaaand then they were regulated not long after
2 seasons after..
Why is half the stadium empty? If this was in the English league people would be fighting for tickets. Just shows why English football is better than Scottish football
Future_ Ninth look at the finals in Scotland now
Because both clubs in the final are provincial teams. You trolling ignorant English moron.
REND OM because England has 11 times Scotland’s population (mainly due to inbreeding) and hampden park has more seats than Inverness and Falkirk has people....
We aren’t that big of a club and we don’t get as much money as you guys. Inverness ct is only 25 years old btw and I thought we brought tons of people as at home games we bring less than 3,000
