In this video I visited the home of Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club, Caledonian Stadium. The team we know today used to be two different teams; Caledonian FC and Inverness Thistle FC.
They now play in the Scottish Championship, but have had some success finishing third in the Scottish Premiership and winning the Scottish Cup in 2015! I love groundhopping in the Highlands of Scotland!

What a fantastic club! Have you ever seen a game at a Highland club?
Could you please do a Hibs specific video?🇳🇬🇳🇬 I rate your videos so much, its great content !
@@hibsfan7573 yes mate will do in the new year! Thanks so much for watching!
Yup been at a game v rangers a few seasons back when I was up visiting family (I’m a gers fan), a game v Celtic I think 1-1 where the keeper dislocated his knee and I’ve also been to a game at Dingwall as well and I think Celtic one it 1 or 2-0 also that place with the Lidl’s and furniture land is a 5 min walk from my grans house and I have walked down the Caledonian Canal countless time to the beefeater for a drink
Edit: the game between ICT V Celtic was played on the 11th April 2015 and was 1-1
Rangers game was 14th October 2016 and rangers won 1-0, kenny millers 100th goal for the club
And I think the Ross county game was actually the 2-2 game on the 16th April 2017 with would make sense as I would usually go up at Easter, August and late December
Can you please visit Fredrikstad they have 9 Norwegian titels and 11 cup titels + they have beat Ajax in 1960?
I was there on my three weeks road trip around scotland. The best is the view to the sea.
Greetings from Germany
Been waiting on that one. Glad you liked the stadium. I'm from northern Ireland and support ICT. It originally started as a bit of a joke when I was a neutral Scottish football fan and worked in a bar. Most Scottish football fans in Belfast support Celtic or rangers for obvious reasons. Back in 2010 when ICT were promoted to the SPL again there were a few of us starting to follow their results to joke around with the old firm fans. They told us that we would never be proper supporters, that night I booked my flight and my first game was a 1-0 loss away to rangers. About a month later I attended my first home game and the welcome I received from the supporters and club was second to none and I've been a die hard ever since. Would normally try and fly over for 4 games a season and I was there when we lost to aberdeen in the league cup, beat Celtic in the Scottish cup semi final, Falkirk In the final, I was there when we got relegated it's been a bloody brilliant journey so far and I wouldn't trade it for the world
Sounds like some journey you've had as an ICT fan, fair play! Glad you enjoyed the video. Would really appreciate if you could share round with any other Caley Thistle fans! Cheers!
thank you for your support i hope you enjoyed the caley club before and afterwards
I'm from North Wales and I can recommend going to matches in Northern Ireland. The welcome at the grounds I've been to has been brilliant - I got a wee stadium tour from one of the directors at Coleraine the day before a match. Always friendly folks in NI.
👍
So proud that the club opened their doors and showed you around, brilliant video and thank you for visiting Inverness!
What a club!
Only been to a game at Inverness once. Freezing but liked the ground. Have to say, for someone who didn't grow up surrounded by Scottish football. You've developed great knowledge and have a really good presenting style. Great videos buddy.
Thanks very much mate, much appreciated! And yeah it's a cool looking ground!
My wife and i had our honeymoon up in Inverness 30 years ago , thou we didnt go out much (lol) , we obviously done the whiskey trail in the area , but while we were there ICTFC were playing so we went and watched , loved it so much they have been my 2nd team ever since , also being an ITFC supporter supporting ICTFC just seemed to be perfect ... great to see you at the Jags 👍
That part of stadium you stood where you could see the water from, I've been in that area of the ground on matchdays and seen wild dolphins leaping in the sea from where I was stood. Amazing location
To hear someone who isn't Scottish say heed instead of head just brings me joy
Haha glad you picked up on that!
Heeds
What about goerdies mate
@@Alizz12 they say eeid
@@Alizz12 still brilliant
Another banger of a video. I’ve been a season ticket holder for about 6 years now and it’s great to see some more recognition. Because the firth is right it makes a normal match day absolutely freezing.
Thanks mate! Yeah I bet it gets cold there on a matchday! Would really appreciate if you could share the word of this video with any other ICT fans :) Thanks for watching as ever!
