62 now, retired at 60, sold our bigger house in Calgary and downsized to Red Deer. No regrets, I do what I want, when I want, for as long as I want, then I stop and have a beer. I walk, cycle, brew beer, play guitar, camp, wakesurf and waterski…more to come! I did not have a million dollars, I have no work pension but am debt-free so that helps immensely. Camping and boating in BC right now.
Everybody thinks they want a lot of money but what they really want is freedom. Yes freedom costs money but a lot less than multimillions people think. Freedom is what my wife and I enjoy most about semiretirement. Your schedule / your rules. Keep up the great work Mark!
Thanks very much Dan and I agree 100 percent, money is not the answer, time is. Thats what we can never get back but lets enjoy life to the fullest. Hope your summer is all going great.

The part of retirement I love the most...I don't feel that I need to fit everything I want to do into a limited timeframe. For the first time in my life, I can literarily do whatever I want too, when I want too. If I had planned to work in the yard and it's supposed to rain, I'll do it the next day. Meeting a friend for breakfast, I don't need to check the clock to be sure I leave on time. Having that freedom has removed so much stress.

My wife was a MS CS, mainframe programmer, systems support person. Sat a long time. It ruined her legs, sitting at the computer screen ruined her health.
