As the drinking age is different in UK/US does that make much difference to Uni life.

I think so. Because almost everyone is 18 when they get to Uni in the UK, there is alcohol sold in the shop on campus and there are even club nights and a bar on campus. The school puts on events in a safe way where they can keep watch over students and it’s normal for students to go out in town. While in the US when you’re 18 (at least at my school) the closest you can get to a party with alcohol near campus is a frat party. Some people try fake IDs at bars but a lot of the time they don’t work.
Socially drinking is a lot more normalized in the UK, but i think students in both the UK and US tend to drink more in their first year.