@@FootyAdventures 👍
Someone was reading my comments :) Good video glad to see you up in the highlands. Caley were blue Thistle Red/Black stripes. They actually played at Telford St for a bit after the merger before moving to the new ground which was why the Thistle fans were a bit miffed. They both had some stellar cup runs over the years. Caley got to the fourth round (L16) in 1992 Thistle did the same in 1985 This was back in the days when the Highland Clubs had to qualify too
Great video, I’m a season ticket holder for ict and have been all my life so great to see you giving them some exposure
Nice, glad I could do so! Would really appreciate if you could share with any ICT fans!
Great video!
When I'm driving south, over the bridge, I always look left to see the ground, it's a great view!
You covered another great Scottish club recently, Livingston!!
Great clubs!!
Thank you! And yeah it's great to see when you come over the bridge
Enjoying your vids. I'm a lifelong Caledonian FC/ICT supporter although now Edinburgh based. It's been an unbelievable journey from non-league to the SC final and Euro League. Keep up the good work.
Great video. Love Inverness, worked there for a few months. Watched Clach, and Inverness as well as Nairn. 15 min train ride. Well worth a visit, could not believe the high standard of the playing surface when I visited. Match day food was great also.
Nice! Sounds like you had some great times up in the highlands!
Inverness is a lovely City. With the Castle and river ness and rolling hills and mountains.
Have you been in the city lately 🤣
Very glad you got shown around the stadium ,never been to it but looks nice and tidy with stunning views outside
Yeah so nice of them to show me around!
Another fantastic video, i've never been that far North, and we are the only Jags in the league but i have to say that their view of the water is far better than out view of the Firhill Basin. lol
Funny you mention about Inverness in Europe, the Romanian team they lost to are called Astra Giurgia who would end up beating West Ham in the next round for the Europa League. Just think about what if Inverness CT had beaten the Romanians, which if I can remember they almost did, then imagine the thought of a battle of Britain of West Ham going up to Inverness and Inverness going down to London...I love alternate history and who knows how the result would've gone!
You're killing me Sam. Another great video. After Ross County I'll have to watch from the beginning.
Thank you! Would really appreciate it. I wonder what your favourite will be!
Stumbled on your content by chance and it’s been a pleasure to watch, kudos mate
Great video again mate and again credit to the club for their hospitality 👏🏻👏🏻
great video this video of inverness caledonian is the video i was waiting for it looks very beautiful the sea outside the stadium greetings from mexico
Thank you very much!
Loved the newspaper pun, i like ICTFC , similar to my team ITFC, Terry Butcher also has a big history with both clubs, good post 💙⚪
Thank you!
Superb vid, Sam. What a great club.
Basically Scandinavia. Quality video again
Thank you and yeah haha it's a long way up north!
My cousins live in Brora, can’t wait for that vid

Sam, i support Morpeth Town, we had a player sign for Inverness Caledonian Thistle about a year & a half ago, David Carson. Another great video.
Oh nice, cheers for watching Phil!!
Great player 👍
Excellent again.
Thanks again!
Great work again
Thanks again!
Another very interesting and great video
Thanks again!
I’m English and I’m watching this instead of Match of the Day #properfootball 🏴
Legend, thanks!!!
In my last holidays I was in the Stadium, since this day I followed caley a bit and I'm from germany
Once again ~ A great video ...............
Thanks again!
Cheers dude 🥃
Super caley go ballistic celtic are atrocious 🤣😂🏴🇬🇧
Haha classic
Not atrocious now are they? Champions FC 🥂🍀
Great video 🔵🔴
Thanks mate!!
Hahahaha love it! "Invercallygobalisticcelticareatrocious" remember it well. Love from Glencoe
LIKING THE CONTENT you are putting out and hopefully Inverness calley thistle will get back to the top league in Scottish football.
Thanks mate!
Had Caley and Thistle never merged, neither would have gone on to the Scottish Cup Final, not in the time that ICT did. Thistle likely would've been a League Two lurker, maybe dropping out eventually. Caledonian probably would be in a state like Peterhead is right now, bouncing between League One and Two. Doubt we'll ever see a Scottish Cup title or Europe again in the foreseeable future, came close 3 other times, but another final win is a long way away
Caledonian would be better than Peterhead surely?
@@tonyh7994 They probably would be, just can't imagine them managing getting into the Championship
Caledonian would have had a bigger, more passionate support. Instead the merger alienated many and the atmosphere at games died forever.
