What a piano. Kawai have to be the best value for money grands out there. Talk about commitment to perfection. I just hope they leapfrog Yamaha in the years to come as their pianos are so overpriced and you are effectively paying for a name and not the product. Best of luck Kawai, your Shigeru grands are beautiful.
I don't really agree. Both are great. Yamaha has not stood still, reinforced their C grands and made a huge amount of improvements so that the CX is a very different piano from the C. They've just reengineered the S series in the SX and introduced the new SX line this year. I think Kawai is a somewhat better value, but both are outstanding pianos. I just wish Kawai would step up their marketing and product placement, that's where Yamaha is more established and fairly aggressive. These videos are very good, very comprehensive as to the engineering that went into these pianos. I agree Shigeru grands are beautiful, if made in very limited numbers.