Another good video mate
Thanks 👍
My fav away day / weekend away with Hearts
I can see my name on their haha 😄 quality video
I think if you go back and revisit a lot of these grounds you couldn't get into the clubs would welcome you with open arms.
Hopefully!!!
Subscribed, enjoy your videos bud. Do Sunderland! 👍
Thanks for the sub! Much appreciated. Sunderland coming in 2021!
Another great video mate. 41 down 1 to go. The Staggies next :-))
Yes Staggies video will be up tomorrow!
@@FootyAdventures they have just sacked their manager, could be a job going for you buddy;-)
Best video you’ve ever done up the Caley 🔵🔴⚫️🦅
Legend, glad you think so! Cheers!
Probably one of the best away days for a bounce behind the goal
Would love to get to a game there!
You’re getting famous now.. ‘recognised you’ 😂👍🏼
🙈🙈🙈
Great video mate i am an inverness Caledonian Thistle Fan
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed!! Up the caley!
@@FootyAdventures we will get back to the premiership my man just wait and see come on the caley jags
Hope you enjoyed your time In Inverness
I did!
Hello, I live abroad in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Yes, a proper Scottish named city in Canada.
I've been aching to get my hands on an Inverness CT away white jersey, preferably the 2021-2022 jersey in a size L or XL. Unfortunately, there's extremely minimal Scottish club selection here.
Are there any proper sites to use to ship world-wide?
I like watching your channal keep it up
Thank you! New video coming today!
I've never been to the new stadium and it looks like a fantastic stadium.. I have to ask what was your favourite ground you visited and what one was the best picturesque view?
Definitely recommend going if you get the chance! My favourite Scottish grounds have to be at Arbroath, Inverness CT, Elgin, Brechin and Stranraer! But there's more I could mention that I had great times at!
@@FootyAdventures its interesting that the grounds you mention are not in the premiership. My fave ground was Dumbarton. When the game was boring you had the magnificent view of the rock.
Another banger
Cheers Darren
@@FootyAdventures welcome
another amazing video must cost a lot to get to all the places whats the last club? lol
It definitely does, but thanks for watching! Ross County is last, video coming tomorrow!
@@FootyAdventures great mate cant wait to see it falkirk have let me watch a game at their stadium and u have inspired me to start vlogging so thanks man!
I’ve never been inside Inverness’s stadium, but have been in a car driving past it on my way up north
Definitely worth a visit one day!
Partick Thistle - The Great Glasgow Alternative
When they beat Celtic the fans of ICT were buzzing they made Celtic fc looklike there players were not worth of wearing a shirt but when they won there first major honour they were just delighted that the Scottish FA Cup was going to Inverness instead of Glasgow
Yes I did v Ross county
I was never inside any of the three grounds in Inverness but from the outside they all looked liker usty old corrugated tin n' barbed wire dumps. Cally, Thistle and Clachnacuddin all HATED each other with a specially visceral loathing, too. The talk and schemes to combine and get in the SFL dragged on for a long time and it was easy to conclude it would never happen. It didn't for Clachnacuddin, who withdrew from what was originally being discussed as a 3-way merger. What would they have been called then? Clach have a very neat wee ground now and seem content to be one of the leading clubs in the Highland League, which they've won a record number of times. It's a well-run league, something of a contrast with chaos and clashing egos which has been the traditional bane of football below SFL level in most of Scotland.
Should have a look at Ross County too
Coming today!
11.17 Parkheid u been spending too much time in Glesga 😏😅
nice vid
Thank you!
Inverness right next to the kessock coldest away day ever
6:21 What did u think of the Inverness Dog sam ?
Another great video. I wonder if any player has managed to kick the ball from the pitch into the water during a match? After you turned up the then lost their next game. Scottish clubs will be banned you from their grounds if this keeps carrying on... lol
Haha I know, this keeps happening!
my son plays for the youth team great club
Nice! Yeah they're so cool
First game I ever saw was at Inverness Cali again Celtic. Have a soft spot for this club
Nice! Thanks for watching
Go to Buckie Thistle.
Careful my lad. there is only one Jags and they bide in Maryhill....
Wee question....Inverness Thistle are in the world book of records Why?
Hmm Im not sure!
Howden End for ever.
I hope they pump Celtic.
